I recently moved from Boston to Los Angeles. I searched around for a moving company that wouldn't break my bank and could promise me better than a 21-day delivery window. I couldn't wait around in an empty apartment for my belongings for 2 or 3 weeks, and I couldn't pay for a hotel. I called several moving companies -- some well-known -- and all of them provided higher quotes than Key Moving and large delivery windows. When I told Key Moving I needed my things to arrive within a few days of my arrival in Los Angeles, they found a way -- by moving me out of my apartment in Boston almost 2 weeks before I came out to LA -- to promise me that my things would be delivered within a week of my arrival in LA. The movers who arrived at my Boston apartment were on time and efficient and careful, and I was kept abreast of when my things were later leaving the East Coast and when they would be arriving on the West Coast. One of the movers who delivered my things in LA was a little less than careful, but the head mover made sure to monitor him. My furniture arrived carefully wrapped and was put back together well. I will say that two of my wooden bookcases endured what appears to be wood worm damage, likely contracted when they were in a storage facility before heading out west. Fortunately, the wood is distressed so it's not so noticeable. Overall, I was very pleased with Key Moving's ability to keep their promise and get all of my things here on time and in good condition, especially for a cross country move. I recommend them. more

We have used Key Moving twice in the last 13 months. Both time their quote was the best value for money, their service was as good as their word. Efficient, friendly, careful team. First move was from Manhattan to Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, second move from Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, to Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. I will definitely use Key Moving's service again and will recommend it to my friends. more

Key Moving & Storage packed and moved me from the upper eastside in Manhattan to Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Not a long distance move by any means. Nothing was broken or lost. And they provided me with a very reasonable price considering the level of service I received. I had two teams, one who packed and one who did the physical lifting. Both teams were polite, professional and courteous, especially the foremen. The movers in particular, had to deal with a broken elevator and carry items from my store room up four flights of steep stairs to the truck. In addition, the elevator they were delegated to use by my building was usurped by the business that shares it and they ended waiting hours (literally) just to get on. But they managed to get me to Brooklyn and into my new place before sun down. I also used them to unpack as I had many boxes of books and kitchen items. Same polite and efficient team that packed for me showed up and worked very quickly. I would recommend them but suggest that you be sure they don't forget anything as I did have a couple of things left behind. It was partly my fault as I had to leave the apartment before they did in order to get to Brooklyn. And be sure they mark your boxes! more

Key Moving provided us with moving services a couple of weeks ago. The movers were very polite, friendly and courteous. It was clear they took great pains to move our belongings without damaging them. We will definitely use Key Moving again for our next move and recommend them to all of our friends! more

I booked a move with Key Moving based on the good reviews here. I scheduled Key Moving to move my daughter from Durham to Louisiana. They assured me that they could handle a national move. They were trying to get into the national market. 5 days before the move, Susan at Key Moving sent me an email and canceled the move. Broken truck and ""strained scheduling."" NIGHTMARE!!! I am in a huge bind. Horrible experience. Stay Away! Cons: They canceled at the last minute. more

the worst moving experience I have had. We got our stuff two weeks after the estimate delivery date, some got lost, nobody even said us they were sorry. It took them 22 (!!!) days to deliver our stuff and we were without anything for this time with two little kids. Every time I called they told me to contact the driver of the truck because they couldn't tell me anything about the delivery date. more

I find it funny that there are no negative reviews when every company at some point will have an unhappy customer; but I have yet to find a negative review, which is why I chose them. Day 1, pick up, 1 mover and one front man, 1 bed room apartment took 2 hours. I over estimated on my inventory list and was quoted with a great price, then with their ridiculous measuring system he comes back with a price that is over $500 more, I could have gone with a name brand company for this price. Now, 21 days later, I still don't have my belongings. I have called, they tell me they put my stuff in storage for a while and it is on its way now. The driver will call 24 hours ahead but really nobody has any idea where my belongings are. They are very lucky I am not in dire need of what is on that truck. Everytime I call, I get a rude response, rude tone from the person on the phone, and the person who sold me on this deal never seems to ""be in the office"". I would NEVER recommend this company to anybody. I look forward to seeing if my review even stays on ther internet or magically disappears. Cons: Poor customer service, one moving person more

I had never moved long distance before, and I was very nervous about my move from New York to Chicago after reading some horror stories online. From start to finish Key Moving made the process really easy. Susan was amazing in coordinating scheduling - I needed my items stored for about 2 weeks between pick up and delivery, and had a very small window of when I needed everything to be delivered. They were able to accomodate my request exactly when I needed to receive the items. The movers arrived on time to both pick up and deliver my items, everything arrivedin the same condition as I sent it, and the end price came into my original quote. Overall, I was extremely satisfied. more

They made my moving experience so much easier that it normally is. I've moved 10 times in the past 6 years so I know good movers when I see them. The moving crew arrived at my place 15 minutes early. They worked really diligently and got the whole move done in almost no time at all. Nothing was lost or broken. They crew was really professional and nice. My contact at the company, Susan, was pleasant to talk to, professional and very helpful. In the end they charged me exactly what I was quoted. I would 100% recommend them to anyone who asked. I?ve moved twice with Key Moving and Storage, and would do it again. The first move, from Philadelphia to New York, was flawless and painless in every respect, and very competitive in price. I was impressed by Daniel?s organizational skills, his courtesy, and his promptness in responding to questions large and small. The second move, five years later, from New York to Austin, Texas, was flawless on the packing and moving end - seemingly a repeat performance. However, I discovered after the movers left that two important items were missing from the delivery. Daniel immediately took responsibility, located one of the items, and had the driver of the truck send it to me by UPS. The driver unfortunately did not wrap and seal the box (which he?d opened to check the contents), and a painting was damaged (glass, frame, and matting) ? damage not covered by the moving insurance. Key Moving has agreed to cover the expense of the repairs ? as always, with respect and courtesy. (I?m hopeful the second item will also be located!) more

We came across Key Moving thru the internet. We've been lucky, cause we can't think of anybody better than these guys. Friends recommended other companies. We inquired with at least a dozen. Some didn't show up for an estimate, others gave us very ""lose"" estimates. Key Moving was clear, efficient and, last but not least, the most competitive. They managed to pack everything and deliver in a very short time. Nothing was broken or missing. There are companies going around saying that they can match anybody else's prices with a better service. These guys didn't say anything like that but they were eventually more competitive and I can't think where other movers can do better than Key Moving. It will be hard just to match their service. If I have to move again, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend them. more

From beginning to end it was easy to move with Key Moving. Matt in Customer Service was able to accomodate several changes I had to make to my move date. This was an excellent experience from top to bottom. My own job is to pack and ship artwork, so I know good movers when I see them. The sales person was helpful and kept in contact so we knew what was going on, right down to making sure they had the right insurance forms for our new building. The movers showed up on time and had our apt emptied quickly and safely. Everything went just as smoothly on the other end, right down to the movers reassembling some furniture that they had dismantled to move. Everything came through fine and the job was done at the quoted minimum. I would definitely use them in the future. more

From the first contact with Patrick, to the swift and painless conclusion of the move.. everything was GREAT! I had a little trepidation having found Key on the internet but spoke with three different movers and just felt comfortable with Patrick and his ease and professionalism. I was right! Superb customer service, excellent follow up, super helpful in every way - accomodating and flexible with our last minute plans. Fast, efficient workmen -on time, helpful and courteous. Everything moved like clockwork and the whole thing was a breeze. Estimate was right in the middle, but the service was priceless! Well deserved kudos to Patrick, my sales contact, and Mario the foreman who moverd my girlfriend and I into our new place. We found Key Movers based on a recommendation from a friend and would certainly not hesitate to pass along the recommendation to others. Patrick was responsive, thoughtful and articulate. Mario and his team were courteous, fair and most importantly -- FAST. I suspect the practice in this business is to over estimate the cost of moving so a customer is not surprised at the end. Our move was no exception as the final tally was about 75% of the estimate. Very pleased with the service and would use Key Movers again. more

I am writing because all too often we write to complain and not to applaud someone?s high level of customer service. In particular, I am speaking about one of your fantastic employees, Matt. I have been working with Matt for a few weeks now and he is patient, kind and thoughtful. He is very perceptive to stressful situations, and tried to understand what we were going through. We had quite an ordeal a week ago, when our closing date on our new home was delayed. I had scheduled your movers to come, and had to cancel last minute, Matt called to follow up to make sure everything was ok.
