I love the food and atmosphere at Jerry's. But they don't know how to deliver your order right and on-time. Totally screwed up order delivered 1.5 hours late ! Thanks to Grub Hub all was made right. GH is fantastic, and can't control all it's restaurants, my suggestion is to take Jerry's off the list. Go to the diner in person if want to eat there with the surely waitresses and great food. more

awful food. Never will eat there again. Ordered chicken sandwich, everything came on the side, bread was hard, chicken dry. Egg breakfast, eggs tasted fake. more

We ended here for breakfast because the place we were looking for was closed. Although the food was ok (I had poached eggs with potatoes and toast), service was slow and the price was very steep for the product they offer. On a good note, I liked the old school decor, but they really need to invest on new booth covers. more

Despite its bad rating on Urbanspoon, I went to Jerry's last week It is no good from beginning to end. Read the reviews and believe them!\r I had a Corned Beef sandwich and a soda. I was prepared for the cost, because I had read Urbanspoon, but the meat was cold and dry. The soda was flat. When I told the waiter about the soda, he took it away and brought another flat one. \r Next, I asked for mustard. They were out of Brown mustard. I couldn't believe it. I insisted in a restaurant that size, there must be some brown mustard. Nope. OK , bring me the yellow mustard. Back he comes and tosses two little take-out packs of mustard on the table. That's the last I saw of him until I waved down a busboy to get the check.\r Now this is so unusual, I have put it last. I am a big man by anyone's standards. When I ordered, the waiter suggested that half a sandwich would probably be enough. The sandwich is $17.00. How much is half a sandwich, I ask. Two dollars off, he says. Bring me the whole sandwich, I say, which was ordinary in size. Why would he suggest a half a sandwich of ordinary size to an obviuosly big eater. \r Apparently, they would rather sell a half for $15.00, than a whole for $17.00. \r My feeling is they are looking for victims, not customers. more

Ok but overpriced food. Terrible service! The place was empty and they took forever to serve us or refill our drinks. I will not go back. The pastries looked good through the display though. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 7/1/2012

Burned toast, flavorless grits, half-burned english muffin, cold eggs, cold ham and a forgotten potato pancake that we were told would take another 20 minutes after our food arrived. What a shame because the location is prime! more

Food was quite good. The service, however, was horrific. Our waitress barely acknowledged us throughout the entire meal, and was gruff and rude when she did. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 4/21/2012

Yikes. Food did indeed arrive quickly, but the price and lack of attention almost made it not worth it. Don't get me wrong, food is very tasty. But if you expecting a helpful waitstaff (I.e to refill your drinks, clear your plates, ask you if you need anything etc) you can forgetta about it. more

We had a very late Sunday brunch at Jerry's. My wife and I shared a Turkey Pastrami sandwich on Rye. It is over stuffed and huge (half sandwiches are available). My kids each had a scrambled egg platter with toast and potatoes. The food was good, the service friendly and prompt. We finished the meal with a dessert of Ice cream with a brownie - it was huge even for four of us.\r Given the mixed reviews we were a little apprehensive, and originally went to Maxine's a couple blocks away. When our food never showed up there we finally left and came to Jerry's. We were glad we did. The place isn't fancy, and maybe a wee bit run down, but the food and service were good with OK prices. They have signs with the logos of Wolfie's and Rascal House. They apparently purchased rights to those names. It is a similar style restaurant as those restaurants that no longer exist.\r Perhaps others have had a different experience, but we had absolutely no problems and really enjoyed our meal. The service and food delivery that were fast by any possible standards and seemed even better and faster given our experience from Maxine's where we had to leave after waiting over an hour for food that never showed up.\r So, good food, fast pleasant attentive service and fair prices. It was a good experience, and would go back if we are in the area again. more

This past Sunday evening, and after ordering our sandwiches at Jerry's Famous Deli, our waiter told us they were out of pastrami. So I asked the waiter what Jerry was famous for and he said pastrami. Nice. He then proceeded to screw up our order with little concern. High prices, bad service does not make up for mediocre food. more

I orders the blintz,s they were old and hard. Coffee was old and bad as well. Place looks run down and dirty. Save some money and pass this place by. I'm afraid that "Jerry's" will become "famous" for bad food. more

It's pricey, but worth it. We ordered chocolate chip, whole wheat pancakes with sliced bananas and whipped cream - yes, we're overgrown children- and a Greek omelette. The food was excellent! The service was great - friendly, attentive waitress. I will be back the next time I visit Miami. more

OK, so first off, any deli with the word famous in it's title MUST spell disaster! Goldberg's famous in Bellevue, WA for instance (hideous).\r \r After letting the meal sink in for a couple of days, I felt the need to add to my quick mobile review,.\r \r I will say that the meal at Jerry's was a memorable one, memorable for the huge hole in my wallet and the lump in my stomach that lasted for days after.\r \r Pining for the deli of my New York youth, and recalling from a previous trip to Miami Beach, I wanted deli. We found Jerry's on the map, and hoped it would be good. I assumed that it was the place that I was at years ago, and thought that Jewish Deli in Miami Beach would be awesome.\r \r One look at the menu, should have sent us packing, looking for a nice Cuban sandwich around the corner.\r \r The prices were just ABSURD! But we were tired, and needed to eat. \r \r My partner had 1/2 a turkey sandwich, which was decent, bread, not so great. And expensive! $9.95, with tiny side of coleslaw.\r \r I had the huge disappointment of the day. Brisket. At least it was not dry!! What is was, was fatty! The fattiest piece of brisket I have ever seen in my life (bubby would roll over in her grave if she saw that). $15.95 for a whole sandwich, $2.95 extra for some nasty fries.\r \r Oh, ya, and did we want pickles? Two tiny, vinegar dills from a grocery store is what we got. WTF??? Those were NOT deli pickles!!!\r \r I ate it, I was hungry, and I was disappointed. And as the day wore on, I became more and more so, and the knot in my stomach from that nasty beef became tighter and tighter.\r \r I expected better, much better.\r \r Total rip-off! Insane prices, nasty food.\r \r I will say that our server, a nice girl from Queens, was great, very nice, and gave excellent service.\r \r AVOID this place.... it is a disaster!!!!!! more

Brisket was all FAT!!! $19 for whole sandwich + fries. Outrageous. Service was good, quick and pleasant. Fodd, should be avoided at all costs. more

Love the brisket!! Only place in South Beach to get it.. more

I came to Jerry's Deli in search of nothing more than a tasty sandwich and refreshing drink. Not only was the burger I order extremely dry and tasteless, but the long island must have been made by someone who is foreign to the actual long island recipe. To top off the extremely disappointing food, we had to seat ourselves, and then waited over 10 minutes before finally resorting to asking someone to send us a server. The server was less than thrilled to serve us, and provided us with one of the WORST dining experiences I have ever had. I am a server myself, and I NEVER give less than a 20% tip. However, after this server basically threw the bill at me, and then took the pen away after I had voiced to him I had not yet finished filling out the bill...I decided he deserved nothing more than 10%...and that was generous. To top everything off, I talked to the manager who didn't seem to care one bit about my AWFUL experience, never saying sorry once. Save yourself from the extremely overpriced excuse for real food and aggravating service...DO NOT EAT AT JERRY'S. more

Jerrys Famous Deli.... The "famous" should be changed to "Infamous"... I've travelled the world and have been to Many and all types of resturants...trusting my iPhone google locator... I wanted a good deli sandwich and ventured into this over-priced and overrated establishment.... Studying the vast menu..., and noting that 1/2 a sandwich was 10.75.....a whole up to 17.95... I thought... Wow it's gotta be good! WRONG! I ordered 1/2 as the waitress suggested... Pastrami with muenster on rye.... Sandwich served cold, not that great..... But the most astonishing thing was that the 1/2 sandwich at 10.75....was.... 17.95 .... Because they charged an extra 7.95 for cheese!!! If you eat here.... Remember to grab your own ankles ! more
