Dr. M. Friedman - Optometrist

Dr Friedman's office it GREAT!! Dr. Levin has examined my eyes for the last seven years for contacts and I have always been extremely satisfied. He is very patient, has a great personality and truly cares about his patients and their vision. Every year he educates me on the latest in contacts and has always been very honest and sincere without ever giving me something I don't need. I recommend him whole heartedly to anyone looking for an excellent optometrist. more

6/10/2009 \r The first time I went to Dr Friedman's office I was 16. I needed to get my eyes examined for my drivers license. My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles have all been patients at Dr Friedman's office for as long as I can remember. Without giving away my age let's just say I have been coming here forever. My parents used to have Medi-cal and I will never forget the way they were treated. With dignity and respect. We have all been off medi-cal now for years but we would never go anywhere else for our eyecare. Dr Friedman's office always did us right and they truely give exceptional service. more

\r Dr Friedman's office was recommended to me by a trusted friend. I saw Dr. Levin who is an excellent doctor. His exam was extremely thorough which I really value because I have terrible eye sight. He used a lot of trial contact lenses until he got my prescription just right. He measured my eyes and determined that I was wearing the wrong shape contacts for my eyes. Dr Friedman's office was recommended to me by a trusted friend. I saw Dr. Levin who is an excellent doctor. His exam was extremely thorough which I really value because I have terrible eye sight. He used a lot of trial contact lenses until he got my prescription just right. He measured my eyes and determined that I was wearing the wrong shape contacts for my eyes. I have to say this is truley the nicest staff you will find in LA. Having worn glasses since elementary school I have been all over for glasses. I never found a great optometrist or a pair of glasses I loved. That was until a friend recommended I go to Dr. Friedman's office. This office really gives that personal touch by everyone from the check in desk to the doctor to the optician. I spent over an hour with Janine choosing the right style glasses with the right color and right fit. I will definitely be back. I love my new glasses. Great selection and prices. \r more

The front desk quickly and efficiently checked my benefits and I was on my way. The wait for the doctor was about 15-20 minutes (without an appointment). The doctor that examined me was extremely thorough. He pulled out a replica of an eye and explained in detail why my eyes always felt dry and irritated. After the exam I sat with an optician who very patiently explained to me my insurance. They have an awesome frame selection. All the opticians use cool laptops-nothing is written anywhere. I love the Blvgari glasses I got and yea they were a great deal! I have sent all my friends and family to them and they are all happy. Even my extremely picky mother who has excellent taste but requires a lot of attention! The selection of glasses is vast for the size of the office. You will get great personal attention. The ladies are all so helpful and patient. I did not have an appointment but they advertise walk-ins welcome so I went in without an appointment. I have vision insurance and I thought I was covered. The staff here is so patient and nice. They called my insurance company for me, They must have been on hold for at least 15 minutes. It turns out the insurance company had difficulty determining if I had eye exam and glasses coverage. They told Dr Friedman's office they would need to call them back on Monday. However the insurance company did say if I was covered for an exam I would have a $10 co-pay. The woman at the desk felt sorry that I had waited so long while she checked my benefits that she said they would do the eye exam anyway and just collect the $10 co-pay. I thought that was pretty fantastic. \r The exam was very good. The doctor explained all the tests she had performed and was very professional. The opticians were great too. Even though I was not buying glasses today because I was not sure of my coverage they still helped me find glasses and were very patient as I tried on different glasses over and over again. I will definitely be back to buy the glasses with or without my insurance. Very classy office. I definitley recommend. Pros: Friendly and Very Helpful Staff more

I was satisfied with my first visit and the eye exam and chose to drop of my glasses for new lenses when I picked up the contacts that were ordered during the first visit. I had a pair of glasses purchased in Europe and was worried that they were not familiar with the frame, but the lady assured me that they knew all types. I received a phone call about a week later, informing that they were not able to put the lenses in the frame and would thus send them back and they would call me when they arrived. I never received a call and call them three times. Each time I was told that they would look for them and call me back. I was never called back. I finally went in there myself and asked them for my glasses. They returned my glasses and said that the prepaid amount would be refunded, but they never apologized for not calling back or taking so long. I was at this point running out of contacts and wanted to order some more despite the poor service. I sat down with the old white haired lady and she informed me that the I still had not received a pack of contacts that was a part of the original prepaid order. I had apparently not received them, because I never came back for a check-up that I was never informed about. I was told that the contacts would probably be there by wednesday. The woman was rude and unpleasant the whole time. I call in the following Thursday, but none knew if they had arrived as the woman who placed the order was sick and wouldn't be back till Saturday at the earliest. How is it possible that they have no records and can't check to see if my order has come?? Ridiculous. I call the following Tuesday to check on my order and was told by the same old lady that their records showed that they did not owe be any contacts. She also claimed never to have told me that I was owed a box and that she would order them. She was accusing me of lying. The worst service I have ever experienced. more

I was so pleasantly surprised with my experience at Dr. Friedman's office, I'm actually writing an enthusiastic review....about an eye doctor! I walked into an attractive office with a friendly staff that actually seemed to enjoy being there (how uncommon for a medical office), and was greetd as soon as I came in. After sitting down with a large group of people- within 5 minutes everyone was ushered in to their appointments (yes, 5 minutes!), and I was one of them. I had a simple appointment- an iris measurement- but I was treated as though my business was appreciated from beginning to start, and no time was wasted. Additionally, parking around the Culver Center was delightfully painless. I don't think I could go to another eye doctor after my great experience at Dr. Friedman's office.\r Pros: Friendly staff, quick service, easy parking Cons: I wish they were closer to my house =) more
