We have been there a few times, always like the decor and atmosphere and decent customer service. This time we actually paid attention to the food and it was disappointing: burge...

Great atmosphere, staff, food & drinks! 2/7/2008

We went to Ketchup for a friend?s birthday last week and we had a great time. We went to the ""lounge"" area for drinks beforehand and got some of their specialty cocktails. Quite a few to choose from and they had some interesting, unique mixers like Yoohoo & Kool-Aid! Definitely worth trying. The bar was fun with good music and a good mix of people. I would probably go back just to get drinks in the future. Pros: Food, drinks, staff, atmosphere more

AWSOME TIME AT KETCHUP! 2/7/2008

This place truly a unique Los Angeles restaurant. I'm an LA resident and grew up down south eating comfort food so I love the fusion this place brings. Ketchup serves comfort food with a Hollywood twist in a clean modern atmosphere. Pros: good times Cons: parking more

BEST RESTAURANT IN LA 2/7/2008

Going to Ketchup was an awesome experience. The service was perfect, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun and the managers were friendly and helpful. I think I found my new favorite place to eat!! The bar is really fun too, very chill lounge area and a great place to enjoy a few drinks. I'm bringing all my friends there!!!!!!! Pros: service, food, ambience, drinks, location Cons: nothing more

Great ALL AROUND atmosphere! 2/7/2008

The atmosphere at Ketchup is phenomenal. I love going there for drinks with friends before going out, taking clients and co-workers there for business, bringing friends when they come to visit, and simply just hanging out. more

Great summer spot 2/7/2008

The new summer menu is great and full of flavor that compliments the hot summer days. The new martini menu is great as well with fun movie names to accompany the new tastes. And as always the staff proves to be fun and reliable every time I visit. I really love the large open window too because at night it lets in the life of Sunset Strip and gives you a bird's eye view of the action. Pros: Excellent food and service more

I went to Ketchup last night and had an amazing time! I kept hearing really good things about the restaurant and wanted to go check it out for myself, PLUS it was on the Hills, haha. Our waitress suggested that we get a few things off the menu and share them, so we could experience all of the food. So we ordered the...3 some (3 french fries), the lobster wraps, the kobe sliders (mini hamburgers...soooo good!), the shake and bake and the meat loaf. We all picked from each dish and honestly, all of us couldn't choose our favorite. Everything was amazing. It came out in a timely manner, the servers and the staff had such great personalities, that it made our entire experience wonderful. Our waitress was nice enough to take pictures for us, she entertained us and the Managers came by to say hello. Oh, totally forgot to talk about the drinks! They have this Ketchup Martini list and this girl that walks around with a cart. She gives a little sample of whatever drink your thinking about getting and you can taste it before committing to buying one. We got the summer lovin, the ooooooh yea, the grape crush and the....25th hour. We shared those to! Haha. I highly recommend this place, it will def be one of our new hangouts. Hope this review helped and def go try it. Ask for ""deja"" when you go, she was so much fun! more

LA HOT SPOT!!! 2/7/2008

I have gone out to Ketchup with my boyfriend 3 times in the past month and we love it! If your looking for the trendy West Hollywood upbeat crowd with good food and GRRRREAT martinis, then this is the place. On a friday, I had the kobe luxury filet, got it Med-rare and could almost cut it with my fork.....so tender!!! For the second visit, I had their new dish called, ""Deliverance"". I'm not usually a pork-chop eater, but it was to die for!! Great crowd, good music, one of the top spots in LA! Pros: Martinis/Wine, fun ambience, great service, good food Cons: Expensive Valet (not uncommon for Sunset Blvd.), reservations recommended more

Amazing! 2/7/2008

I brought a few of my friends from out of town to Ketchup this past weekend and we had the time of our lives! The food, service and ambiance (especially the hip music) were top notch. You have to order the Kobe Sliders and the pork ribs. Bravo Dolce Group, bravo! Pros: Food, service and ambiance Cons: Was a little pricey more

Best Food EVER! 2/6/2008

This place is every bit as cool as I expected. The manager and chef came to our table to check on us, they bought us a round of shots and took one with us. Place was hoppin and the food was perfect. If you have not been yet, better check it out! Pros: Food more

Decent American cuisine with a small twist to diner dishs 1/30/2008

The Kobe burger is worth a try, kobe beef is definitely not a bad twist to the traditional burger. more

Fun place to eat! 1/22/2008

My sister brought me to Ketchup after seeing it featured on an episode of The Hills, and I must admit, I really enjoyed it. Aside from the good food (I love the soy burger), my favorite aspect of the restaurant is its ambiance...I love the red and white Ketchup theme! Very unique, and the service is pretty good as well. I have yet to sit in the bar room (the drinks look great). I will definitely be going back, if anything for their amazing fries...and 5 different kinds of Ketchup! :) more

mediocre at best. 1/12/2008

it's obvious people just go to this place for the hip young hollywood scene. The food is average at best and consist's of anything you can get at your neighberhood pub. Pros: good service , good drinks , good appetizers Cons: music can be loud at times , drunk people in lounge , most of the food. more

Fun to do once or twice 1/5/2008

My girlfriend and I went on a Saturday night and had reservations for 6 PM. They called me on Friday afternoon to confirm and we were seated promptly once we got there. The only negative was that I had asked for a window seat twice on the phone before, and the hostess was not aware of it despite the fact that both people I had spoken to said that they would make a note. Fortunately, it wasn't that busy yet so it wasn't a problem to get a window seat. Parking was easy as there is a huge lot behind the street and it only costs $2 for the first two hours with validation. The staff was excellent as everyone we came across was super friendly. Our waitress was very helpful and checked on us often. The food itself is just average. We had the plate of fries and 5 kinds of ketchup as well as the starter hot dogs. Both were fun dishes. The entrees were decent but not particularly noteworthy. The decor is fun but it is VERY red. Ketchup is a fun experience that I'm glad I tried. I wouldn't go regularly, but I would go again to take some friends from out of town or something. Overall good for the experience, average food. Pros: Friendly staff, easy parking, fun experience Cons: Very red decor can get annoying, food is just average more

Good food, great atmosphere, excellent staff 11/28/2007

Went on a Friday night with my sister (I was visiting her from out of town), the night after T-giving, so things were pretty calm in the LA area. Had reservations for about 9, which we were early for (nicely greeted by the hostess girls) and had our table ready anyway. Sat down, got drinks (okay, not fabulous drinks, prices a little high, to be expected). We ordered the onion rings for apps, mac & cheese side and split the pistachio chicken. The food came almost too quickly and also came first. We had to let the waiter know we never received our onion rings. So we had all of this together...not a huge deal, but still a little annoying. All of the food was very good and the chicken was quite tender and flavorful. I think we were only there for about an hour. Unfortunately didn't see any celebs except a girl-next-door wanna be playboy bunny. I didn't think the prices were that high, except a little for the drinks. I think a small martini should never be over $10, but that's just my opinion. I would go back but only if someone really wanted to go. Overall good time and the wait-staff was SUPER nice and helpful. I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staf...HOWEVER, this may have been because we were seated next to a guy who claimed to be an ""investor"" in the restaurant. I'm sure any good face that was to be made was ""upped"" to impress any table in a two-table vincinity of this guy. Anyway, we had a good time, wouldn't go back, but fun for once. Pros: Great, friendly staff, good food, neat atmosphere Cons: Prices, especially on drinks, messed up our food order somewhat more

Loud and sceney 11/27/2007

A ridiculously long wait (despite confirmed reservations) was met with a round of free drinks. The comfort food menu looked divine, but if you're going for comfort food, you really need to nail it. Ketchup misses a bit. The array of ketchups with the fries were fun and different, but it was hard to enjoy because the atmosphere was insanely loud. Conversation was nearly impossible, and the see and be seen quality of the place was overwhelming. The bathroom was pretty gross. Pros: ketchup varieties Cons: loud, long wait, gross bathrooms, average food more

Great! 11/9/2007

I really enjoyed this place. Great prices, great food, and an overall good time. Upon going to this place, I thought it would be your typical over priced lounge, with mediocre food... but the food is good! I had the chicken flavored with beer or something, and that was just spectacular... and the portion size was pretty large as well. Pros: Cheap for dining on sunset, great atmosphere, great food Cons: spend too much time in here and I'm sure something bad will happen to your eyesight more

You'll Like Seeing Red at Ketchup 11/6/2007

Have you ever checked yourself out in your rearview mirror while stopped at a red light? Basked in the glow of a fellow driver's brake lights? Admit it. You have. And therein, you know what it's like to be at Ketchup. The red tomato paste theme is slathered all over this Sunset Boulevard scene. The draw is its prime real estate above The Strip. Yes, the fact that you're about 3 stories off the ground ups the ante (pun intended) here. Plus, with one wall rigged entirely like a giant sliding glass door, the view from across the restaurant is fantastic and Hollywood Hilly. Enjoy that sight with a cocktail from the adjacent, retro-plush lounge. Oh wait...you're probably gonna be there for dinner. In that case, bring plenty of green and prepare yourself to go into the red. Par the course for LA, the menu is overpriced compared to the food portions. At least your ""snack"" entree tastes good. I recommend the pistachio encrusted chicken. As for their five specialty ketchups--call me old fashioned--I prefer the original. Tip: The last time I was there it was a Sunday and everything was 50 percent off. At those prices, Ketchup is sweet. Pros: Decor Cons: Overpriced, Parking more

Cool Hollywood Scene with Average Food 11/4/2007

Ketchup is a trendy restaurant with a very cool vibe, but unfortunately the food doesn't stand out. My favorite item on the menu is the Barking Dogs-- mini hot dogs with chili and cheese. YUM! We also tried the Three-some of fries and the sliders, both disappointed. Given the all-american diner I expected more. I would go back to Ketchup for drinks after work, but I will skip dinner. Pros: Drinks, Cool Vibe more

Unique and Fun! 11/1/2007

If you're looking for a unique and fun place to go for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend Ketchup! Small portions but the service is great and the food is excellent. Easy to get a table at lunch, I recommend sitting by the windows where you can view the Hills. A great find indeed! Pros: Excellent service and a great view of the Sunset Strip and the Hills Cons: Small Portions more

Cramped but fun 10/31/2007

It's all about the buzzing atmosphere here. The food is good and service is very good, though the tables are small and cramped together. We went on a Friday night and even though we had reservations we still had to wait about 15 minutes. But the glowing red light is fun and romantic, and you just feel swank eating here. It was a balmy night when we went and our table overlooked the street, with the windows open, it just felt fun! We had the kobe sliders, the mini dogs, and french fries with the ketchup platter. It was quite fun trying all the different kinds of ketchup, and yes, the minidogs are so cute I had to coo when I first saw them. It's a very fun ""LA"" place. Pros: Cool atmosphere, good service, decent food Cons: A bit pricey, had to wait 15 min. in the cramped lounge even though we had rezzies. more
