This little trailer serves up some fantastic crepes. In fact, they beat Bobby Flay of the Food Network in a "" Crepe Throwdown,"" in which Flay challenges ""the best of the best....

Love it! 4/23/2011

Enjoyed a beautiful morning in Austin with yummy crepes from Flip Happy crepes. The wait is long, but the crepes were amazing. We had the lemon curd blueburry, peanutbutter chantelle cream, ended with scrambled egg crepe. All so good. more

Wait too long to appreciate 3/16/2011

After ordering, we have told that wait would be 20 minutes. After 1h00 we finally had the crepes. Too long for me to appreciate. Especially when I saw that people arriving after me getting their crepes before me!!! If I have been told that the wait was 1hour, I would not have order them. And where is the trick to cut the line? more

Pleasantly sized portions 1/29/2010

My husband has been resisting trying this place, being afraid of encountering tiny food, so I went with a friend. The chicken pesto crepe (both light & dark meat) was the size of a med-large burrito & was delish. Friend's veggie crepe was also nicely sized & tasty. Pros: Great food, nice selection on menu more

A great place to eat, if you have time. 5/9/2009

This little trailer serves up some fantastic crepes. In fact, they beat Bobby Flay of the Food Network in a "" Crepe Throwdown,"" in which Flay challenges ""the best of the best."" Flip Happy Crepes certainly qualifies. My wife and I went the other day for lunch, and I LOVED the chicken pesto crepe, while she adored the Roasted Chicken with goat cheese and carmelized onions. The only drawback is that the wait is too long for the typical lunch break. With only a couple of crepe griddles, the staff can't meet the demand very quickly. Nevertheless, it is WORTH the wait. Pros: Outstanding taste Cons: Slowwwwwww more

Amazing crepes, best I have had in the states 3/23/2009

This is 5 stars for food but have to deduct one star for the fact cars park randomly in the lot, you sit in the open in mismatched rickety tv trays and lawn chairs and wait sometime sup to 30 minutes for your meal....but man is it worth it when you taste them. Whether it is savory or sweet you are going for you will not be let down with how good these are. Pros: crepes = delicious Cons: atmosphere, parking, clean tables, wait more

Happiest Crepe Trailer ever! 2/10/2009

PROS: Pros: Ambience, Music, Food! Cons: Parking, Slow Service (maybe hire more staff) more

Wait when it's not so hot outside 9/6/2008

Wasn't aware of the long wait. After a not so bad 10 minute wait to place order it was an hour until food was ready. By that time I was so irriated and uncomfortable by the heat I managed to take a few bites of my food and couldn't eat anymore. Crepe was flavorful but couldn't enjoy it after waiting so long in the mid day heat, but can't nessecarily wait until the evening when it cools down a bit...they are closed. Definately wait until the cooler months...I'm sure they are great. more

Absolutely Incredible! 7/27/2008

So this weekend we took a girls' trip to Austin. Saturday morning/afternoon was almost devoted to Flip Happy!! We wanted to try to the crepes so badly that we waited in line, in the blazing hot sun, for one full hour. As each minute passed, we kept asking each other, ""is this really going to be worth it?"" The four of us ordered different lunch crepes, and two of the dessert crepes. When our food was finally ready, another half hour or so, we couldn't wait to dig in. It looked and smelled fantastic. As we each bit into the crepes, we were amazed by how YUMMY they were!! Each one had different sauces, flavors, spices, and yet each one was phenomenal. It's hard to go somewhere and leave with everyone being exceptionally enthused about the experience, but Flip Happy did it for us. We will definitely be returning to Flip Happy whenever we visit Austin again. more

MM YUMMY CREPES!! 7/23/2008

I love the crepes that come out of here. This place is a good value for what you get! I absolutely loved the chicken, mushrooms, onions, and gruyere cheese crepe. Also the nutella&strawberries crepe is awesome. I am itching to go back asap to try other crepes but the wait can be ridiculous if you go at the wrong time. I would recommend trying to make it when they open if possible to avoid long wait times but if not, then order ahead on the phone. Pros: Yummy, Good value Cons: Wait can be long, Outdoors so hot during the summer more

No longer worth the wait 7/6/2008

We & many of our friends absolutely love the food at this place- the crepes are amazing & the people are/were friendly. We sometimes ate there & sometimes called in orders to take home. However, both options are no longer feasible, especially in the summertime. Pros: Scrumptous crepes, usually friendly service Cons: Ridiculously long wait, limited hours/days, parking more

Amazing!! 4/3/2008

WOW! Absolutely amazing crepes. But rather than comment on these delectable delights... I'd just like to offer some suggestions for those of you who want to try this out. Going to Flip Happy is an experience in itself. If you don't have time, then don't go. Save it for another day so that you can really enjoy it. IF you're rushed, this place is just not going to work. Here are a few ways that my family and friends have found to get the most out of it. First of all, you can call ahead and place your order. You'll still have to wait in the 'order' line, but once you get up there, you simply pay for your order and they hand you your bag of goods. Secondly..... it's true, parking can be a bit of a bear but somehow we always luck out. People come and go and if you can just relax and be patient, you will find your spot. Another suggestion, throw a couple of fold up chairs in your trunk. Seating is limited and you won't have to worry about it if you bring your own seating. Of course sharing a picnic table with other Flip Happy fans is a great way to meet more friendly people but seats fill up quick. I guess what I'd like to stress the most is that when you go to a fun Austin icon like this, enjoy the day, take your time, savor the experience and the food. Pros: cool atmosphere, excellent food, an Austin MUST! Cons: no go if bad weather more

Amazing crepes both savory and sweet 3/31/2008

Better than crepes I've had at fancy French restaurants in Quebec, this is amazing food from a tiny kitchen in an airstream trailer! I had the mushroom gruyere crepe, and the blend of flavors was perfect, subtle and rich. The lemon curd and dark chocolate desert crepe was also amazing, rich fresh lemon flavor, and really high quality dark nutty chocolate sauce. Cheap dark chocolate can get bitter and acidic tasting, this was perfect. more

Exceptional food...service slow, lines extremely long. 3/15/2008

If the crepes werent amazing I would give it a two star for service, they are friendly and nice, but the lines are horrible and they go pretty slow because they have limited kitchen space. I get the savory chicken, goat cheese, carmalized onion and aoli crepe which is delilectable...and of course a sweet crepe with nutella and fruit is a must. Ive been to europe several times and find these just as good as crepes there and even better than some. Prices are fair. Oh and they are hardly ever open which also effects their crowds. Pros: best crepes this side of france Cons: long lines, very long wait, hardly ever open more

Tastewise it's DELICIOUS but you better not have anything else planned that day. 3/10/2008

The crepes are very very very tasty- ( I had the roasted chicken, goat cheese and caramelized onion crepe and the nutella strawberry crepe) and both were outstanding. However, I wish I knew that there was an hour and a half wait to get them before we went. As quirky and cute the location is, these folks should really open up a full-scale crepery restaurant. Sadly my husband refuses to go back because of the long wait. Also parking is a real pain in the butt too. BUT the food is still very tasty. Pros: Tasty and Delicious flavor combinations Cons: LOOOOOONG wait and inadequate parking more

Awesome for an Afternoon in Austin 1/17/2008

A group of us were all in Austin from other cities, and we ate here after a jog around the lake. There was an hour wait for the crepes, and we resorted to eating pecans that had fallen to the ground. Once I sank my teeth into the Three Cheese Crepe with Tomatoes and Carmelized Onions, I knew that the hour wait was worth it. We enjoyed every bite. Pros: food, unique set-up Cons: wait, lack of ample seating more

Best crepes in town 1/10/2008

I didn't even know this place was there. (BTW it is on Jesse st. not Josephine) I just happened to have the food network on and saw the throwdown episode that featured them. I had to try it and did so today. I had the lemon curd, and the pastry creme. They were both out of this world. I'll go back for some savory crepes very soon but they look great. You can tell right off these two girls really love what they're doing, and it reflects in the care they take to prepare these crepes properly. Pros: GREAT CREPES Cons: Bold birds more

Feeling French...Go get a Crepe!! 11/28/2007

Oh My how to describe the taste of this light and delicate dish. They were wonderful. I sampled the roasted chicken and the vanilla cream crepe with berries. Both were outstanding. The sitting arrangement is a little strange ( but its Austin...) its little tables outside. Other than that no complaints. This is a great idea to get a little bit of france in texase. Pros: Food was outstanding...and creative Cons: Outside sitting...and since everything is made fresh, a slight wait! more

Amazing Crepes 9/27/2007

We saw the feature on Flip Happy Crepes on Throwdown and we knew we had to try it. So, one afternoon we finally paid a visit to Flip Happy Crepes and the place lived up to our expectations. It was pretty crowded for 1 pm but when our crepes finally arrived they were totally worth the wait. I had the tarragon mushroom, caramelized onions, tomato, spinach and gruyere crepe and it was the best crepe I have ever had. My husband had ham and gruyere crepe and he seemed really happy with his crepe too. We are for sure going back again soon. Pros: Awesome crepes Cons: The wait more

Great Austin Atmosphere and Fantastic Food 8/24/2007

I really enjoyed my first visit to Flip Happy Crepes. It's a perfect place to grab lunch with a friend and the crepes are truly amazing. In fact they are so delicious I have debated telling everyone I know and keep it a big secret. Make sure you get there early and expect to spend a little time waiting because every crepe is made fresh to order. My only complaint is the limited service hours, but that's is something I can work around. Pros: Delicious and Inexpensive Cons: Parking, crowded more
