RN Heather 10/3/2013

I delivered my baby boy on May 14, 2013. I just need to say that my Nurse Heather was amazing and I could not have done it without her. She was on top of everything and made me laugh throughout the whole labor process. She was sweet, kind and acted like I was the only person in her care. I hope to God my nurse with the next baby is as perfect as she was. I will NEVER forget her. God bless! more

Danbury Hospital Presently is a Teaching hospital means you're treated like an animal 10/8/2012

Danbury Hospital is a teaching hospital which means any little doctor who needs training and who doesn't know what specialty to go to is going to come in while you're asleep or awake, and spread the germs of the previous patient (sanitizing hands means nothing) and you'll end up with infections and possibly die. Avoid going to Danbury Hospital like you avoid plague more

Caution if you owe them $ 10/8/2012

Be VERY cautious using this establishment. They do NOT offer any adjustments (or reasonable options) with billing. They are absolutely UNhelpful and indifferent to personal finances. You are a number here. We have a medically complex child (who was diagnosed with cancer) & have dealt with other area hospitals because of this, so we do have the ability to fairly compare institutions. Usually a family such as ours will be handled somewhat delicately and sympathetically, but certainly NOT by Danbury Hospital's Financial Office. Shame on you all. more

Does anyone know of a Lori in the ER 8/31/2010

My husband recently ended up in the hospital and there was one nurse in particular that was our guardian angel. She went out of our way to do things that no one else would, going way above and beyond. I want to find her and thank her for her kindness and let her know that she really impacted us. The lady at the front desk will not give me any information on her. Her name is Lori and she was on the 3-7 shift on a Friday. Does anyone know of her? more

Diane the E.R. nurse 7/30/2010

Diane, the emergency room nurse is a monster. She has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen. She caused my mother to have extreme bruising from the blood pressure cuff, ignoring her pleas to remove it. Instead she placed a larger cuff on her and it continued to be so extremely painful that a passing emergency room employee quickly removed it. He said he would let Diane know that the cuff was destroying my frail mothers arm. Diane should not be in the healthcare profession since she totally lacks compassion. Her knowledge of nursing is questionable also. Danbury Hospital needs to terminate this woman, for it's best interest. Everyone else at the hospital has been great. Nurses, doctors, aides....exceptional. more

A Split Personality 3/2/2009

Having been a patient at both the emergency room and the outpatient center, I feel qualified to comment here. I would rate the ER as top-notch.(except for the long wait.) The staff were caring and cut to the chase, no unnecessary stuff, no patronizing--a truly "cut to the chase" attitude. The outpatient center was another matter. Fully five or six people asked the same stupid (and irrelevant)questions again and again, including questions about personal habits that seem to have no logical connection to the procedure to be done. The anestheiologist was particularly egregious. My hand still hurts from the needle placed there. In sum, ER ACES--Outpatient- No way. more

Four Season's Care 2/1/2009

I am so impressed with Danbury Hospital- well my experience of it is in the Duracell Ambulatory Surgery Unit...My daughter was having day surgery and I was expecting a out of date usual awful experience that I have received at Norwalk ER or Stamford but was sooooo surprised- They were so on time and yes there were times when we had to wait but that was to be expected- However the experience was one of kindness all around. I was allowed to be with my daughter until she was wheeled into the OR. The nurse saw me laying on a couch in one of several waiting areas and brought me pillows- a warm blanket which she wrapped me in and came back with tea after asking me if I'd like it and how. I slept for the hour and the warmth from the blanket was so comforting- The nurses name is Faith and she was so lovely. Also the othe rnurses who took care of my daughter Barbra and all were smiling and warm....Norwalk hospital please take note- more

TWO THUMBS UP! 8/30/2005

I MAY BE CONSIDERED BIASED SINCE MY HUSBAND HAS WORKED HERE FOR OVER 20 YEARS BUT AS A PATIENT I HAVE BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH DANBURY HOSPITAL. I DELIVERED 2 CHILDREN HERE BY EMERGENCY C-SECTION AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED BY THE STAFF AND SYSTEM IN PLACE. NOT ONLY WAS THERE A NURSE AVAILABLE 24/7 WITH THE PUSH OF A BUTTON BUT THEY REGULARLY CHECKED ON ME WITHOUT MY ASKING. LIVING IN THIS AREA MY ENTIRE LIFE I HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH THIS HOSPITAL GROW AND AM VERY COMFORTABLE KNOWING THAT IF ANYONE IN MY FAMILY NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION THEY WOULD RECEIVE EXCELLENT CARE HERE. THEY EVEN HAVE A NEW CANCER CENTER. more

Good Emergency Room 8/30/2005

My husband was in severe pain and we rushed to Danbury Hospital's emergency room. They were great. They got him comfortable and relaxed him and helped him through his pain of kidney stones! The attendants took him right in and let me do the paperwork. I have been in other emergency rooms and they make you wait until they are sure you have medical coverage. The doctor in charge recommended a good colleague for a follow-up visit and we are very happy with the outcome. more

Great care... highly recommended 7/7/2005

I had my baby at this hospital. The care was fantastic. The nurses took good care of me and they were available 24 hrs in a day at the ring of a bell. The hospital room was spacious and well equipped. The birthing room even has a jacuzzi to help moms relax. more
