Nice and Easy ordering, cake is the best! 10/22/2008

When i first went in to this store, the owner Ann warmly greeted me like an old friend. I had only been to the locations in the city where I work, but when we moved to the Valley, I was thrilled to find a Hansen's Cakes in Tarzana. The store is smaller than the Fairfax shop, but big on nice.\r She told me how all the cakes are made on Fairfax I was surprised for a minute before I realized that a bakery that makes such imaginative cakes in such a big volume must need a big place to produce them. It made sense. I only wish that I could run in on a Saturday morning and buy a half sheet, but know that I can get one if I just take the time to remember to order it a couple of days in advance. Best Cake Bakery, Wedding Cakes Rock, Birthday and Occasion Cakes! 10/22/2008

The Tarzana location of Hansens Cakes is so charming. It reminds me of a small town bakery, but when you walk in you'll know that you're not in Kansas. The artistry shown is pure Hollywood. The fact that all of the celebrities get their cakes from Hansen's is not lost on me. The other fact that the cakes are not priced out of my league is also a hot point for me. Even more, the fact that the cake is the best tasting cake that I have ever eaten (besides my mom's homebaked cakes) makes hansens Cakes the place that I go to order all of our occasion cakes.\r I have never had any issues with rudeness or anything bad happen. It seems to me that some competitors must have had some negative reviewers add nasty comments, as I have shopped at Hansen's since the 1970s and have had nothing but the very best experiences possible. There is a reason that everyone in Los Angeles knows what a Hansen's Cake is, and they're all good reasons!\r I love this cake. more

Valley's Best Cakes, Delcious. 10/22/2008

When I need a cake in the Valley I go to Hansen's Cakes in Tarzana. The showroom has all the things I need for my party; candles, plates, etc...so I never have to stop at a party store. The people that work there are really nice and helpful. My cake was delivered on time and tasted great. It wasn't overpriced, and they showed me how to cut it properly and where to put it in the trunk so it wouldn't slide and get ruined.\r Pros: parking, service, flavor, look, price more

If you've never had a Hansen's Cake, then you won't know what I am talking about. Their cakes are the most delicious cake available, besides being the most artistically created. If you want perfection, this is the place for you. Kosher dairy, with new gluten-free, vegan, and sugar-free options (for an additional fee) there is no limit to what Hansen's Cakes can do.\r They set the standard when it comes to decorated cakes, but honestly, if you just want a plain cake to take to a dinner party, your friends will be thrilled with the taste!\r Excellent!!! Great tasting cakes 4/9/2008

The Cakes are the best! They have a Cho cake with cho chip cream filling that I haven't had anywhere else and is a must have. all the cakes are moist. This tarzana bakery rocks 9/21/2007

u get what u pay for. We have been going to this store for the last 25 years wedding, birthdays, bar mitzvahs. They have awesome cakes, the cakes taste great you can even try them before you buy them. They use fresh top notch ingrdients, the staff is very helpful polite they have excellent service. This is no costco, ralphs or vons movie stars shop here so u get what u pay for. this store rocks. Pros: ambience great, parking great, service is A++++++++++++++++++ Cons: No complains so far more

BEST CAKE!! 7/9/2007

i had a big debutante party and had no idea where to get a cake. Until our party planner had actually recomeneded Hansens...I was very impressed with the cake they made. it was just right and exactly what i was looking for. i had ordered a 4 tier cake and each tier was a different filling. the taste was not too sweet it was perfect. i would order from them again anytime. ABSOLUTELY, UNBELIEVABLY AWFUL IN EVERY WAY 4/26/2007

Please please please do not give Hansen's your business. The employees chat on the phone while keeping customers waiting, the showroom is dirty and out-dated, they got my wedding cake completely wrong and were eude all along the way. They will not return my calls or letters seeking compensation for a job done terribly. Why did I use them? I don't know! Let me give you the advice I couldn't take myself--DO NOT TRUST HANSEN'S! more

For our wedding the cake choosing became a game. Every Friday afternoon I would visit a bakery or 2, sample the cakes and look at photos, and then take some of the samples to my husband at work for him to try. Needless to say we tried a lot of cake! \r \r We tried every reputable bakery in the San Fernando Valley and Hansen's was BY FAR the best. Moist, dense cake with incredible flavor, beautiful classic designs and a solid reputation made for a perfect fit. Better than Bea's - by far; better than Edie's - too wierd for a wedding; better than anyone else! \r \r I have bought 6 cakes from Hansen's since then (7 years ago) for birthdays, engagement parties...I even ordered a duplicate of our cake top layer for our 5th anniversary!\r \r Go to Hansen's! In fact, I am headed there now to order one for another event! Pros: taste! more

Lots of pretty pictures 3/4/2003

I've always liked Hansen's Cakes, so when it came time for my wedding, this was the first bakery I visited. We sampled a variety of cakes and looked at plenty of designs. I wasn't overly impressed with the cake flavors for some reason, but on the same note, they were all fine. Compared to other wedding bakeries, I found Hansen's to be less personal. I met the bakers at the other locations, but at this location, there is no bakery. The prices were competitive and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, I just happened to like some other bakeries better. Pros: design selection more
