Brides, please beware. Mary's Bridal is passing off knockoff designer made gowns as ""handmade"" designs made by Mary. I tried on a dress that was ""one of Mary's designs"" later ...

Finding The One 2/20/2009

When I first came to Mary's I had been to two other bridal shops and not found ""the one"". Mary took her time and explained to me why I would look good in a certain style dress. I tried on some of the dresses I liked first. Then I tried on two of Mary's recommendations and FELL IN LOVE! I decided on one that we felt made me look the best. I was happy with the way I was handled at Mary's and would recommend it to anyone. more

Very Professional 2/20/2009

The staff at Mary's Boutique is very professional. Natasha was especially helpful and patient. She offered great advice regarding fit and alterations. I would definitely recommend this boutique to others and I would certainly come again. Pros: professional more

Took the Fear Out of Gown Searching 2/13/2009

We create all the mistakes possible in NOT preparing well before looking at wedding gowns. We walked in to ?Mary's Bridal Boutique? with no appointment, no idea of what style of dress she wanted, did I mention 4 months until the wedding. We were greeted by Mary and immediately saw a very experienced, knowledgeable professional person. Mary asked questions, took notes and found the perfect wedding gown for my daughter. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, comfortable and elegant. We were treated like royalty. Mary took the fear of ?gown searching? out of our minds. more

Stressful 1/29/2009

I just visited Mary?s and I can say this place gives you a headache. I am not one to ever right reviews but after reading these I have to say something. The negative reviews are very true. I have never felt so pushed around in a store before. They drill you on where you have been and what dresses you have tried on. To only trash everything you say. I promise you if you don?t find a dress Mary will pull something ?special in the back?. especially for you.? It is a scam. They do it to everyone. I felt like a prisoner b/c they wouldn?t let me leave. They kept bringing out dresses I told them I didn?t like and pushing me to try them on. When I told them I didn?t want to try on anymore dresses they became extremely rude. All they want is to secure a sale right then and there. I did like a dress there but I refuse to give them my money. I will be looking elsewhere. Pros: location Cons: very uncomfortable & pushy more

Terrible service. Treats brides with disrespect. 11/23/2008

I don't even have the energy to write out how horrible the customer service is at Mary's. I don't believe even one of the positive reviews posted on this blog. From the second I walked in I was treated like a second class citizen for NO reason....I would have bought any dress in the store if I had wanted it AND I had 14 months lead time before the wedding. So, there was no excuse for not wanting my business. However, Mary and the receptionist were totally unhelpful and very rude. Plus, I was completely turned off that the designer tags from all the gowns had been removed and Mary was selling them as her own creations! This seems illegal to me. Pros: none .... none .... none Cons: Marks up gown prices; Rude owner; Poor customer service like one would expect in a strip mall. more

5 Star Review 8/23/2008

A 5 Star Review is what this shop earned today. My wedding is next Saturday and the shop I ordered my gown from told me yesterday that they can't get it in time. 8 DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING I was going crazy with worry anyway because they had kept pushing the date back to have the alterations done. more

They made my Dreams Come True Great Shop 7/22/2008

I was frustrated that I could not find My dress and after the 14th store and 51st dress, my boss suggested that I go to Mary's Bridal. I thought that Mary's would be too expensive for me but my mom and i went and am I glad that we did. I found my dress or should I say one of the bridal consultants there -Penni actually put together 3 different dresses to make my dream dress. I'm so happy. Just had my final fitting and my wedding is this weekend and it is Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love these people they are the best and everyone should get their wedding dress from them. btw they have everything for your wedding. just got some last minute jewelry for my b/ms and when I opened the bag Mary had made me a gift for my wedding. Pros: Beautiful dresses, jewelry, shoes and people more

Horrible Woman, Boutique of Lies 7/19/2008

Mary's is the worst place to go if you are looking for a gown. This place will push you to tears and make you insane. The dresses are sent for pickup without being finished and they overcharge everyone. Pros: The store is clean and the dressing rooms are big. Cons: Mary, the staff, the prices, the end products, the illegals working as the seamstresses more

If You Want the Wedding of Your Dreams This Is the Best Place for You 6/15/2008

I came into this store very tired, very frustrated, and very angry with my mom because I just couldn't find a dress. Then I met the store owner Mary. She is Great. We talked for a while about what I wanted in my dress, what neckline, what type of skirt, what colors flattered my skin tones , basically what did I want to do in my dress and guess what. Out from the back , her assistant brings MY DRESS not a dress. Dorothy, one of the sales people there dresses me and I came out onto the dress runway ( yes they have a real Runway for the bride to view her dress) My mom cried, I cried and everything was just perfect just the way i wanted it to be. Thank you Mary's for making me feel Beautiful and a big thank you to all the people there. Everyone is so nice and friendly and knowledgable. more

Avoid! 3/1/2008

Left me with a terrible taste in my mouth. You'll sit down with a saleswoman who gives you the third degree, then escorted to a dressing room where you're told to strip and put on a (pink, naturally) dressing gown. You don't get to browse -- only they decide what gowns you will see. And best of all, should you find a gown you like, they remove all the labels so you can't comparision shop. (I know this because I found the same gown -- a basic Maggie Sottero -- in another store the next day.) The saleswoman didn't bother to hide her disapproval when I told her my budget, and told me to pull in my stomach when I was posing in another gown that fit just fine (and I'm not a big person! Do you really need a saleswoman critiquing your physique?) Bad, bad experience. Avoid. Pros: some nice dresses Cons: demeaning service, removes tags to avoid comparision shopping more

Mary's The Perfect Dress Shop 2/20/2008

From the moment i walked in to Mary's Bridal Boutique I knew this was not your typical bridal store. The staff was very friendly and the gowns were beautifully displayed, unique and truly stunning!! more

Horrible, Terrible Experience 11/15/2007

I've spent over $2,500 and this woman has been NOTHING but rude. Not at all helpful. On the first day, it was all good. But, just like the previous bride, once I paid everything flipped. She is so flip with the mouth about every little thing. She rushing you along during the fitting. Very condensing, and did I mention RUDE? Just like the other bride she attempted to rush me along and out of her hair after my third fitting. My wedding is in April 2008. She's scheduled my final fitting on Dec 5, 2008. Is she crazy?! Must be. I asked her about that early date (without looking at my contract) and could it be changed until about 6-8 weeks before M-day. She was flip with the mouth at the start. Oh, how I wish I had my dress contract in front of me. I wouldn't have gone back and forth (me, the customer who has already paid you yo' money) with her about it. Because on that wonderful little contract, in her handwriting, is the final pick-up date - Feb. 10, 2008. I have to say, she's like that with her entire staff and anyone else around her too. How they take it? I don't know. But I will not be hurried by that . . . well, I'll leave that out. But, it rhymes with ""itch"". more

Found my dream gown 8/4/2007

I had an excellent experience with Mary's Bridal, and found the gown of my dreams. I worked with Dorthy, and she was excellent at helping me find a gown that made me feel like a princess. I came in not knowing what I wanted at all, and left with a custom gown that made me feel beautiful and regal. The gown was much lovelier than anything I had tried on previously at ""couture"" designer stores, and was a fraction of the price. I highly recommend the store, and encourage you to trust the thoughtful staff that works there. I am sure they will make you feel beautiful too. Best wishes Pros: custom gowns, with beautiful detail Cons: location is odd....but conviently near Annapolis Mall more

Best Selection of Wedding Dress I've ever seen 4/15/2007

I was so frustrated that I couldn't find my dress. I was tried and cranky and then i walked into this wonderful bridal store and I fell in love with my dress. and now I have My Dress. really nice people and go above and beyond to help you. Check them out you'll be glad you did. Sheri B Pros: Beautiful dresses more

Outstanding Service and Selection 4/15/2007

i'd been everywhere looking for my wedding dress and I walked into this beautiful shop and they exactly what I was looking for. They helped me put together not only the most beautiful dress in the world, but also my veil and tiara and shoes. they went out of their way to make me feel so special. It was my dream come true. I highly recomment this shop and especially Mary their Manager. Pros: great selection more

The People are So Nice There they made me fel like a Star 4/1/2007

They treated me so well. I had been to every wedding store I could find and NO ONE would help me. Not so at Mary's Bridal they treated me like a STAR. their salesperson Sherry went out of her way to help me and my maid of honor to pick out just the perfect wedding and b/m dresses. And everyone just seemed so nice and friendly. I highly recommend this store**** Pros: Nice Friendly Service, Outgoing Fun Store, More Dresses than I saw anywhere more

I left the store in TEARS! 3/26/2007

I had never been treated with more disrespect and rudeness ever! I went to the shop with my mother, and two of my bridesmaids. When the sales person, Dorothy, found out my budget which was around $800 dollars she said to me in a snotty way, ""Well, our gowns start at 1,200"" and I looked at my mom and said we can probably work around that if I find a dress I really like. Then she asked me if I went to other bridal stores and if I liked any of those dresses. I told her I went to one and I really liked one of the dresses I tried on. Dorothy insisted on knowing the price of that dress (which was none of her business) I told her she was wrong and that it was the first bridal store I went to so I wanted to shop around at other places before I bought a gown. She told me that alterations are 700 dollars! Which I know for a fact that is way over priced. I could not find any dress that I liked and so I showed her a picture of a Maggie Sottero dress I liked. She told me that they had it in the back but I could only try it on if I was willing to pay for it, and the dress was $2,500. At that moment I told my mom and friends I wanted to leave and this was ridiculous. I cried when i left. My friend went back in the store and started telling off Dorothy, but Dorothy cut her off and got Mary (the owner) So my friend complained tp Mary. Then Mary asked me to come back into the store so she could apologize. I accepted her apology but told her I would never come back again. I know that these Maggie Sottero gowns are being over priced because I have shopped at other bridal stores that carry Maggie dresses and the prices did not start at $1,200 or even close to it. Looking for dresses is suppose to be a happy time, not a high pressured sales time or a time to be treated rudely. It is not even about the price, it is about the way the treat customers. If I had tried on the dress and loved it so much then I would have happily paid for it, but not after being treated badly. Cons: Bad customer service, over priced gowns and alterations. more
