Ky Michael Salon

Emily is FANTASTIC. I moved to the area this summer, and finally had to find a new stylist after going to the same one for the past 20 or so years. I picked Ky Michaels Salon after looking at online reviews. I called for a last minute appointment (receptionist was really nice about this) and got one with Emily. I was pretty vague with what I wanted done; but she worked her magic, and it's the BEST haircut I've ever had. LOVE IT. Also, the salon itself is wonderful. Very professional and clean, and pretty much everyone is friendly and welcoming. Definitely my new go-to salon. more

I've been going to Ky for about 10 years now. I have straight, thin, fine hair. There really isn't much I thought I could do with it until I met Ky. My hair has been a multitude of colors that all came out great. I've also had long and short hair styles. I'm in the process of growing out my hair again and I'm not going through that awkward, stupid look that you get when you're growing out your hair, thanks to Ky!! The salon is always clean and friendly. The rates are typical of any salon. I always find on-street parking. I have and would recommend this to any of my friends. more

For me, getting my haircut has always been a way to renew my self-confidence with an exciting and refreshing change. I'm a 23 year old girl who recently moved to Rhode Island, leaving me with the daunting task of finding someone new to cut my hair. For the first year or so, I stuck with the first person I found until I realized that none of the haircuts I was getting were a) exactly what I asked for or b) making me feel good about myself. So I peeked around here on Citysearch, and I found Ky Michael's salon. I called and was able to get an appointment for the next day with Raphael, who is just brilliant. He talked to me for a while about who I am, what I see in myself, and what I want out of a haircut. He brought out books of pictures, gave suggestions, and worked with me to find something that would get me back to feeling like the young, energetic person that I am. He was able to pinpoint exactly why the haircuts I was getting were not doing me any justice and he fixed it. He was thorough in helping me to learn exactly how to duplicate the styling process for my gorgeous, short new cut and I've actually been able to make it look alright by myself at home (I've never been great at that). I also had a complete blast having my hair cut by Raphael because he's so much fun to talk to. Haircuts should be all about finding that inner beauty and letting it out. I am so glad that I found Raphael at Ky Michael's Salon because he did that for me. more

My name is Anthony, i'm a 32 year old man with thinning hair. I've been getting my hair done by Riki at Ky Michael's salon for the past 8 years.She does amazing work and I always leave the salon feeling more confident. I gotta be honest thinning hair can make you feel very old and ugly or at least for me but Riki always makes me look and feel good about myself, so if you are a male with thin hair and wanna look better I highly recommend checking out Riki at Ky Micheael's salon. more

I have been following Kristen for years....You don't get any better than her...She is now working at Ky Michaels Salon..The Salon itself is gorgeous... The staff is so welcoming and professional... Kristen has truly found her calling... She is exceptional at what she does and Loves her job.... We always laugh and say she Bedazzles you...lol... First let's talk about this salon and then we can talk about the people. The Salon is in a great location that has parking (which is HUGE in Providence). The decor is modern and clean--but here is where this salon really begins to shine from the rest of the upscale salon scene in Prov--it's clean and modern yet warm and welcoming. The staff here are exceptional and the minute you walk in the door you feel appreciated. It's a nice feeling. more

I cannot say enough about what a great salon Ky Michaels Salon is as well as the professionalism of the staff that works there. Kristen is truly a talented stylist. When I came to her for the first time, I was in need of some help, especially with my color. She took one look, examined my hair situation and went right to work. She knew exactly what my hair was lacking and what to do to give me a beautiful color and healthy texture. I am so happy with what she did and does every time. I also purchased the OI/oil and cannot imagine not ever using it. It is an awesome product and makes my hair so shiny and healthy. Thank you Kristen for being so good at what you do!!! more

I started going to Ky about 3 years ago when I won a gift certificate on 92 pro Fm . I wanted a change and i use to watch a lot of make over shows where they would give a person a cut that would go with there face etc. I went into Ky and said i want a change.. he told me what he was thinking and I loved it! I will not go to anyone else! My friend Michelle always liked my hair and now we go together. He is the best! you will feel like a million dollars after he styles your hair. more

I have been getting my hair done by Ky for 3 years and he is THE BEST. My mom, sister, and myself all swear by him. I have dark hair and he was able to lighten it up with highlights that come out perfectly every time! He also does a great job with coming up with cuts that fit your style. I always have a blast at his salon. Highly recommend him! more

After bouncing around between many different hairstylists, I finally found Riki Vieira! Being French (Paris!), I have extremely high standards and she has been the only one to meet and even exceed them. As I?m sure you know, cutting short hair is already extremely difficult and to add to that, I have wavy hair layered on top of straight hair. It takes a true lion master to tame it in style. She has given me many young and funky yet professional haircuts and I always receive many compliments for it. When creating it, she takes into consideration my personality and lifestyle. The haircuts are very easy to maintain and grow well. She is a delightful person with a great sense of humor and fine fashion taste (she is not one of those overly extravagant hairstylists with 3 tons of makeup and huge hair). So I am giving her a five star rating for this long overdue review. more

Ky is a tremendous talent! The first time I sat in his chair, he made me feel like a long time customer, but knowing I was knew he made sure to fully understand my personality and tailor my style to it. I walked out feeling amazing and haven't gone anywhere else since! more

I have been getting my hair done by Ky for 6 years now and he is THE BEST! Being a colored blonde it is hard to find a stylist to get the color right and he does an amazing job every time. I live on the north shore of MA and I travel to providence RI just to get my hair done and it is totally worth the trip. He also did hair and makeup for my sisters wedding and did a beautiful job with that also. He rocks at hair color and styling, I recommend him to anyone who needs hair help or may just want a new do! more
