The buffet is a good value--excellent pita and hummus too. Plated orders can be a bit pricey. I ordered a falafel sandwich and it was >$7 for just the sandwich (no sides). Have gone a few times and it can get crowded. The parking lot is in the back but it's really cramped and tough to maneuver, especially in the snow. Better to just park on the street if you can. Sometimes it's packed for dinner--possible that I just came during Ramadan and it was not the norm.\r \r Would recommend for people who would like to try middle eastern food, but be aware the service is pretty minimal and it can be crowded. more

The first time I went to Holy Land, I had one of the chicken sandwiches with both cucumber and hot sauce, and it was really good. The sauces really made the sandwich for me. I've gone back 3 more times and ordered the same thing, and all 3 times they've forgotten the sauce. They type it in the computer when I order (and charge me for the ""extra"" sauce, I think), and every time, no sauce. Shame on me for forgetting to check at this point, but it makes me really angry. Without the hot sauce to excite my taste buds, the chicken is bland. Overall, Holy Land is cheap and you get a lot of food, but every time I go there I'm increasingly disappointed. I grew up in Lebanon and have always struggled to find the proper ingredients to cook Lebanese food, until I visited this grocery store. I finally found Labneh, Jallab syrup, fresh Lebanese cheeses like Baladi and even Kri-kri! All perishable foods are fresh and there is a great selection. I did not have a chance to taste the cafe foods but was very happy to find fresh Khobez and even Italian pastries.\r Highly recommended!\r Pros: Variety, availability of products, freshness. more

I used to like Holy Land, but then I tried Marina Grill (4755 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis)/ Marina Grill & Deli (2424 University Ave NE, Minneapolis). The former chef of Holy Land started Marina and so now Holy Land doesn't even come close. Marina has an excellent buffet with excellent choices, not the nasty one like Holy Land.\r \r Marina has larger space, more food options, better hummus/grape leaves/spinach pies/falafel/gyro/etc, friendlier service. Also, Marina's catering is cheaper and much better than Holy Land's. Holy Land's food used to be good, but now I have heard of so many people getting sick from it. This place is great! The grocery store has a wide selection. The produce is fresh, the olive & feta deli are amazing, the breadth of choices for all the various types of pita etc are amazing! The restaurant next store is really good, fresh, and the buffet is also good! \r Hummus, Feta, Olives, can't be beat! more

This place has the best falafel in town. 2 out of the 4 times I ate their my order was wrong.\r The first time was a mistake, but the last time the Cook says when I am at the counter to\r get my food, ""You are going to be dissapointed, I didn't fix your order"", and the order was wrong.\r Some restaurants try to please thier customers until they are tired of seeing your face.\r I guess I'll cook my own falafel. more

and my boyfriend wants a gyros, this is the only place I EVER think of- especially if I want casual and inexpensive. The buffet lunch is great and a HUGE value. Friendly staff, and a frequent diner card to boot!!! Pros: inexpensive , YUMMY, selections Cons: , parking, weekend crowds more
