Editorial review from Citysearch 3/20/2013

Took my 05 CRF250R in for a valve adjustment as i was having a hard time getting it to start. bike runs great and they even fixed my muffler issue with out even me asking them too at no charge, yes it took me two weeks to get the bike back and no i am not upset over it, they are a smaller shop and at the time were pretty busy, but they did a good job getting my back running good and it saved me $80 compared to Hillsboro Motosport and almost $120 less than what Beaverton honda wanted. they have earned my business from now on when i need work done by a shop. thanks again guys! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/28/2013

Lousy service. Wife took in her scooter for a muffler replacement and they had it in their shop for over two weeks before coming up with the excuse that they ordered the wrong part and wouldn't be able to get the right one for at least two more weeks. I ordered the part from Halsey Motorsports and had it in 2 Days!!! Dishonest and on top of the lies they couldn't install the muffler correctly. Didn't reinstall the heat shield and apparently lost all the nuts and bolts since they left the air induction assembly hanging and not attached. Then they only used one of the necessary two bolts to attach the flange to the engine. Everyone should avoid this place unless you want to experience a complete waste of your time and money. I could do a better job myself and from now on I will. more

Friendly, honest, knowledgeable shop! I brought a 1982 Suzuki GS300L with multiple problems into D&S Cycle?they got it running great. This is my first bike and they didn?t make me feel stupid for being a new rider and not knowing much about motorcycles. After trouble-shooting several problems, the guys at D&S had my bike running great?I?ll definitely take my ride back to them in the future. Most reasonable prices you?ll find around town too. If you want motorcycle repair or service from friendly, honest, knowledgeable people, D&S Cycle is the place to go! more

Horrible service. Had my bike there for 6/7/2012

Horrible service. Had my bike there for 2 months and not 1 phone call. I always had to call in and ask what was going on. Every time I called, they seemed all put out that I am calling. I caught them strait lying to me about having a bad CDI box. It sat for 3 weeks and I finally went in there to see what is going on and complain. I complained and they told me they would look at it next. 40 mins later my bike was ""running"". So that leads me to believe they never touched it in the first place until I complained. They found that my CDI box was unhooked somehow. But didnt you tell me I had a bad CDI box?? Contradicting yourself there a little. Just be honest people! Why do you must lie to your customers? If you hadnt touch the bike. Tell your customers that you are too busy and have not touched it. Were all adults here. Sat there for 5 more weeks and didnt get any further than the first and only time they touched it which was when I complained. Went there because they were recommended and reviewed well. The attitude I feel is that if you are not one of their ""good'ol boys"" you are last on the list. They will never call you to tell you what is wrong. If you call, you are bothering them. Picked up my bike 2months later. Paid a bill....for what? I guess to bail my bike out. Problem is still there and bike runs worse than ever before. I dont know how people like this stay in business. I purchased 2 sets of tires from them in the past, even had my oil changed for $65?!! That was a rip off. I paid it because it was a service. If I would have known it would $65 to change my oil, I would have done it myself. I will never go back and will be taking my business and money somewhere where they understand the definition of customer service. Stay away if youre smart. Im sure most of those good reviews are from the ""good'ol boys"". more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR HARLEY THERE 10/24/2011

DO NOT TAKE YOUR HARLEY THERE! Just a couple of hours after I pick up my Road King from D&S Cycle (5,000 miles service) I did a visual inspection on it inside of my garage. I've noticed the following: oil leaking from derby cover, derby cover not centered, air filter ornament not vertical (rotated approx 45 degrees), oil on the rider floorboard and oily fingerprints all over. I left a voice message for D&S Cycle explaining why I'm not happy and I left my phone number for them to call me Monday. No response. Tuesday I've decided to take my bike to an authorized dealer. They did an inspection and the following safety related items were out of specs/needed adjustment: steering, clutch, belt, derby cover and low air pressure on both tires. What intrigues me the most is that after telling them that I'm going in a 3K+ miles trip with my bike, they ignored basic safety check points mentioned above. The reason I didn't take my bike back to D&S Cycle Supply is because I don't have the luxury to spend time in a shop that leaves your bike leaking oil after the ""5K service"". Since I already paid for another 5K service (receipt and list with discrepancies found available) what would you do if you were in my place? more

Great Local Shop! 8/18/2011

The kind folks at D&S Cycle have been an area icon for years. I have sent, and continue to send, many people to this shop due to their knowledge, customer service and helping in the community and the sport. Just walk in and look at all their plaques for Kid's Field Day donations! The bigger dealers moslty also do a good job, but don't offer the friendly, Mom-and-Pop, helpful environment and pricing that you can find at D&S. Perhaps ""Madaboutmyharley"" should change her username to ""neverhappyandrideaharley"". more

Great Customer Service 5/31/2011

I normally don't bother reviewing places because I'm pretty busy just like everyone else, but D&S Cycle have really helped me out in the past week. more

New Ownership / Under Previous Ownership 3/2/2010

The shop is now under the previous owner. Jim Dorn no longer owns it. There has been extensive remodeling, We have the top distributors with us again. We kept the same mechanics. Everything is, as it should be. Come in and take a look! Pros: Good Workmanshop - Been in business 38 years more

Irresponsible business owner 2/27/2010

So Jim Dorn doesnt own the business. He left without paying his debts to those he screwed over. Same mechanics to make the same mistakes as before. Seems weird that the new owner has the same last name. Cons: Crappy work, wont pay debt owed per Court more

My Search for a Bike Shop is over 9/17/2009

I went to D & S with a small problem hoping just for advice and maybe make an appointment for service. Within minutes of arriving, Jim was wheeling my VStrom to the service area to check it out, and let me know all my parts were fine, just needed the chain to be tightened up. And I got the feeling his crew had already started on it. SERVICE! Then he finds two screws embedded in my rear tire. It's toast. Another customer ordered the same tire I needed but won't pick it up until next week. He charges me for the tire, is putting the one on-hand on my bike, and ordering another for his previous customer. And that's all I paid for, 1 tire with mounting. D & S is awesome. This was my first visit, and they treated me like we've been buddies for years. He will see my bike again for any service I can't do myself and any parts I need ordered. Stay away from the dealerships, support these guys providing us awesome service and parts right in the neighborhood. D & S, if you read these reviews... THANK YOU! Pros: Service, Price, Flat Helpful Cons: None. Zero. Zilch. more

Attitude is Everything 7/13/2009

Your attitude, that is. If you walk into D&S (or any bike shop) with a cr*p attitude, then thats what you get back. D&S is good people. Fair, honest and they know bikes. I have used them for many years on many dikes, and always got a fair deal. Pros: Down to earth, Honest, Fair Cons: Not a huge inventory more

OK - but limited 6/13/2009

OK but very small shop. Not big on high tech- very old school. I did not have a great experience, but others I talk to did were happy Pros: pricing more

Small shop 5/11/2009

Small shop, Beaverton has little offer - last hope within 15 miles. I would not go back. Services Cops, and is networked. Might as well be in the middle of no place really. A racist remarks made it clear to me - not go back.... Pros: The prices are good, and it's mom and Pop Cons: you have to wait, and good luck more

First class service without the glitz 3/7/2009

I've been riding bikes of all kinds for 40 years, and dealt with a lot of bike shops. Same goes for my friend who recommended D&S to me in the first place. Pros: Service and knowledge Cons: Parking is weird if you're not on a bike and they get real busy in the summer! more

Never again 2/29/2008

Took the bike in which sounded like it needed a valve adjustment, they took the valve cover off and sad one valve was way out possibly bent, they didnt even have shims that big, asked them hows the compression, they sad horrible! wanted $800 to replace the valve, I sad Im gonna wait and do it later considering it was winter and pulled the bike out, this is when they told me compression is perfect they couldn't figure out what a hell was wrong with it? Pros: Fair pricing, but you really get what you pay for! cheap work Cons: Liars, obviously no experience with newer bikes, Liers, Crooks! more

Best Service - Loyal and honest to clients 6/30/2007

I have been a customer of D & S Cycle for 16 years. They have always treated me with kindness, respect and honesty. When I go to their repair shop I know I'm going to be told the right way to get my problem solved, with the least amount of cost to me. D & S Cycle has always looked out for me. One time I had a problem with my bike and was going riding the next day. When I called they were closing and said that they would stay late to give me the part that I needed. Problem solved. We had a great ride!!! That is CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thank you D & S Cycle. Pros: CUSTOMER SERVICE more
