Just moved with Empire yesterday from Flushing to Long Island City. At first i was skeptical to use this company because its only been in business for three years but the sales person on the phone Florin was very courteous and took the time to explain everything to me step by step. Foreman on the move was Vlad and his crew of three men handled the move with such ease and professionalism plus they really took care of my items and absolutely no damages and it was reasonably priced. I will highly recommend this company more

I was very happy with the moving service provided by Empire Movers. I had them move our 1 Bdrm from Upper East NYC to Washington DC. The movers were very savy and efficient. The move was for my son, and everything was done without any issues. Good price no problems whatsoever. more

I moved with these folks two times. Once from Manhattan into their storage and a year later into my new place in Astoria. The price was right each time and had no confusion over the total cost. They took good care of all my fragile items, mirror, tables, and all one bedroom apartment furniture. I chose to have them wrap all my stuff and the final result was no broken glass or, scratched furniture. Vlad and John followed-up failry fast everytime I contacted the company. They're the people you want to speak with if you have any questions. All in all, satisfied with this moving company and the end results. Thank you guys and keep-up the good work! more

I was very scared hiring a moving company for my move from Manhattan to Boston. All I heard from my friends who previously hired movers was that they lose things and damage things. This was NOT the case with Empire Movers. I had an excellent experience with Andrew, Matt, and (I forgot the other gentleman's name). They worked efficiently and carefully! They were worth every penny and more! I will definitely be recommending them to friends and hiring them again on my next move! more

They were 2 hours late, took 9 hours to get from new york to Boston b/c of "two accidents and traffic" on top of a flat tire and later running out of gas and being stranded on the road. We left at the same time and got to Boston in 4.5 hours via bus. They ended up charging 50% more than what was quoted and demanded a 20% tip! They called their boss, who insulted us and threatened to take our stuff away if we didn't pay. Never use them. Pros: None Cons: Late, cheats, rude, unprofessional more

Ok, so I was one of those skeptical people who did not think it was possible for a moving company to have great ratings/reviews like these -- but these guys live up to the hype! I called a week and half before...got a spot on Sunday...the guys showed up on time...got the job done within 2 hours! Moved me from one Manhattan location to Long Beach Long Island.I will definitely use this company again rather than a more local moving company! Empire Moving is unreliable, unprofessional, and impolite. I scheduled my move for 2 PM Friday, July 2nd on June 23rd. They confirmed the move, and sent email confirmation and I gave them the required $100 deposit. I called on July 1st to confirm all is set, left a message with my phone and never got a call back. On the day of the move, July 2nd, 30 minutes prior, I called again. The man who answered the phone told me they can no longer move and would call me back in an hour. I never heard from them again. They left me hanging with no info and very little time to find another mover. I told them I didn't understand the problem and they did not elaborate. I told them I did not have the flexibility to schedule the move at a later time and they showed to concern or remorse. Luckily, Mountain Movers moved me in short notice. I recommend them. Quick, efficient and courteous. more

High recommendations! On time, courteous, fast, and no tricky pricing. Our move had a 60 step staircase on the delivery end and they moved everything with no damage to the material or the structure. All pro. I'd use them again for sure ...? Pros: great service more

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! The movers were over three hours late when they arrived and took twice as long to get to my new place as I did. They then tried to overcharge me by almost twice what I was quoted. In the end they overcharged by $100 and now my mom has to dispute the charge. DETAILS: The saga began when the movers arrived around 2:30pm, which would have been great except they were supposed to show up at 11am. I called the office multiple times to find out when they would arrive and I was told I would hear from the movers. Eventually, my calls went to voicemail. My boyfriend had to call from his phone. We were told the movers wound up in Brooklyn by mistake - I live in Queens! When I finally heard from them two hours later, they told me they hit traffic in Brooklyn and on Queens Boulevard. I lived off Queens Blvd for fours years - it never backs up, it's always moving! When the movers finally got to my apartment (in a Budget rental truck - they don't have their own trucks??), the one man, named Hector, blamed the GPS for their lateness saying that GPS is ?designed to make you waste fuel?. They packed me up in 2.5 hours, leaving at 5pm. We might have left sooner if Hector had not stopped working so many times to talk to my boyfriend and I. My boyfriend and I left at 5:20 pm. We arrived at my new place at just before 7:30pm. The trip always takes 2 hours. The movers wouldn't arrive until almost 9:30pm!!!!!! I called them around a quarter to 8pm to check their progress: they told me they would arrive soon - they had to stop to refuel and were delayed slightly. At 8:30pm I called again to see where they were and they told me they had been pulled over by a state trooper!!! I asked where they were exactly and they told me they had "just passed" the exit before mine. At 9pm I called AGAIN to see where they were and was told AGAIN they had "just passed" the exit before mine and were 10 minutes away! It took them 45 minutes to travel the 15 miles between exits!! When they finally arrived the younger mover asked me to sign off on the contract. They had left the number of job hours blank and they were trying to charge me $180 dollars for travel time. I was quoted a 6 hour job at $90/hour for a total of $540. They were trying to charge me almost twice that. I told them I would not pay that. The younger mover called his boss and spoke to him ? in another language so I couldn't understand ? about the situation. I called my mother and told her to alert her credit card company (she was paying for this) about a possible charge dispute. I had my boyfriend talk to the movers about the cost because I was in a state of physical/mental exhaustion (I was suffering terribly with allergies all day). Eventually I agreed to pay $655 and was told that that would be the grand total. Meanwhile, Hector would not shut up about why they were late: the truck only did 65 mph; GPS is ?designed to waste fuel? and ?doesn?t tell you when there?s traffic or where the lights are? (Isn't that EXACTLY what GPS does????), and on and on and on? Again, he stopped working multiple times to complain to us, expecting sympathy. They didn?t leave until 11:34pm. Before they left I overheard Hector on the phone telling a friend in NYC that he would be home in"2 1/2 hours" (???). The next day, they charged my mom $100 and they day after $655, so my mom had to call her card company and made a charge dispute. Awful, awful, awful... Pros: Cheaper than most but it's clear why... Cons: Extremely late, overcharged, forced me to dispute charge more

Being from out of state, I was out of luck when it came to finding people to help me move. Lucky for me I heard about Empire Movers from a co-worker who had used them when she moved into her new apartment. After getting an estimate for the cost, I decided to go with Empire, this being the first time I had ever used a professional moving company. They arrived promptly and everything landed safely into my new, but small :(, apartment. So even though this was the first time moving without the help of my family and friends, I would say it was quite the success. Pros: organized,fast Cons: didn't noticed more

Empire Movers makes moving a breeze! I have moved with them 3 times (I know) and every time was a wonderful, no stress experience. It is such a relief to work with them because there are so many details to consider when moving, this one is just checked off the list. Our most recent move was from Boston to NYC. Our movers in NY had to climb up 3 flights and we did not hear one complaint from Sorin. In addition to the great experience, their pricing is competitive and I would NEVER move with anyone else. These movers were awesome. They showed up on time by 9:00 am and worked non-stop until the move was complete. They were careful with my furniture and also did a great job wrapping all large furniture items. Everything went perfect. Very professional and worth every penny. Floren the Manager ,great atitude. Gave us a bad initial estimate and nearly charged us double the initial estimate. They are very comfortable lying about the actual time they worked, definitely watch out for that! They have some sort of transportation fee of about 55$ when they gave us the initial estimate, upon arrival the first thing they did was to double this amount. I knew at that very moment that this was a bad decision. Asked us for a 15 - 20% tip on top and claimed that the entire hourly rate agreed upon was supposedly going to the moving company. Even though all three of them worked to move stuff from the building we were moving out of, we saw only 2 working at the destination. Took 4 hours to move and charged us for an extra hour. We did have to move out of a walk up but the building we were moving to was an elevator building!! The best way to waste time is to wrap up stuff that don't need to be. Only in the end when they charged us for an extra hour did we realize that this is a great money squeezing technique. We had most of our stuff in boxes, but of course they had us buy wardrobe size boxes and charged us 80$ for just those. They claimed that it would take way too long for them to move otherwise. This is yet another way of ripping off people. There was only one minor damage, so they did do a good job in that respect. For the amount of money that we spent, at least we didn't have to replace many damaged items!! All in all, be careful with this moving company. They proudly claim that it is a family business to enforce that they have been doing this for a long time, and that they are fair. As far as I am concerned, I will never engage with them again, and will not deal with a family that has so much of experience with this scam! This is the second move Empire Movers performed for us. The first was to move our entire household within Manhattan. That move was performed within budget, on time and in a way that made our move far easier than our last move. This second move involved moving furniture and boxes we were storing in our basement to a home my parents occupy in East Hampton. Once again Empire Movers came in on budget, on time and with wonderful service throughout. The price for the move to LI was very reasonable and the move was completed within our time frames ? not under timing dictated by the moving company (an experience with had with another mover some years ago that really threw a wrench into our plans). Bottom line, these guys deliver value and quality at a reasonable price. We?ve hired them twice and we?d hire them again! Pros: Excellent Service,reasonable prices Cons: Didn't experienced any more

My sister recommended Empire Movers for my recent move and they could not be nicer or more professional. My move had the chance of playing out in a couple ways. I was definitely moving some stuff, possibly storing some, and possibly donating some. Florin must have answered a million of my questions and scheduled a pretty last-minute move request (one week notice).??Ultimately I decided not to store anything once Mike and I worked out the numbers, but I still used their wardrobes/cases and guys for my move. They are super communicative (called to confirm and called when en route with box delivery and move), prompt, and really friendly. Pros: very experienced crew Cons: late aprox 20 minutes more
