On Top of the Game 12/7/2010

I have been working closely with a gentleman by the name of Andy Pokorny in regards to becoming a future tenant. I just wanted to take a moment, and say a few things about him. First of all, I work in an industry based on customer service and superior patient care. Most of my experience with other people in a similar line of work fall far from my expectations. It is very rare that I meet someone who is exceptional in their line of work; especially in the property management field. From the very first time I spoke with Andy, he has been on top of his game. He was very polite and answered all of my questions. Believe it or not, it is a rare quality now a days in people. I bombarded him with a million questions, and he answered as many as he could. The questions he could not answer on the spot, were followed up with an e-mail the next day with the answers. His customer service is amazing. It is only because of his hard work, that we are going to move forward with renting this property. more

I would say I am a patient and passive person and normally do not complain. However, I do not want anyone else to experience what I have had to go through for a year in my relationship with HOMEPOINT. As a homeowner I chose the nearest management company as I felt they would be more responsive to the tenant and know the local market. What a mistake. I should have checked around! And don't let their 10% fee fool you. Just because they charge the highest fee around, does not make them the best. In fact they are probably the worst property management company available. Can we say unprofessional. They could never get my statement out on time, and they submit it electronically online on their own website. It was not like they had to put a statement in the mail to me. The tenant always paid Homepoint on the 1st of every month. I usually received my portion electronically after the 23rd of the month. Every month they were trying to sneak in extra fees or incorrectly do the math trying to cheat me as the owner. Their response was always office error. ""I will let the girls know."" From month to month I could never count on how much I would receive from them. I thought that by hiring a management company I was getting a team. They do not work as a team in this outfit. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. While they play the blame game and back stab each other in the office. I was expecting to be getting someone to do the work for me and take the burden off of me. Wow! Was I mistaken. I was more stressed then if I had just left the home vacant. I could never reach them by phone to correct their errors or check up on repairs. I had to send email after email. I have a job, I didn't want to have to do theirs! When I gave the keys to my property to Homepoint, it was beautiful. I had just finished a complete remodel. They took almost six months to rent it, they kept lowering the rent and saying they couldn't get qualified tenants. All this while they were still charging me the 10% fee and using up advertising dollars. Which worked out to about $300 by the way. I would have been able to rent it myself and I should have. They charged me twice in one year for a walk thru inspection. This is to give the owner a false sense that they are looking after your property. As after the year was up I found the carpets were ruined, soiled beyond cleaning, and the walls were busted. The repairs that Homepoint had charged me for were never completed. The poor tenant! After our year contract was up, they took another 60 days to get the tenants deposit back to me. They are only looking out for themselves. They could careless about the owner or the tenant. I will never use Homepoint again, and would not recommend that you do ever!! more

I really wish there was a negative star rating. My experience with this company was so bad that it has caused me to write probably the only review of a business I ever will. There are already a lot of really bad reviews for this company, but they list some nice homes and the people who show the homes were actually quite friendly, so I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. This was a mistake. The people who work in the office are absolutely awful. They ranged from incompetent and unprofessional to belligerent and literally balled fist rage filled shaking. The accounts manager I dealt with was one of the rudest, most inappropriate people I have ever met. She actually seemed crazy. This was the worst experience I have ever had with any kind of company. RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY. God help the people who rent through this company... more

HomePointe Poor...illigal procedures 10/2/2010

Completely unresponsive to emergent pages. If and when you get a response, they may or may not act on it. In one year of renting from HomePointe, I had two emergencies involving plumbing with water damage. The first time they failed to respond for 3 days then never came to act on it (fixed it myself). The second time I paged them for damage occurring from unknown cause...they took over 8 hours to respond by phone (left 5 urgent messages on HomePointe emergency system). It took 1 1/2 days to act on it. When they came to fix it, they didn't know what to do. HomePointe makes up their own rules (mostly involving ways to keep your deposit) but fortunately they fail to adhere to the law. ""hello, is this the Attorney Generals office...did you receive my complaint?"" more

Jason Pickens has been very professional and extremely responsive in our one year of using HomePointe to manage our rental property. We had fears of living 500 miles from our rental home but Jason has handled everything promptly and efficiently which has made our lives easier. And he just secured another lease with our renters which is a great comfort to us. more

Worst property management out there!!! 5/13/2010

As a home owner: treated me unrespectively when they are taking about 8-10% of my rent as a management company.\r \r Secondly, lower my rent without my consent and without even notifying me about the change.\r \r Their tenant as well as mine: I have had complaints from tenants whenever I run over to visit my house to see if the management is doing their job as I am paying them to do so. It's hard enough for me to reach them as a management company, How are the tenants able to do so??? I'm frustrated in the bad quality of work they are doing with managing my home and taking care of the tenants.\r \r Propective Owner or Renters: Make sure that you have a reasonable person to contact. They might have a lot more choices to pick from but I'd let you know that I will no longer be working with homepointe after this last issues. Cons: Rediculously unreasonable! more

They don't deserve any star ratings at all! The worst people I have ever dealt with in my entire life! I don't think they will be around much longer. I plan on suing them and will dig as much dirt as I can on these idiots! Especially Greg Bomhoff. He acts like some public hero in the community when he has zero people skills and is all ego and arrogance. His ""little people"" public should read about his ""real"" personality here ...he may be an athletic runner and all around good guy with his fundraisers for schools, yet his professional skills fall extremely short...just like he himself :-) Cons: plenty more
