MUST TO AVOID\r \r This woman contracted me to write some copy for her web site. I bent over backwards to accommodate her—references, writing sample, tons of emails, etc. She gave me the go-ahead for the job, and, as is customary, I told her I would need a deposit—no different from what she would expect in her line of work. Though she assured me she would put the money in my Paypal, she never did. Simply disappeared, would not return my communications. Finally got her on the phone; told me she was “so glad I called”, assured me she was looking forward to getting the job under way. Her way of turning on the sweetness was almost scary. Then just disappeared again. She strikes me as untrustworthy and/or a complete flake. I would strongly advise NOT working with her, as well as reading the comments that are all over the web about her (wish I had). I’m not one to normally go out of my way to write bad reviews but in this case I felt compelled.\r more

greatest experience for 4 years and counting 5/9/2012

Mary's is absolutely amazing. I have been a costumer there for 4 years and I plan on taking my business there for years to come. I found my first prom dress there and the prices were within reason and the dress was gorgeous! I couldn't have asked for anything better and now I just found my pageant gown there! I love Marys! more

THE place for THE dress! 10/12/2011

I began my search for my wedding gown in March 13 months before my wedding date. I had been to several bridal shops and tried on so many wedding dresses but nothing was right. My friends came with me to Mary's after it was suggested by colleagues at work. When we walked into Mary's we were immediately welcomed and made to feel comfortable. I tried on several gowns and knew right away it was ""the dress"" I had a wonderful experience at Mary's Bridal! more

Excellent Service and Dresses--check it out for yourself! 10/12/2011

I had a very good experience at Mary's Bridal. The service was excellent and beyond compare. Natasha was my consultant she was very helpful.she was also very knowledgeable about the different styles of dresses. I had a wonderful experience from my very first visit until my last visit when I picked up my Wedding dress. I went to several different shops when looking for dresses and I used sites such as Yelp and this one to find boutiques. I would caution everyone looking for a dress to read through all of the reviews not just the ones on the first couple of pages. Mary's has excellent service and dresses and you will find other satisfied brides like myself who would go to Marys again and again. I wanted to share with everyone because I almost skipped Marys because of some of the negative reviews on these sites and am sure glad that I didn't. more

If you want to pay for snobbery 2/4/2011

They are skilled at sizing you up as you walk through the door and deciding how to encourage or discourage your search. Seemed like they wanted to be paid just for saying hello. After hitting almost every bridal shop in Maryland and Virginia, I can honestly say their dresses aren't anything special and definately not worth the over inflated price tag. Yuck! more

Thank you for all your work towards my special day. I had SO many compliments on my dress!! Everyone was remarking at the exquisite detail in the dress and commenting that they?d never seen anything so beautiful. I have attached some pictures for you. I overheard things like ??she sparkled all the way down the aisle? and ??ohh, that was all done by hand.? more

Last summer when my stepson, Jeff, announced his engagement, I began to think about a dress for his big day. I had a very disappointing experience early on, trying to fit a rack dress over my body challenges, not the least of which a 70 Degree spinal curve. A friend suggested Mary?s. I came to select a dress style and a dress color in late February at her boutique in Annapolis. Today, I am leaving her shop with my beautiful gown. Mary personally supervised the fittings, suggested the perfect jacket style, helped me with a selection of earrings and other pearl accessories and finally made me a Fendi clutch purse with pearl trim. I am delighted that my dress is elegant with simple lines and look forward to wearing it at the wedding and in the future. Thank you Mary and Staff! more

Mary and her staff have made my gown search one of the most enjoyable and stress free experiences ever. I never thought that I would be wearing the first dress I tried on, on my wedding day. Mary is amazing n that she just knew what I wanted & what would work for me. They hace done all they can to accommodate my schedule & planning from Florida! I cannot thank all of Mary?s enough for making my pre-wedding experience fun, educational, & fabulous. I would recommend all brides-to-be to let Mary?s take care of you? more

My Daughter (Terri McSwain) was looking for that special dress and happened to run across Mary?s on the website and we came to visit. The customer service was wonderful and professional. I will visit Mary?s again in about ten years when I renew my 25th wedding vows. I want to thank you for a lot of unstressed. more

I am pleased with my experience here 10/13/2010

I really had no idea what kind of dress I was looking for when I started looking for a wedding dress. I had been to another shop where I had tried on about 10 different gowns, some were very pretty and I had even considered buying one, but decided I should go to one more place before committing. I came to Mary?s not really knowing what to expect. Before I even looked at any dresses, Mary sat down and talked with me for about 30 minutes about what I liked about myself and what vision I had for my gown. Then she put me in a dressing room and came back with a gown that I would have never picked out myself, but as soon as I put it on I was completely blown away by how beautiful I felt. I did not feel this way about any other dress I had tried on. That was it! I had the dress I wanted and it only took the dress to decide. I didn?t bother looking at anything else. Mary?s was a great place for me to go especially since, unlike most brides, I had no concept of what I wanted. The service was very good and the staff was always very polite. I am pleased with my experience here. more

Mary does it all 10/8/2010

Mary has made my daughter?s pre-wedding experience so enjoyable, elegant & pain free. Her expertise as an artist of wedding gowns is incredible. They made my daughter, Heather feel like SHE was the only bride they were fitting. All the nervousness that Heather & I (Mother) was gone shortly after entering Mary?s. Her staff knew EVERYTHING about making Heather?s day the most special day of her life. Amazingly as it sounds, the very first dress Mary chose for Heather, which was an original creation of Mary?s, was breathtaking and positively HEATHER. Being married at the US Naval Academy on November 8, 2008, Mary insured us that the designs of the gown captured designs prominent in the USNA Chapel. We are so thrilled that she could make our Heather?s day so fabulous. Having to fly in from Florida for Heather?s first fitting, we again were flabbergasted that the fit was exactly perfect to a ?T.? Mary does it all- gown for a queen, shoes, jewelry-you name it. She is an amazingly talented woman & an asset to Annapolis! My daughter is very fortunate to have come to Mary! more
