My stylist was Adrian Gutierrez and words cannot begin to describe his attention to personal detail, he is impeccable in every way. Adrian is truly an artist and his passion is clearly expressed in his ability to give you the best cut for your face. He takes into account the shape of your face, complexion, if one eye is larger than the other, etc... He does everything to make sure you walk out looking like a million dollars! He does not rush you and when you are in his chair, he is completely focused on you and your hair! Yes he may be pricey, but his cut is well worth it and will also grow out nicely if you need to extend your normal length of time for a touch up. OK, I was dubious when my new bride made me an appointment with Adrian, her stylist for many many years. What's wrong with barbershops, anyway? But to keep the peace, I went. I hate it when she's right. Not only did he manage to calm one particularly troublesome cowlick, the style better suits me. I actually look forward to my appointments because of the great scalp massage I get from Farsinee before seeing Adrian. Free Spirit is NOT just for women! more

I had been traveling a bit and visiting various other salons around the city. All advised that I needed a cut. I had long fine curly hair and usually a cut meant that someone would simply cut if all off. On my first visit to Free Spirit Salon while I was getting a shampoo and style with another stylist ( who was also wonderful), I notice a stylist on my left that appeared to be working on a masterpiece...in a world all of his own. He was cutting a woman's hair but it was so much more than that. I detected that he was a true artist and perfectionist of his profession. I asked about him as I was intrigued and found out he was the Artistic Director of the Salon, Adrian. After watching intently, I knew this was the person I would trust to cut and give me a ""look"". I was not disappointed. He spent at least 45 minutes cutting my hair very precisely. It seemed every strand he cut had a specific purpose. I stood up, sat down, turned upside down all in silence as he was creating his masterpiece. I was afraid I might be left with no hair but in the end I had a beautiful long cut. My husband's ( of 30 years ) first comment when he saw me was, ""that's the best haircut you have ever had"". Enough said. A month later he changed my color. This was a great experience too. He did not darken my hair but made it richer and deeper. When I left my hair looked like a hair color swatch. Adrian takes special time with each client making them feel very special. What more could a girl ask for? Adrian has been cutting, coloring and styling my hair for more than 7 years! He was recommended to me by a stranger that I met in a boutique. Being a recent Chicago transplant and coming from a family of stylists, I just had to ask who cut her hair, I know an excellent hair cut when I see one. PERFECTION! Just moved to Atlanta and spotted a girl with great naturally curly hair on the street who recommended Adrian. I started with Adrian nearly 14 years ago and he is awesome. We collaborate on my color and style each time. He listens to me and is not afraid to tell me when something will not suit me, but always has an alternative suggestion. I love to let him ""do his thing"" and be creative. He knows exactly what will work for me and I always love what he does. I get bored with the same things so he gets to be creative a lot with me. We have done long, short, straight, curly, and various colors. Adrian is also a great teacher. I have seen him train many assistants who have gone on their own and have done very well.
