Nice view, mediocre to bad food, on its way out. 2/7/2009

I took my wife here for Valentine's day as a surprise. The view from 19 floors up in Downtown Milwaukee was exceptional and overall a fun experience. Pros: Unique view (in Milwaukee) Cons: Mediocre to bad food, average service, expensive more

I will never go back! 12/22/2008

I brought my family and our friends who were visiting from Mexico. I have never been more disappointed in a meal. There are exactly 7 entrees on the menu including 1 vegetarian entree. The prices are ridiculous-$26.00-$38.00 for the most mediocre food I've had in a long time and that does not include soup or salad. Good vegetables make the meal for me and my Walleye was not only unremarkable but only included a small amount of cooked greens between the two small pieces of fish. The service was like a fast food restaurant. I had to wait for a our food before I saw the waitress again to ask for more hot water for my tea. For 7 people our bill, which included only one beer, was exactly $250.00--$40.00 tip was included on the bill. I figure the waitress makes at least 3-4x what I make per hour. If you want to see the view have a drink at the bar but don't waist your money on the food and the poor service with a mandatory 20% tip!! Pros: The view-- It's the only reason people would put up with the food. Cons: All the rest. more

The only thing going for it is the view 9/9/2008

Many things were disappointing, and it was obvious that if the view was not there to attract customers, the restaurant would have undergone renovations and staff changes a long time ago just to keep people coming. The chairs were uncomfortable, the plates had grey marks on them from being so old and the windows were dirty. The decor was also old and uninspiring, and portable serving tables were left in the open. One of the female staff spilled water everywhere when she was pouring. more

Polaris Restaurant 8/21/2007

Great little restaurant for those who are tourists. The spinning restaurant is at the top of the Hyatt and it over looks the city of Milwaukee. We went here at night, so it was neat to see the city lights. Service was great, very friendly and talkative. We only ordered drinks and tirisimu. Good food, but if you are the motion sickness type, just be careful. I liked how it was unique, but the spinning restaurant might not mix well with food and drinks. Pros: Polaris Restaurant Cons: May get dizzy from the spinning more

Romantic and Great Rib Roast! 2/18/2007

Great rib roast! The rib roast was juicy and spiced well and cooked exactly the way I wanted it. The best steak I ever had. My girlfriend and I went for valentine's day she did not like the place two years ago but was also very impressed with the steak and service. Great for special occasion dining and best veiw of milwaukee. I will definitely return. Pros: Great Steak, service, very classy, and not rush. Cons: Pricey but worth it more

Polaris Revolving Restaurant 6/8/2006

My boyfriend recently took me for a romantic dinner at the Polaris Restaurant on top of the Hyatt Regency Downtown. The food was very tasty but this review is more about the location and atmosphere because for me they were the highlight of the evening.\r \r As you dine you are slowly turned to a 360 degree view of the downtown area. At night this is awesome with the well lit buildings and streets and clear night sky. The view was spectacular and it made for a very romantic evening all around. more

Okay hotel...nothing special 4/4/2006

This hotel is a nice, cheap place to stay if you're visiting Milwaukee. The rooms are average and price is good. We usually stay there if we are coming up for a Brewers/Marquette game as it's a great location to downtown attractions.\r \r However, if you're looking for a NICE hotel in Milwaukee, for sure look into others, such as the Pfister or Hotel Metro. more

True Perspective 12/25/2005

I think the best perspective of downtown Milwaukee is definitely from Polaris. For romantic evenings, family dinners, or just grabbing a bite at a fun destination, Polaris is perfect for all of these. Check it out! You won't be disappointed. Pros: validation/parking, atmosphere, view more

Only OK 4/8/2003

I picked this hotel because of the Hyatt name and good downtown location. The parking was expensive and the room was only fair. The bathroom grout was all moldy-gross! I ate at the Pilsner restaurant in the hotel and had slow service and a very stained coffee cup. Pros: Good location Cons: Lots of loud families, Expensive parking, Not too clean more

Love it! 11/5/2002

i would definately recommend the Polaris to anyone in Milwaukee. The atmosphere, menu, and service gives it class along with the intamacy desired for a romantic evening. It provides you with a stunning panoramic view of the city, and if you aren't familiar with the area, the windows have plaques on them, labeling what building you are seeing when you look out each specific window! Pros: Uncrowded, good service, great atmosphere Cons: bad parking, a bit pricy more
