Trendy, on its way up 4/2/2007

I also went to Ketchup last Saturday (see review by stsega), about a week after they opened. I'll start with the positive: the appetizers, sides and desserts were pretty tasty. The (free) pretzel bread was definitely the best part of the evening. I really liked the ""Strawberry strawberry"" dessert-- delicious! The mahi mahi was also very good, as were the grilled veggies it came with. Pros: Cool scene, interesting food, good appetizers/sides/desserts, nice staff Cons: A little pricey for what you get, parking, service (but will probably get better) more

Good Service, Attractive Crowd, Above Average Food 4/1/2007

A few friends and I ate at Ketchup on a late Saturday night. The food is pretty good, although a bit overpriced for some of the entrees. The complimentary pretzel was great, the barking dogs (mini hot dogs with kobe beef) were amazing, as were the sweet potato tater tots, and the 5 different kinds of ketchup that came with our fries. Salads are huge, but the entrees are relatively small, so don't plan on sharing (even if the waiter says it's enough for two people). Dessert (the apple pie and strawberry shortcake) weren't too shabby either. The place was packed with the usual trendy Hollywood types, and it seemed every waiter/waitress was also a part-time model-- it was a very attractive crowd. Despite it's location, the service was far from pretentious. The staff was friendly and easy going. It might be worth the appetizers alone. Pros: Friendly staff; the appetizers/sides Cons: Size of the entrees more
