This is our new favorite restaurant. It's a very busy, hectic place, but the food is consistently good. Service and pricing are also good. The menu's small, but the quality is outstanding and delicious. Great for Vegetarians.\r Seafood is also outstanding, food is always fresh! We've been going since 3 months and can't wait to go back. more

I had the displeasure going here for lunch. I ordered a chicken pita with fries and what I got was a cold hard pita with globs of tasteless sauce, brownish dry chicken and a giant slice of tomato. I also did not get my fries but instead some buttered slices potatoes, I asked my waitress what happened to the fries she told me sometimes the kitchen makes the fries like that! What the hell? I noticed several other diners complaining about the food , I couldn't tell if they got the wrong order or just complaint how bad the food is. Trust me save your money and go anywhere else. more

I first heard about this Ethos while visiting the Deerfield Beach Food & Wine Festival. I was able to sample a few of their creations at the fest and, after speaking to one of the managers, I became intrigued. We exchanged business cards and as promised, they contacted me to invite me to their grand opening. Being Greek, I embrace the opening of new restaurants that can "bring me back home."\r \r Ethos Greek Bistro is located in the Promenade Plaza in Coconut Creek (Wiles Rd & Lyons Rd) where Fish City Grill was located. I hate to say it, but good riddens! \r \r I have tried several things on the menu; Gyros, Avgolemono, Greek Salad, Rebel Lamb, Lamb Chops, Greek Chicken, Saganaki, Shrimp Saganaki, Kefte, Souvlaki, Grilled Octopus, Grilled Calamari, and all of the desserts. (How can you give a fair review if you haven't tried several items, right?) \r \r My first visit was just okay. The soup was loaded with dill which is not traditional, the saganaki used vlahotyri cheese (unlike kefalograviera, kasseri, or kefalotyri which is what I am used to) and didn't taste very good, and we had to ask for pita. Generally, a gyros platter and saganaki come with pita. I wasn't impressed, but the service was great, so decided to wait a few weeks and give it another go.\r \r I have since been back 5 times and now love it. I have yet to try the saganaki again, but was told that they changed the cheese therefore; I will be tasting it soon. The service is always great. Although, the prices are a bit high for Coconut Creek, the food packs a punch in the flavor department and the service is always pleasant. \r \r I recommend trying their lamb. Whether you want lamb chops or a slow roasted en papillote version (their Rebel Lamb) you will be pleased. The Shrimp Saganaki is a must try as well. Want the best of both worlds? Get my favorite...Surf & Turf! You really can't go wrong with any selection. Ethos Greek Bistro uses high quality ingredients. Their feta cheese alone blows others restaurants out of the water. Soft, briny, and creamy; it keeps you coming back for another bite (unlike the brick hard style served in other places.) \r \r All I can say is welcome to Coconut Creek Ethos! The Promenade is getting better and better! Get over there and check them out. \r \r Tell 'em Fork Notes sent ya and let me know what you think. more

Bistro is a misnomer for this stark, undecorated venue trying a bit too hard to be hip.The young servers are enthusiastic in trying to upsell, and pleasant but a bit unprofessiona.\r The free 2 chunks of bread were grilled to a burnt crisp and hard as a rock. The hummus was basically a can of chick peas that had been crushed -- no seasoning/pizazz served with not very good pita. The kefte were tasty -- came as 2 flat hamburger patties , not meatballs as described, with a very good roasted red pepper. The ethos platter was large - 2 skewers of meat;but the pork was raw in some places and dried:overcooked in others -- all on the same skewer! Best bet: their Greek salad. This is the kind of place people will flock to in the beginning but won't go back a second time... more

After reading the other positive comments about this place...I think I must have eaten somewhere else. I came in for lunch-maybe dinner is better?I never went to a Greek restaurant where a complimentary dish of pita and hummus was not served. O.k. they are different. I ordered from the small plate selection. I never saw spinach pie look like a grilled cheese sandwich. What a turn-off. It was not fluffy like normal spinach pie is with phylo dough. They seemed to press it down. If that wasn't bad...it was so dry tasting. The worst spinach pie I ever ate. I wanted a little side salad but the waiter says they don't do that. My mother had zucchini cakes like crab cakes. They were fairly descent. A little on the salty side. May be i should have ordered from the main entree\r portion. I was going to order my favorite dessert Baklava..but the experience left me less that pleased. I paid and left. I can't make up my mind if I'll give them another try. If you can't win me over for lunch...what's the point of returning for dinner? more

The title of my review says it all. This place is an absolute gem and is going to thrive, I promise you. Greek Islands Taverna can't even hold a candle to this brand new, modern, fresh Greek cuisine! I will never bother going anywhere else again for Greek food, and I have dined at many different Greek restaurants over the years, from Miami to Palm Beach County. If you are someone like myself who likes to dine out and consume the freshest foods with the simplest preparations, natural ingredients & authentic flavors, this place will be heaven to you as well!\r I was told to try their house made Greek fruit sangria. It arrived to our table ice cold, with the freshest chunks of fruit inside: crisp granny smith apples, oranges, lemon, and strawberries that were macerated in the red wine. The fruit wasn't the least bit old or soggy even, and the drink itself was infused from the fruit with sweetness, yet a slight tang that made it super refreshing. It was a fruity, magical elixir and a must try!\r I wanted to try a full meal instead of the tapas concept that they offer here, however everyone else in my party ordered food to share; Greek salad, spanikopita, shrimp sagnaki, and calamari. Not ONE person complained about the food, as it was all super fresh with fresh & healthy ingredients! Everything arrived to the table looking so beautiful, just like something from a magazine.\r My roasted chicken dinner tasted like something my Mom would cook at home. It was such a generous portion, super juicy & all natural and not the least bit gamey tasting. All I tasted were the fresh herbs and imported olive oil that it was marinated in. It was served with tangy lemon potato wedges, and huge freshly grilled chunks of zucchini, eggplant, and sweet red pepper. It was hands down without a doubt, the best meal I have had out this year.\r For dessert, we were surprised with their baklava, which had mounds of sweet whipped cream, heavenly chocolate sauce, light & crisp philo dough, sweet honey & cinnamon...it didn't even last 5 minutes on our table before it was gone.\r At the end we made a point of walking up to a gentleman who seemed to be an owner and told him how unbelievable our experience was here, and that the food tastes like something from my kitchen at home. The service and server we had for the evening was flawless, friendly, & so professional. He made us feel so welcome, so appreciated as first time customers, and like we were family already. Be sure to ask for Humberto when you give this place a try, he is the BEST!\r I can't wait to go back again, I'm already counting the minutes! Try it and you will see exactly what I mean. As first time customers, we wish this place many happy years of success in the future! more

Food was tasty but service was VERY slow. It's a soft opening this week but still they have a way to go. They offered free desserts but we noticed we were not the only ones. \r That said, hope they get it together. Food was very good. Hubby is Greek and picky. He liked it too more

I am a frequent visitor to The Promenade in coconut creek. As you walk into Ethos, there is an aura like no other restaurant in the area (possibly because the two restaurants that USED to be the best in The Promenade are directly across from World Of Beers... Not exactly a relaxed & romantic environment). The manager was as active in the restaurant as the runners. Every person that you came in contact with said, "hello" and smiled. The other diners were just as friendly; likely because the aura forces a feeling of relaxation & enjoyment upon you. I know this may sound like I am over-hyping it but I seriously missed the whole Knicks-Heat playoff game because I sat in that place, ate, drank, and talked to the bartender & other employees. I walked in there to get takeout, but once I sat down, I didn't get up for two hours.\r Another thing to take into account is that I have been DYING for some authentic Greek food. Greek Salads from pizza shops have been the closest I could get. At this point, since I live down the street near Lyons & Sample, I will be a frequent visitor of this place. After you go here, I am confident you will feel the same.\r \r By the way, I'm a 6'4'' 240lb black man & my girlfriend is white. Anyone who has been in an interracial relationship would understand that sometime ppl look at you funny or treat you differently around here. We didn't feel judged during one step through that restaurant. I usually don't include that in reviews, but I felt that might be necessary for someone out there to hear.\r \r If you are in the area, give this restaurant a try! more
