A quick job done right! 4/22/2010

Seattle's Jorve Roofing came out and finished my roof project in only two days! The workmanship was impeccable. The roofing contractors were very respectful and the yard was almost cleaner than when they arrived! Bravo! Pros: Knowlegable and friendly staff more

great attention to detail 10/3/2008

I have a complicated roof system. I interviewed five roofing contractors and found that Jorve was the best fit for my family. They provided a detailed description of work, thorough attack on existing problems and CLEAR commitments to meet the manufacturer's specifications and to used legitimate labor. Furthermore, the warranty was not a confusing legal document, simple straight forward commitment to be responsible for the work they quoted. The job went with out a problem. They started on time, worked through the complications my estimator expected, installed every detail correctly, finished and cleaned up better than before work began. I AM TOTALLY HAPPY WITH JORVE! Pros: professionals on the roof Cons: price felt high but the value was clearly a good investment more

GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!! 9/22/2008

GREAT EXPERIENCE! We live in a 20 year old all shake roof neighborhood in mukilteo and everyone is roofing, most going to comp. After seeing a roof put on our neighbors house in back of us by a local roofer we were pretty worried about having this done for us. The roofers were swearing back and forth to each other, enjoying a rock concert from their boom box, and were less than appealing with their shirts off. We talked to many of our Friends that have worked with contractors and many talked about or knew about Jorve. After meeting with many roofers Jorve did stand out as being Knowledgeable, prompt and professional so we went with Jorve. from the start it was a very good experience. The foreman Oscar was very comforting in addressing all of our concerns on a daily basis backed by a field supervisor Jay, that also stopped by to check on things. The Crew was all in Jorve shirts, polite and wore safety ropes (something we haven't seen in the area). Well in 3 short days our new roof, skylights, fascia and gutters were done!!! Turns out there is a difference in roofers, our roof is one of the best looking ones on the street (our neighbors tell us) and we have to agree. After all is said and done Jorve was the best choice that we could have made, in fact our new Migard windows just got delivered and Jorve is going to install them next, cant wait! More good news to follow. Thanks Jorve.\r \r more

Set fire to my house for $7K 6/10/2008

Initially, my impression of Jorve was good. The estimate was higher than most but everyone was extremely pleasant. We chose them in spite of the price due to their reputation and warranty. \r \r They recommended a torchdown roof on a dormer on the back of our 1924 house as it was relatively flat compared to the rest of the house. We agreed to the $13K estimate as well as their recommendations and paid a 10% downpayment to get started. \r \r All went well until the last day of work. My husband received a call from someone at Jorve telling him our roof was on fire!. Apparently while finishing the torchdown roof a fire had started inside the attic and as the wood is ~80 years old, the fire spread quickly.\r \r The end result? The lathe and plaster walls and ceilings were destroyed, our upstairs has been gutted to studs, the roof has to be torn off, wiring on the main floor needs to be replaced, we have holes drilled in the walls on our main floor to prevent mold, and some ceilings and walls on the main floor will probably need repairs as well. In total, >$100K damage.\r \r It's been 2 months since the fire. We've lost family photos, spent hours going through clothing, itemizing lost possessions, estimating the worth of things like tupperware and linens, we don't have all of our clothes, and have had to move into an apartment. It's a total headache and will be so for another 4-6 months while our upstairs is rebuilt.\r \r From our perspective, we've paid nearly $7K for Jorve to destroy our house and belongings, and to deal with a 6 month headache. We asked for a refund as compensation and were told no as technically we'll have a roof at the end of all of this, not to mention upgrades to get our house up to code. What a bargain!\r \r I'm appalled and insulted by this rationale. I would gladly have paid the full $13K to avoid all of this. My final thought? If everything goes well with your job Jorve will be fine. However, they will NOT take care of you if anything goes wrong. more

Great sales & marketing - poor interior work, poor customer service, work not corrected one year later 6/22/2007

Jorve actively solicited our bathroom remodel after doing our roof, siding, gutters, downspouts, and skylights. The exterior work was basically good with a few small details that needed correction. They corrected 2 of 5 problems. The remaining 3 were small, and apparently got lost. One of these was a leaking downspout we had someone else fix.\r \r The interior work was terrible.\r \r The bathroom they started in early July 2006 is still not completed as of June 21, 2007. This job, by all professional estimates should have been completed in 2 -3 weeks. They tore out the wrong bathroom wall by mistake, making two bathrooms unusable. They had unqualified people doing the work. They then had unqualified people making corrections. Exterior laborers and sheet rock people did most of the plumbing and electricity. These same people also did everything else. Jorve employees did damage to our house such as badly scratching newly installed oak floors and banging up newly installed and painted doors. There was a lot of other damage as well.\r \r We have had excuses, empty promises and stonewalls. We still have plumbing leaks, cracked tiles, sheetrock in need if repair , and a myriad of other corrections that have to be done. They have not yet fixed the plumbing, floors, sheetrock , tile or anything else. They have over the months sent unqualified people to do partial fixes that do not really correct any problem.\r more

Sub par customer service 12/20/2006

The problem with Jorve roofing is they lure you in with a better-than-average sales team (of 2 for us) who comes to your house and creates a nice proposal (pictures, details of what's to be done.) Once they have you signed to a contract, that level of service vanishes. From missed timelines to shody work, Jorve failed to match their promises with work delivered.\r \r I could go into details, but the summary of it all is they are not a company that makes you feel good through out the project. Project managers should be on the job site at the first sign of a problem; We never even saw our project manager in the 6 MONTHS it took to complete the roofing/sky light job on an 1100 Sq ft house.\r \r From the begining, they were great, but beware of what happens after the contract. And make sure you are very vocal THROUGH OUT the job about getting it done right the first time (i.e. ""Don't strip those screws!!"", or "" Would you mind cleaning the mess you made?!"")\r \r If we had to do it again, we would've gone with A Better Roofing as they were the second choice (out of Jorve, Bruce's, Home Depot, and A Better.) Their prices may be ala carte, but Jorve should be performing much better considering they WERE NOT the cheapest out of the 4.\r \r Summary:\r Missed timelines (And not even showing up on certain weeks)\r shody work (""That is NOT done, don't even tell me you intend to leave that like that!"")\r Broken promises\r Lame follow up from management\r Expensive for this?!?! more
