With so many negative reviews and an F rating from from the Better Business Bureau - almost all complaining about being misled and getting zero value for their money - the company has been infuriating so many people for so long since 2003. The investigative reporters I've spoken at the television stations (King, Komo, and Fox?) seem to be very aware of the complaints and history as they get many complaints and suggestions to investigate over the years. I Am complaining about a A Company called Affordable Rentals Northwest Inc. I responded to a Craigslist Ad about this company and i was told and under the impression that with my Bad credit and a felony Conviction they would find me a Suitable house for rent and get me into the house with very little hassle. So i went to the Company's Office Located at 2300 Eastlake Ave E, Suite 105, Seattle, Wa, 98102. I Spoke with a Gentleman Named Terrance who promptly Sat down and handed me some paperwork to fill out and told me that if i was looking for something as simple as a 3 bedroom house to fit just my kids and i didn't need anything special in the house he could get me into a House the next Day. He required me to pay $250 for a List of Homes and Said that he works with Landlords that accept people with less then perfect credit and whatnot. i told him i didn't have the whole $250 i only had $195 In Cash he walked out of the room for a minute then came back and Said he could take the $195 as a special Deal. So he handed me a list of Homes with about 50 front and back Pages of Addresses that are suppose to be available for rent. So me and my Wife drove around for two hours that night and Not a Single house that we looked at on that List was available they were all occupied. we confronted terrance the next day and he says All the houses on the list he does not Solicit that all the landlords contact his company to be put on this list. well we eventually got ahold of a couple houses on the list and the landlords or owners Said they don't even know who this company is and have never contacted them to list their property. So this company is Falsely Advertising that they can Get bad credit folks into homes for rent. What they are doing is just scanning ads On Internet Websites and making a list of them and charging people $250 for the List. Affordable Rentals is Falsely Advertising that they are Affiliated with these landowners and the company is refusing a refund due to a contract being signed. Cons: Steals your Money more

They lure you in with the promise that you will have a place within days of getting your ""list"". WRONG!!!!!!! My wife and I drove from Everett to Seattle to get a list of places they say they can call and get you in, even with bad credit. OH SO VERY WRONG. They also tell you that since you are using their service you will not have to do a credit check, WRONG. We ended up spending what little money we had on credit checks and we were told sorry, your credit is to bad. Then just try to get your money back. Even if you go twice a week for three months you still won't get your money back. PLEASE just use the newspaper or the internet, SOOOOOO MUCH CHEEPER. Pros: None that I can think of. SCAM, do not listen to anything they have to say. They will steal your money. Check out their rating and complaints on the better business B. They place ads on craigslist and lead you to believe that they actually offer you a service but really your doing all the work yourself. I informed Chad at ""Affordable Rentals Northwest"" that I was looking for a place within a week in a certain price range. Over the phone, he immediately rattled off many places that sounded perfect. When I went in person, he promised to find me a place within my price range in a matter of days. I happily paid the fee knowing that it would cost more than $250 in time for me to find a place on my own. As soon as I signed, Chad handed me a list of places in the ENTIRE STATE OF WASHINGTON and told me to find a place. I responded with, ""isn't this why I'm paying you?"" ""Yes!"" was the enthusiastic response, ""I'll make it happen."" This was the last I heard from the company for a week. Because I had no where to live, I found a place on my own and was told that I cannot get a refund because it has not been 90 days and I have not picked-up leads (???). I was falsely promised something Chad (an annoyingly short man), never intended to fulfill. I am in the process of working with a family lawyer to dispute the fee. This company posted an add on Craigslist with an very attractive price for a unit downtown Bellevue. I showed up for my appointment and the salesman had informed me that they are managing a great variety of properties throughout Washington State, and that they indeed have the unit I was looking at available at the price that we have discussed over the phone. I had his verbal confirmation at least 5 times that the unit is available, that there was no damage deposit, and that the price that we had been discussing is still current. I was asked for an initial ""refundable"" fee of $250, which I paid. I was then given a list of their available properties and asked to drive by the ones that I found suitable. I picked one and called the same day asking if someone can show it to me. They said that the apartment complex manager was off and that they would set it up for me on Monday. I drove by the address, walked into their rental office, they were open. The property manager told me that not only they never advertised their units at such a low price, but they never heard of this company and they are not managed by them or in any way affiliated with them. I drove back and requested my money back. I was told that their manager, someone named Rahale Schwarts, would contact me on Tuesday. She never did, so I called myself. And the next day I called again. And again. Until I was finally told to F**K OFF and have myself a pleasant rest of the day. This company is a SCAM, and if you do more online research, you would find similar stories like mine dating back to 2004. I am determined to do whatever it takes to bring them down. These people rip you off big time! Its almost impossible to reach them on the phone, and If you actually do they tell you they cant answer any questions until you sign their contract. Thus paying $195. These people are rude and most of all they just scam you. Stay away from their ads on Craigslist, if you see an ad by them flag it off. They show a really cheap nice place on their ad then list their number. You can tell its their ad by seeing ""fee"" after their number. Too many people have been ripped off by this company, they need taken down!!! Pros: NONE! Cons: too many to name! more

These people lure folks in with promises of finding a listing for an affordable apartment, and simply troll craigslist and other sites for advertisements you can find yourself. They provide no value added services other than searching free ads- no research, no qualified leads, nothing other than taking money from people who can little afford it. Not to mention, they spam craigslist to the point that the lower end rent range searches border on unusable. Avoid these cretons like they are a disease! PS- the positive reviews are either employees or dummy accounts, but I find some of the positive statements very dubious. Cons: Global Management One more

I have been looking for a house in Seattle for the past five months and was unable to find a place to live. I was referred to Affordable Rentals by a freind who has used their services to find a house a couple of months ego. I contacted their office a month ego and talked to a customer service rep. who was very helpful in my home search. Despite having some credit issues, this company was able to find me a place two days after I signed up for their service. They have excellent customer service and I recomened this company ! I just relocated from Washington, DC and was looking for a place to live in Seattle. Due to my work schedule I was having a tough time getting a place to live. A freind of mine who have used this company a year ego told me to give them a call. I went to their office and met with an agent and it took them three days to find me a nice place to live. The agent who has helped me was so wonderful and so helpful. They have saved me time and energy I am glad I have used them for my home search and I will defenetly use them in the future. This company offers a service of ""helping you find a rental"" which is complete bogus because they do not help you at all. Empty promises of numerous listings that are ""in the area that you are looking? and ""will take a 75 lb dog? are complete nonsense. They make you sign a contract and then they take 195 dollars from you. They give you a list of rentals that has listings all over the state of Washington. Then they say good luck and sianara. Have fun driving around looking for these bogus addresses and wasting gas. When you actually find a place that ""looks good? see if you can get them to set up an appointment for you to look at it. I think not. Will they give you the phone number so you can call yourself? Negative. The manager Kim is simply an awful person and when we asked for our money back after just one day of working with these people she laughed in our faces...not literally, but pretty much. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! The people that work there are total liars and scam artists, as you can see from all the other reviews. The one good one was probably entered by Kim herself. You will have better luck finding a place if you looked in a month old copy of the the Seattle Times. THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF! Extremely happy with the service. I am a lawyer who was helping a client with poor credit find a home. (He has good income but big credit hits.) He was frustrated because he kept getting rejected due to credit problems. I am really glad we ran into these people. Our counselor told us which renters would work with him and which renters would be a waste of his time. He did not have the time to call every place under the sun, he had to have a home within two days. With our counselor's expertise: we had it! more
