Ruined my year 9/10/2012

I called in advance to let this vet know that my dog was in heat and I needed to board my male AND female. Neither had been fixed. I asked if this was a problem and there quick answer was ofcourse not. So I took both of my labs in to be boarded for about a week and a half. I mentioned again once walking into the door that my female was in heat and that they needed to be kept seperately. As I began to fill out and sign the paperwork, one of the vet technicians came up and asked if my dog was in heat and said that they were locked up in the back. They tried to convince me that my dog probably wasn't pregnant after one lockup. I asked if she was what the options were because I do not have the time or facilities to raise a litter of puppies as I stay in an extremely small apartment. They said to bring her in at 40 days and they could take an xray and spay her if needed.\r \r Well at 37 days, I called back and said she was definitely pregnant and what they were going to do to help. Over Priced! Harris Blvd Vet is great...except the prices are outrageous. Seriously... 65 dollars for a ""sick visit"", when my dog was not sick she just needed a skin scrape. the first time I took a dog there it was 220 dollars for a wellness exam, shots, hw and fecal. They over charge you and will do anything to get more money out of you. The front desk is nice and helpful, but as I said the price is not worth it!! more

TERRIBLE 4/27/2011

This Animal Hospital is so over priced. They have changed all of their staff members and their manager is so rude never wants to be polite as if she is so angry. Every time I come up there I see different people and no one really knows what is going on. On several occasions I have heard people yell at the animals in the back, while I was sitting in a lobby and it scared me to even leave my dogs there. I have 2 pit bulls and they are so sweet and last week was my very last time going there. Only God knows what they do to my pets while I am away. Receptionist is very rude and always short on the phone. This young male doctor is so ignorant and very stupid like. I do not trust him at all. Only doctor that sees my dogs is female doctor Horten. She is amazing.\r \r In my opinion they need to bring their old staff members back and fire all of these people. more

Competent, Caring & Friendly Staff 3/19/2010

I adopted an 8 yo Beagle and found this clinic online. For 1-1/2 years, we were treated like family. Gracie was seen by Dr. Horton, Dr. Cheeseman and Dr. Loveless. and received the best of care by all. Sadly, I had Gracie put down last year and Dr. Cheeseman tried to prepare me. She thought Gracie was older than I was told, and knew she had serious problems. When I took her to be put down, it was the most loving and compassionate service that ever could be offered. One of the nurses put a blanket on the floor so that I could hold Gracie, and while I was trying hard to keep it together, Dr. Cheeseman let her tears flow as she administered the cocktail to Gracie. Now I have another 8 yo and of course we go to Harris Blvd. Vet Clinic. Pros: Caring, friendly and they really love animals Cons: The wait time -- they hate to turn patients away more

Wonderful Vet 10/20/2009

I recently moved to Charlotte and as a housewarming gift my brother gave me a puppy. Per the breeders instructions I had 72 hours to take the dog to the vet and get a checkup. If I didn't I couldn't get a refund of my money if anything was wrong with the dog. Pros: caring and considerate more

Fantastic awesome caring vets and great staff 5/7/2009

We have been going to Harris Blvd. vet clinic for 3 years now. Through that time, They cared for our aging Golden and 6 months after we moved here sadly, we had to put him down. The vets were sooo compassionate. We then adopted our St Bernard. He had some major medical issues and required emergencey surgery to save his life . All the vets came in on their day off and saved him. We just ahd Charlotte our 10 year old St bernard put down as she could no longer walk. The vets were amazing and caring an called us to see how we were. Our 5 yr old St Bernard is doing wonderfully, (the one they operated on). He also went through a second serious surgery. These vets are outstanding. Heather the hospital manager is fantastic. and he staff has always been caring, professional and compassionate towards us.I will go to them as long as they are there. They have us as lifelong clients. Pros: compassion, caring, wonderful people more

Awesome Staff! Fabulous Service! Great Care! 11/16/2008

The staff is INCREDIBLE! Extremely friendly, always greet me by my name and ALWAYS greet my dog with kisses and cuddles. Dr. Cheeseman is an incredible vet. Extremely passionate about the care she provides, and about your pet. I've never felt more comfortable having someone care for my pets, as I do than with the folks at Harris Blvd Vet Clinic. Rubi thinks it's a fun trip to go visit the vet. She gets very excited when I tell her we are going, and thinks it's too much fun. To me, seeing her happy, is a true testament to just how wonderfully treated she is there. She recently had a lump removed from her paw, and I received the best care and follow-up attention that I could have ever asked for. Dr. Cheeseman called us to make sure Rubi was doing well. Everytime I called, the staff always asked how she was doing. If you want quality service, great care, attention to every detail about your pet, and peace of mind knowing your pet is in great hands.....bring them to Harris Boulevard Vet Clinic. You won't be disappointed! Pros: Great staff, informative vets, great service, follow-up care always provided Cons: often have a long wait on Saturdays, so book your appointments during the week more

Johnny on the spot 11/10/2008

I called Harris Blvd Vet Clinic because my cat was hurt, without hesitation they said bring her right in. The girls, Misty and Heather, were so kind and caring, and Dr. Loveless was very patient and took time to explain everything to me. Thank you for being there for us.. more

Great service and People 10/13/2008

I have been coming to this clinic for many many years now. I have never met a great group of people. When you walk into the office, it does not smell like a vet office. When I walked into the clinic, Heather, was all ready for me. She was very up beat and wanted to talk to me about my day and about Daisy my dog. I loved being put into a room right away. Dr Horton, the new Dr, has been a great addition to the staff there. They put my mind at ease about Daisy and I knew that she would be okay. Pros: Smell, Friendly, At home atomesphere, professional service, promptness more

Excellent Service! Above and beyond the norm! 8/15/2008

After moving to North Charlotte, I needed to find a vet for my two cats and dog. Harris Blvd was close to my work, so I chose to go there. I have never gotten such good service anywhere else. I found the staff helpful, and Dr Cheeseman and Dr Lovelace to go above and beyond it caring for my pets- Dr Lovelace has called me at home after sick visits to make sure my animals are doing well. One tech named Heather was very knowledgeable, and spoke with me at length over the phone when I called with a question, and Dr Lovelace called me back within a short time period- and gave me advice that kept me from having to come in. I would send all my friends and family to Harris Blvd, and will use them as my vets for my current and any future pets. Pros: Excellent and caring service, knowledgeable staff, provided good information, called me back promptly. Cons: none that I saw more

Compassionate People 8/14/2008

I just moved to Charlotte and needed to see a vet right away. The women who I spoke to on the phone, Heather, was very kind and caring. She listened to what I had to say and answered all of my questions for me. When we got to the clinic for the visit, I was very excited. The front desk staff has all my paperwork ready for me and had even called my vet back in FL for me that way I could see the vet right away. I saw Dr Lovelace and realy enjoyed how much time he spent with me in the room. I really enjoyed my visit with them and would recommend them to anyone. more

absolutely horrible 8/5/2008

We put our two dogs up to kennel here for four nights. (We just moved to Charlotte and they had not been seen prior to this by a vet at this office.) When we went to go pick them up, we were greeted by the rudest, most unpleasant human being I have ever encountered. After paying for our pets, a fellow vet tech at the front asked if she had applied all discounts. Our rude person patted her on the shoulder and said, of course; then left the room. The fellow vet tech looked over our bill and said that Rude Person had ""forgotten"" to apply a certain discount (about $40, for boarding 2 pets at one time). When Rude Person returned, we told her she had forgotten. She then, VERY rudely, said, ""Well, she can help you with that"" (pointing at fellow vet tech) - even though there were 2 people in line at fellow vet's register! We literally had to stand there while she REFUSED to help us! As we were standing there, she actually offered to help the people in line at fellow vet's line, instead of us! The woman she offered to help was elderly. Rude Person said, ""can I help you?"" and the elderly lady, obviously hard of hearing, said, ""what?"". Rude Person replied, ""fine, stand there all day for all I care."" !!! As we were leaving, we realized we were missing some items we'd dropped off with our dogs. Forced to go back to Rude Person, we explained the situation. She insisted we had everything with us. Finally, we got someone else to help us, and they went back right away and got our missing items. Pros: I have no idea Cons: Unprofessional, rude, mean more

The vets at the Harris Boulevard Veterinary Clinic are very caring professionals who take their time with your pets. I go there for the routine care of my animals and have always been very pleased. more

Best care for your furry family members 5/30/2008

I have been seeing the vets at Harris Boulevard for eight years and have nothing but praises for the staff. These are caring, capable professionals who have taken as good of care of my pets as I could ask for. Routine visits are always smooth, and sick visits are handled with concern and careful detail. When we recently found out our senior golden retriever had cancer, Dr. Lisa Cheeseman carefully delivered the news to us, and both she and Dr. Loveless assisted us through the process of putting her to rest with dignity. I could not have gone through all of that with anyone less caring and compassionate than this team of doctors. My pets will always see the great doctors at Harris Boulevard. more

Dr Loveless and Staff 4/24/2008

I too would highly recommend Dr Loveless to care for your pet. I have entrusted him to my dog during her extended illness over the past year. Even though we eventually lost her, his caring nature, knowledge of her disease, and constant attention to her enabled us to have her much longer I believe than we would have if we had gone to another vet. He was very compassionate to her needs and our devotion to her. He explained to us many times what she was experiencing and advised us on the treatment she needed. We cherished her for over 14 yrs., and he showed great care and concern at the time of her passing. I will entrust him to any pet I may have in the future.Jeff N. more

Great Vet. 7/11/2007

What a great clinic! I had recently relocated to the charlotte area when one of my labs got very sick. I contacted and friend and he recommended I go to Harris Blvd.Vet Clinic it was close by so I figured it would have to do. Wow was I impressed!! They were so caring! Dr. Loveless is just wonderful. I have dealt with various Vets in the 11 + years that I've been a dog owner and never once did the Dr. call me personally just to see how they are doing until Dr. Loveless!! I can't say enough good things about them. more

Chinchilla Care 6/11/2007

I have a chin who had damaged her eye. After calling every exotic pet vet in charlotte this vet was the ONLY one that even said they could definitely help me. I can not even begin to explain how impressed I was. The staff were amazingly caring and sensitive to the pets that were there, just from what I witnessed. The amount of time that Dr. Wheelock took with me and my pet was stunning. Not only did he care for her and get me exactly what I needed to get her back to health but he called an optimologist to ensure that nothing further needed to be followed up. Futher more... He went over general help/care tips for chinchillas. Everything from games I can play, to stimulation and even dieting! Pros: Knowledge, Care and Senserity Cons: Absolutely none. more
