Mario is The Man when it comes to hair care. I've been his client for years and years, and he never ceases to amaze with his skill. Whether I want my hair short or long, blonde or natural, he ALWAYS makes my hair look fantastic. I get sooooo many compliments on my color and cut, and the Aveda products add luster, shine, and body -- I could not be happier. I only wish more people knew about Kisma, and especially Mario. Kristy always does an outstanding job. I have a hard time finding a good stylist as my hair has cowlicks and wants to curl. She always manages to tame it and gives a neck trim in between cuts so it always looks sharp. I've never had a bad cut from her. Sometimes stylist tend to get lazy or cut your hair too long to get you to come back. Kristy always cuts it just right and is more concerned with making it look good. I like that they book your next appointment and call you to remind you so, you don't have to keep track of how long it has been. Pros: Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, inexpensive. Cons: None I've noticed. more

As a guy, I don't need a lot of pampering. I just want to get my hair styled well at a reasonable price with as little hassle as possible.\r \r The problems I've had at other salons generally boil down to one of three issues:\r \r 1.) The stylists aren't good. I've gotten some bad cuts at various places around town.\r 2.) The stylists push products. I know modern salons are more ""retail"" than they used to be, but I hate feeling like I've walked into a used car lot when I get my hair cut once a month.\r 3.) The stylists either aren't friendly or are non-stop talking machines. There's a happy middle-ground that I think most guys want: be engaging and interesting, but don't talk just to fill dead space.\r \r I have none of these problems at Kisma thanks to Kristy. Kristy has been cutting me for several months, and I've enjoyed every trip to the salon. She's outgoing and very friendly - it's very easy to carry a conversation with her - but not overly talkative. She's never made me feel pressured to buy any of the products she uses. And, most importantly, she's done a great job of helping me find a better style. I initially came to Kisma because it's close to work, but I've come back again and again because of Kristy.\r \r To other guys out there: you will not be disappointed with Kristy. I have had multiple hairdressers over the years....nobody takes care of you like Mario...natural blondes, Mario is the man! Nothing compares to his level of service. He remembers you, pampers you, AND makes you look beautiful! If you ask kindly, he will even clean your diamond earrings or wedding ring for you - just ask. Tip big - his generosity is rare these days! more

I was referred to Anet by a friend of mine and I will be forever grateful to that friend. Anet has such an acute knowledge of all different types of hair and what cut/shape works best for each person she sees. She gives me fantastic personal attention and I greatly appreciate how wonderful my hair is. I've recieved so many compliments on my color and cut and just brag on her all the time! I always look forward to my appointment because I am so pampered. The salon is very relaxing and the staff is all so curteous and helpful. I highly reccomend Kisma Hair Co. & Spa. I would like to highly recommend the stylist, Mario, at Kisma Hair Salon. \r \r When I came to Mario, my hair was very damaged due to my former stylist using bleach when highlighting. In addition, my hair is long and coarse-making it difficult to work with. When I met Mario, he took the time to have a formal consultation. He looked at my hair and knew exactly what he needed to do to make my hair healthy again. Also, Mario is a very knowledgeable and experienced stylist. He is always traveling to New York to get the up to date cuts and styles. \r \r After a year with Mario, my hair is long and healthy. I am so thankful to have him as my stylist. I would not have been able to keep my hair this long if I would have stayed with my old stylist. It is also great because Mario will schedule you in for free bangs trims (my bangs grow soooooooo fast:) He always takes the extra time to make sure his clients are taken care of.\r \r Go to Mario and get your dry, damaged hair nurtured back to health! I had the fortune of finding Kisma, and it is an excellent Salon. My first choice for a cut - Mario - was fully booked, but I got an excellent haircut from Annette. The place is clean, modern, and all the staff are very cheerful and professional. I will absolutely go back to Annette when Mario is unavailable! I can't say enough !! First off, the place is just great ! Very clean, professional, warm and smells great to say the least. Laura has been cutting my hair for the past five years and she does such a great job ""every"" single time!! Not only does she cut my hair and does a great job, but she has just an all around awesome personality and great sense of humor !! Kisma without a doubt has certainly done well by employeeing her there. She takes her time and does not rush anything. She will make sure that she understands what you are looking for and what you want from her before she begins. She is just a gem as a person and an expert with her talents. Teresita is AMAZING!!! I have been going to her for almost a year and she has been the best stylist I've gone to. She listens to what I want and helps me be creative. She is a very talented stylist. She gets my highlights in quick and they are always very neat. Kisma Salon has a great atmosphere, it is calm and relaxing, as a Aveda salon should be. Teresita takes that a step further by offering a hand massage while my highlights process. She does a great job every time. I get lots of complements on my hair and I owe it all to Teresita. Ok let me be the first to say...FABULOUS!!!! I give the salon 5 Stars...the cleanlines of the salon, the professionalism of the staff, and my overall experience. I was recently turned on to Aveda a few years ago, and after relocating to Austin just a few months ago, I found myself in search of a new salon. I can't tell you how I lucky I feel to have found Kisma. The entire staff is simply AMAZING. Paul is my stylist, fantastic at cuts and color. If you are looking for a new look, he's your go to guy.....very creative!! Cathy, my esthetician...I am complimented on my skin daily...she keeps me looking young!!! I've been going to Paul for almost a year now and he's awesome. Easy to work with, professional, and fun. If you're tired and don't want to talk, he'll leave you alone and just stick to business. If you want to be entertained, he'll talk to you the whole time and is funny, open, and friendly. I've gotten tons of compliments on my hair since I've been going to him, and will continue to keep going back! more

Jerry gives an awesome massage. It's amazing to find such a skilled therapist and Aveda products for a steal of a price ($60 for 60 minutes!). I'd recommend Kisma and Jerry again and again. more

Anyone who wants the best hair colorings and highlights, I suggest you to ask for Cecilia at Kisma Spa. I moved to Austin from NY for 8 months now. I wasn't able to find a stylist that can color and highlights my hair the way I wanted since I left NY, until I met Cecilia. She did a terrific job on my hair, the colors and highlights turned out perfectly like how I wanted. All of my friends love my hair and I'm so happy :)! Cecilia is very professional, giving great service, always making sure that I'm satisfied and I'm glad I let her do my hair. I have been going to Kisma now for almost 2 years now and I love it!!! I am a stay at home mom and I can't wait for my apppointment with Teresita to arrive. Kisma is my time to relax and be kid free for at least a couple of hours. I just sit and relax! Teresita is the best!!!!!! She knows exactly what to do with my hair even when I'm not sure what I want to do with my hair. She is the best for highlights, she knows what colors to make my hair look awesome. You must book an appointment with PAUL. I have never been more pleased with my color AND my cut, and I tend to be very picky when it comes to choosing a hairstylist.\r My hair color is exactly what I asked for -he works with you to make sure it comes out the way YOU want. \r I also came in with long, boring hair- He managed to give it shape! He is a perfectionist when it comes to cutting hair. The best haircut I've had, thankyou Paul! more

Michelle is just the best. She realy knows colors and makes me look beautiful every time I go see her. It is a wonderful expereince to be pampered and styled by her. I grew up in Europe and never got a haircut by anyone in the US that cuts and colors hair better than Michelle. Please ask for her next time you go! I just have to say how fantastic Cathy at Kisma is! I have had several facials before but lately me skin has been unmangeable due to stress. I stopped by Kisma on a whim while shopping. She patiently listened to all my concerns. The facial was luxurious and relaxing. I nearly fell asleep. She has a very nuturing and gentle touch. The massage was awesome. I have never made facials a part of my routine services but I think I might have to start! She did some waxing as well and it was quick and efficient (the best way it can be) For waxing and facials see Cathy at Kisma, With the products she recommended my skin has continued to look and feel great! A friend referred me to Kisma about 2 months ago when my stylist skipped town. I called and was given an appointment with Teresita. From the moment I walked in to Kisma, I felt like a welcomed guest. I was immediately offered a beverage and began looking at style books. Teresita greeted me with a big smile. She began my appointment with shampooing and a heavenly scalp massage. I described the haircut that I wanted and she new just what to do. When she was finished, my hair was so precisely cut and styled. I have never had a cut that great in my entire life! I made an appointment that afternoon to have her do highlights. When everything was complete, I felt fabulous. Since then, I have had so many complements on my hair. Teresita is the best!
