I have been going to Michael Isaiah for years, but I continue to go there because of the top quality color and cuts I receive from Priscilla. I live in Chicago now and yet the only person I let touch my hair is Priscilla; she is the best and definitely worth the trip. She listens to what you want and gives you an even better result. Her extremely friendly and upbeat personality makes it a pure joy to go to the salon. You will not leave disappointed! People always ask me who does my hair and I love telling them that I still go to my salon in St. Louis for my highlights! more

Great haircut, service, but a bit pricey and time-consuming 8/4/2008

I had Chey as my stylist and was so excited to finally go in and just say, ""I want something a little modern, trying to grow it out, but want it easy to do."" and have someone create that. Other places want specifics and I just wanted to trust my stylist. Chey gave me great color (highlight and lowlight) and a great cut. The only drawbacks were that it took 3 hours to get a color and cut, they try to sell you their styling products REALLY hard ( I got guilted into buying two) and it is a bit pricey (cost me $150 w/o tip). Granted, you get what you pay for, so considering I was there 3 hours and got a good color and cut, the price isn't TOO TOO bad. I'd definitely recommend going there. Other stylists seemed very good too. The receptionists were very snotty, though. Pros: Great hair cut, great convo, great color, evening hours, flexible scheduiling, timeliness Cons: Snobby receptionist, took 3 hours, a little pricey, they sell their products hard more

Super Skills!!! 7/2/2008

I love my hair! Christina has super skills!! I am so happy that I found Christina and Michael Isaiah Salon! This was my first time at the salon and I loved it! Christina spent a lot of time listening to me and that is so refreshing! I am so happy with my cut, color and highlight. I have never had so many compliments on my hair. I feel so good!!! THANK YOU I think the salon is great! Everyone was very friendly and the place has a great vibe. I can't wait to go back! more

Best haircuts and treatment of my LIFE! 6/7/2008

I've come into Michael Isaiah's twice and they have went above and beyond my expectations both times! Chey, the stylist that I have had both times, is fantastic! Every other time I have gone to a salon (posh or cheap) the stylist has always taken too much off of the length or just has done what they thought would look good. Chey listened well, asked me questions and then did EXACTLY as I asked her. The cut was incredible, best I have ever had. She also gives an excellent scalp massage while shampooing, really takes her time to get you relaxed! The prices are also very reasonable. Quit wasting your time at other salons and get to Michael Isaiah's for the treatment you deserve! more

Keeping it real with Chey! 6/6/2008

Chey did my hair and makeup for my wedding. She listened to what I wanted, and then made it happen! I looked so beautiful, and I have to give most of that credit to Chey! She is truly a great artist when it comes to the cut and color of your hair. I always walk out of Michael Isaiah feeling like a million bucks. Thanks Chey!!! more

Chey is phenominal! 6/1/2008

I have now had three cuts by Chey at Michael Isaiah and can't come up with one complaint. Before going to Chey I had my first hair cut that brougt me to tears. I don't have a single complaint about her. She takes her time to give her thoughts on what would look good and then again on how she is styling your hair and how to do it on your own. I was never into color before going to Chey but she has also more than changed my mind. She makes all the colors look completely natural and fun at the same time. No one else is now allowed to touch my hair and I have never had so many compliments on my hair. The salon itself is very trendy and layed back which again is awesome. Everyone that you see and meet there is more than friendly. Pros: Everything...especially Chey more

I got Michael Isaiah recommended to me by a friend. Chey is above and beyond your typical stylist. She is engaging with that right mix of technical and artistic ability that draws the line between good and great stylists. She did a fantastic job and has been fabulous ever since. Best Haircut ever!! 2/20/2008

I've had my haircut at the top salons in St. Louis and let me tell you, I had the best haircut I have ever had with Christina!!!! I had pretty fried hair from manic dye jobs and wanted to get rid of a lot of the dead hair but not shave my head. She managed to get all the dead off my hair and keep it shoulder length!!!!! Don't ask me how, I swear she is the best and she has been there for a long time so you don't have to fear that she will be gone by the next apointment. I have never been so happy. Did I mention that no one in this salon acts like they are better than you. It's got a great location and Christina is my savior!!!! Go now...you must!!!!! You get what you pay for!!!!! I love this salon! It has a wonderful atmosphere and everyone makes you feel welcome. I would recommend going to Christina! I have been going to her for over seven years and have never been disappointed! She listens to what you want and also helps give great suggestions. Christina always makes sure you look trendy, but also that you walk out happy. I get compliments all the time on my hair! If anybody is looking for a new hairstylist, Christina is awesome! more

I have been going to see Christina for about four years now. She is always so much fun and does a great job every time! She listens to what I want and has great suggestions for me when I want a change, but I am not quite sure what I want.I am happy when I leave each time I see her. Ella is the best! 10/25/2007

I have gone to Show-Me Stylz, Lemon Spa, and Ginger Bay Salon and haven't found a hair stylists as good as Ella. I've been to one stylist at Michael Isiah's before and wasn't very impressed but I looked on city search and saw the reviews that Ella had so I gave the salon another chance. Ella got the color perfect, she took her time and listened to what I wanted. When it came to getting my haircut we went through different styles that I was interested in and Ella cut my hair beautifully! Honestly, I've been getting great comments over and over again. I will continue to stay with Ella, she really is a great hair stylist! Pros: Ella Cons: None so far! more

Fabulous Cut and Service 10/22/2007

I actually went to Ella for the first time about a month ago. I wanted a short cut and have had bad experiences in the past, so being new to St. Louis I checked out citysearch and called the salon for an appointment. I appreciated that she took the time to talk to me about what kind of cut I wanted, how much time I like to spend on my hair, and what cuts would work. The end result was fabulous. I have thick hair and sometimes short cuts end up way to poofy, but she worked the layers and texture in so that it looks great. To top it all off, she is incredibly sweet and personable. The salon has a great atmosphere and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly. I will definitely be back. more

""it's more important how people feel about THEMSELVES after they've been in your space than how they actually feel about YOU while in your space."" Hair Therapy with Derrick 9/21/2007

I couldn't ask for more at Michael Isaiah. I'm a terribly loyal client of Derrick Sharp, since he's always done me right, and was slightly concerned when he moved to Michael Isaiah last year - I'm not usually big on change. Yet, I couldn't be more delighted with the salon, the people, the customer service and the warm atmosphere. Now I have the best of both worlds - Derrick - the only man that understands me AND my hair (also the only stylist that could take me from years of blonde addiction to an unbelievable brunette while keeping me sane in the chair) and I have a salon that makes me feel just as fabulous. Ella at M.I. lives up to the hype! 9/17/2007

Just moved to St. Louis 4 months ago. Upon City Search recommendations, I chose Ella to trim me up and she is a quite a gifted stylist! This is my first cut with her and she absolutely rocked my hair. She gave me the best haircut I've ever had hands down (my wife even said so!). I like the professional demeanor of Michael Isaiah and I didn't have to wait very long at all. The prices here at the salon are not cheap, but reasonable (well worth the product). I have been to one other salon, Adorn, that was good but not nearly as personal. Check out Michael Isaiah if you are looking for a new place and ask for Ella! Pros: service, friendliness Cons: no real cons come to mind more
