We went there for the first time last night for my boyfriend's birthday and it was fabulous. It was a Monday night and we had made reservations, but they really weren't needed. Until we were about to leave, we were the only couple at a table, although there were several people eating at the bar. \r

They served warm bread with a cream cheese/cilantro/jalepeno spread that tasted like a jalepeno popper to me. Different and delicious. Then we split the empanadas which were were also tasty-nothing special, but very yummy all the same. We each got the Churrasco skirt steak which was absolutely delicious and served with a garlic sauce. My boyfriend ordered the baked potatoe with his-loaded with cheese, sour cream, bacon, and chives. I got the sweet potatoe fries which were delicious-I was a little hesitant to try them since I don't really like sweet potatoes, but I was glad I did. The garlic sauce served with the steak really brought out the sweetness of the sweet potatoe and it was a wonderful combination. We finished by sharing the dulce de leche crepes which were extremely rich and served with chocolate sauce and powdered sugar. \r

Service was excellent and provided great recommendations. And our server told us that Wednesday nights they have half price bottles of wine. Altogether for two of us with two glasses of wine each, including tip our total was $100. Definitely worth it. We went to the Angus Barn last year for his birthday and there is no comparison-I would choose Metroi 8 over the Angus Barn any day of the week.
Pros: Amazing food, amazing service, try the sweet potatoe fries!
Cons: Parking on 9th street is never great, but it's worth the trouble
