I can't understand why this lady, Brigette, is being so negative with Kathy. I've been a client of hers for several years (maybe 6) and she gives me wonderful perms and hair cuts. I am very pleased with the results. I have perms about 2-3 months apart because my hair grows very fast and is gray and the texture will not hold a perm for any length of time. She listens to me when I want a different style or tightness in the perm and we work together to get the best results. When you go to an establishment and ask their advice and they make suggestions, it is up to you to make the decision. You are an adult with a mind and voice, so it is not Kathy's fault that the hair style and highlights weren't up to your expectations. It will grow out and you can start again. Why trash her establishment because you weren't happy. She is doing the best she can with the suggestions you give her. The lady, Brigette, reminds me of someone who goes to a restaurant, orders the meal, eats the meal and then complains that they didn't get the best service and walk out without payment... I have highly recommend Kathy and Hello Gorgeous to all my friends and family. I feel great when I come out with a perm or a simple haircut. She deserves respect and payment for her work. more

I've had a lot of haircuts in my life and although most of them looked great when walking out of the salon they would lose their sparkle after about a week. So I waited a week after my first appointment with Dana to write this review so I could really be sure of how amazing she is. This woman is a miracle worker. My hair shows every flaw in a haircut so I'm always having to work around the little bits I'm trying to hide until my next appointment, but not this time. I don't have to do anything to it and it looks amazing but if I choose to curl it or put it back, it looks spectacular. The style is 100% in the cut and it is perfection. Dana was so sweet as were the two other stylists in the salon. Everything was clean and neat. I felt right at home. more

Dana is divine! I came in with a train-wreck cut that Dana was not only able to repair but make me look amazing! She also corrected my own attempts at coloring without making me feel like I was silly! She listens and offers suggestions as well as a style that I can repeat in my daily life. I have already switched my mom and daughter to her and have told every friend. I completely trust her with my hair. She is flexible, patient and does not rush! She also has an amazing personality! She is a the complete package in a hair stylist! more

Anna is awesome. She does a great job of listening to my ever changing desires with my hair cuts. No matter if I just want a trim or a huge change on a whim she is there to listen and do whatever I want. more

Anna is great! I have been looking for a person who can cut curly hair and have never found a person till her! I go in and tell her to just make me look good most times and by the time I am finished, I exactly what I wanted. She is the BEST! And I tend to stick with people I love so I am willing to drive the hour to come and see her in Hillsboro when I live in Gresham! Yes , I drive and hour to see her and it is well worth it. You will never find a better hair stylist around! more

I have had many hairdressers in the last 10 years, but one day I walked into a salon wanting a serious change- long hair to very short. That is when I found Anna. She is intelligent, she actually listens, she makes me feel at ease, and she is a hair magician! She is extremely talented and gifted at what she does. You, and your hair, will love her!!! more

Ok so I just had the most amazing experience with Kathy I have been going to her for my hair needs for a few years now and she always seems to know exactly what I want and keeps me up to date ,which is hard being a single mom and all,not having to much time to look into that , and NOW she is offering this BRILLIANT little magic in a bottle called THE BRAZILIAN BLOWOUT and WOW talk about blowing out MY MIND, my hair is amazing , before it would take me about 15 mins to blow dry my hair(and mind you I have a short A-line cut) and then flat iron the back was almost impossible so it looked all funky most of the time, BUT NOW WOW ,I get out of the shower blow dry my hair for about 7 minutes and BAM!!!. that's all I need to do and my hair looks like i just walked out of the Salon , I still can't believe it , I just LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!.. Thanks Kathy for always helping me look my best,and in return feeling my best, I highly recommend going to see her for your everyday hair care and to have a awesome conversation with, she is like a 76 one stop and done :) .. NEVER GOING ANYWHERE ELSE !!!! more

I just got a Brazilian Blowout from Carolyn at Hello Gorgeous and I love my hair. My hair was a disaster dry, over chemicaled and brittle. By using The Brazilian Blowout , Carolyn made my hair more manageable, smoother and removed most of the frizz which makes it so much easier and faster to style in the morning! I also got my hair colored, cut, highlighted and styled and I love it. I had a horrible color job that need to be corrected and she was able not only to correct it but make it look great! I will definitely be going back to Carolyn at Hello Gorgeous in the future!!! more

I have strictly been going to Kathy for about 4 years. I absolutely love her and the way she does my hair. She knows the latest trends and understands what will or will not work with my stubborn hair. Last week I got a new Keratin Treatment that she is now offering and it is AMAZING! It's cut the amount of time I spend on my hair in half and it looks so healthy now. I highly recommend going to Kathy and trying this new treatment. My hair actually listens now! more

You will love Kathy at Hello Gorgeous Beauty Parlor, she is a sweet heart, always doing a great job! I have been going to her for about 4 years & never once have I not been happy. I am not a person that likes to take very long to do my hair, but I do want to look nice. She gives me great easy ideas I can work with. She also has saved me from many looks that with my thin hair would not look good at all, I can always count on her true thoughts & help for what fits my looks & life style. I feel like I'm with my girl friend getting my hair done. You will love to know Kathy stays up to date on style, she has been a hairdresser for almost 30 years & is very big on education. Kathy can do an array of styles!!! I love that. I always feel so happy when Kathy styles my hair. I have gone to many hair styliests over the years, but Carolyn Clemens is the best! She listens to what you want and does it! (I've had many that don't) She is pleasant and skilled. I have my hair colored regularly and she does a beautiful job. I have always been satisfied. She's the first stylist that I have gone to that I can actually go out after having my hair done and not have to go home and fix it. I recommend her to people all the time and they always come back happy. I will never change hair stylists again :) more

Carolyn Clemens of Hello Gorgeous has provided great styling services for my family for more than a dozen years. I always have a great time at the beauty salon and feel relaxed and confident that I will love my hair. Whether getting a simple cut, highlights, or a perm I know she will only use the best products and offer great advice when I don't know what I want. Both of my daughters will trust no one but Carolyn with their hair. One daughter has very curly hair and the other very thick- straight hair that Carolyn keeps looking healthy and stylish. I have been fortunate to have found the best Hair Stylist in the Portland Metropolitan Area...Carolyn Clemens! I have followed Carolyn to a couple different salons and am excited about her moving to ""Hello Gorgeous"". She has been cutting and coloring my hair for over 10 years. I will not go to another Stylist. Carolyn is committed to Customer Satisfaction. She wants to make sure her client gets what they want and are happy with their hair when she is done. I always feel great about my hair and myself when she is done. After going to her only once, she knew my hair and she got to know me as well. She has a friendly yet professional demeanor. She makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. With previous hair stylists, I would always worry about how my hair would turn out and never felt comfortable saying something if I was not satisfied. With Carolyn, I do not worry because I know I am in great hands. From beginning to end, I have a great experience. One of the best parts is the awesome head and neck massage that she does when washing my hair. She also helped to educate me about my hair type and offer tips on products or what not to use. As my hair changed with pregnancies and getting a little older (read - grayer), she let me know how those changes affect my hair as well. What I really love is that she is amazing with color. She can do subtle colors that look natural; she will also do bold colors for those who like flair. On several occasions, she has told me of the times when people come to her to correct the bad coloring that they have done to themselves or had done at other salons. I cannot imagine using anyone else and highly recommend Carolyn for your next hair-care experience and all that follow. more

Carolyn Clemens has been cutting, coloring, and styling my hair for as long as I can remember...probably going on 15 years now. I am extremely picky when it comes to how my hair is cut/colored and do not trust many people, which is why when I found Carolyn, I have not left. She is new to Hello Gorgeous, but definitely not new to the trade of hair styling. Not only does she do my hair just how I like/ask, she is always sharing tips and products about how to keep my hair healthy and looking great! Carolyn Clemens is new to Hello Gorgeous, but she has been doing my hair for 8 years. She is very experienced and talented at color and cuts! She highlights my hair every visit. She weaves the color in with such precision, I leave looking like a natural blonde. Carloyn also just gave me the best haircut - I showed her a picture and she totally nailed it. I found Kathy by looking through CitySearch and I was skeptical. I was wrong to be skeptical. She's great. Amazing really. She got what I was saying right away. She knew exactly how to make me look my best. I thought it would be expensive but it was extremely affordable. I've found my new hairdresser. more

I've never written a negative review before and I told myself to wait a week before writing a negative review for this stylist thinking maybe the bad haircut would improve with time. Well, I've waited over a month and I still can't believe (and even sympathetic friends and relatives agree) how terrible my hair looks. I made an appointment with Kathy based on the reviews I read here that stated she ""understood"" how to cut curly hair. Oh how wrong (or fake!) they were! I wanted a few inches taken off my long spiral hair, with a few long layers in the back with some short spirals around my face. I don't think she listened to me at all. Instead, Kathy turned my long spiral curls into a short layered, frizzy, razor cut mess. I've come to terms with the fact that it will take years to get my hair long enough to cut off the fraying, razor cut layers. I've since read many articles by real curly hair stylists and confirmed with curly haired friends that razor cuts are the WORST for curly hair. (I never had a stylist ever suggest using a razor on my hair so I didn't even know what the razor was.) And lots of short layers in the curliest part of your hair = a poodle poof look. (Don't even non-stylists know this?) I feel bad saying all this, and Kathy may indeed do a good job on some types of hair, but I feel compelled to help curly girls avoid my mistake. more
