IT WAS GOOD 4/7/2008

I went to club six for my 23rd birthday and it was i think pretty nice. The one thing i really appriciated was the drinks, they are very generous and not that expensive. on the level floor they played hip hop in what looked like a hugh warehouse. the cover was only 10 bux. The only thing i wanted to do was listen to raggae. they had perfomances in the basement of the club which was the best part. it was very smoky dim and crowded(in a good way). i really had a nice time. i recommend club six for any occasion. Pros: hugh dance floor, great drinks, great atmosphere Cons: no parking (of course its san francisco) pretty slow till 12 i almost walked out more

THE CLUBBBB!!! 11/11/2007

I was new in San Francisco, so I didn't know where to hang out to have a good time, but now I know!!! No matter what some people says about Club Six !!! Even if is not in the best place of the city, isn't in the worst neither!!! This is a really great place to go if you want to have fun, chill'out, dancing, etc...with your friends. There is different ton of music in each rooms, and usually during the weekday, you have, like special night, You should go on the website of Club Six to know the events because you have a lot!!! more

Best SF's underground club! 10/30/2007

Consisting of three rooms, club six offers music and atmosphere for everyone, who knows how to party! Some of the best DJ?s from San Francisco like DeeCee make this club unique. It?s opened nearly every day and possesses cool events with Hip-Hop, Reggae, Dub, House and Electronic music. The drinks are good and cheap, no dress code, people and bar tenders are very friendly and the sound is bombastic! You?ll have to check this out! Pros: not expensive, no dress code, good DJ's and sounds, nice atmosphere more

Best 10/29/2007

Bar is very cool to meet people in upstairs. The downstairs is great for dancing. The Club Six consists of three rooms all offering some of the best San Francisco Dj's and some guests from other cities. The upstairs is spacious and loungey room. Club Six has been renovated those days. They added 3rd dance floor and VIP rooms for guests to chit chat spot. As a result, bringing some singers who are John Legend, Common, Mos Def, Damian Marley, KRS1 etc?. The women are not only beautiful, friendly but also totally unpretentious in there. It is the nice place to mingle and relax. Club Six seem to a NYC industrial upstairs and downstairs is the best place to dance and drink the night. The club has a sophisticated atmosphere and definitely diverse scene compared with other the Clubs. more

Best Nights at Six 9/16/2007

Club Six is awesome. Best dance music and drinks in the Bay. DeeCee puts on the best shows there. His D.J. list s incredible. When I see that DeeCee is putting on the night, I run. The girls love it too. You got to come out to Six. more

The message is in the music! 8/29/2006

People who understand Club 6 understand that the message is in the music! that's why they consistently book some of the best known live music & DJs (ie: Lady Sovereign, Babysham, Jazzy Jeff, Mix Master Mike, Doc Martin, Interpol).... this is truly a club for people that love music but hate the usual club fare.... whoever is behind this place is a genius! Pros: it's like 3 clubs in 1! Cons: only 1 photo booth more

Worst expierience ever 7/21/2006

This is the worst club in SF, No parink, Rude Bouncers, Slow Bartenders, terrible music, Ugly crowd, Good luck! Pros: none Cons: Everthing more

Best for Hip Hop 6/20/2006

One of San Franciscos finest spots for hip hop and r'n'b lovers. It has everything from live performances to DJs an awsome breakdancing. Pros: Live Music Cons: nothing I can think of more

My home away from home 5/16/2006

This club has a lot for everyone, very multi cultural and a good down to earth atmosphere. Tons of room to lounge and kick back, three rooms all offering some of the best SF DJs and performers from all over. Mos Def, KRS One, Digable Planets, Afrika Bambaata, ?uestlove, Zion I, Miri Ben Ari, DJ Swamp...just a few to name. The drinks are definitely strong and the music is always good. Thursdays are packed for Give Thankz (reggae) and all weekend long...Im there sometimes 3 nights a week!! Parking is best across the street on 6th for $10...kinda steep but for a single female you dont wanna be walking much alone in this area. Sometimes the club stays open until 4am!! Pros: Drinks, Dancing, Performers Cons: Area more

This Venue brings in John Legend, Common, Mos Def, Damian Marley, KRS1 & great DJ's just look at their calendar. People who enjoy dancing & music come here. They had a Reggae night & upstairs had Jamaican food it was great! This club can also stay open till 3am. Like I always say know before you go! Club Six 3/29/2005

Club Six is nice but good luck finding parking! once you do find parking, you'll find it a nice place to be. i love this place cause the people are great and the bar isn't swarming packed. upstairs is huge and loungey. the dance floor downstairs is HOT because it's a basement. i didn't think that was such a bright idea, but oh well. i still like the place. i do reccomend it here because it's a good vibe and great music! more

amazing house music...if that's enough 12/31/2004

If you're passionate about house music you'll probably enjoy a night at Club Six. Most DJs are phenomenally talented and creative. It has a distinctive underground feel--a welcome respite from many of the cheesy clubs that decorate the city, and very conducive to some serious dancing. The women are beautiful, hip, friendly, and totally unpretentious. That said, Club Six may have enough negative attributes to poison the entire experience. To begin with, clubbers have to traverse through one of the worst areas in SF; though I didn't have any problems, I wouldn't want to go alone. The house music is downstairs in an incredibly hot room with no ventilation. What really disappointed me, however, was the male portion of the crowd. They were rude, unsophisticated boys who looked like they just stepped out of the frat house. Most of them were awful dancers to boot. Pros: great music, friendly staff, cool girls Cons: , bad neighborhood, awful guys more

The Real Deal 9/3/2004

The DJs I've seen there have included: Jazzy Jeff, King Britt, Marshall Jefferson, Doc Martin, Spinna, Jesse Saunders, Afika Bambaataa, Juan Atkins, Mark Farina Freak Nasty, Truby Trio just to name a few. It's simple: no nightclub b.s., just great music and vibe to chill. Pros: great music, great vibe, no b.s. more

Too Hot Spot 4/18/2004

Club Six, on SF's newest hot strip, has a few good things going for it (diverse crowd, multiple bars, two levels) but has some serious flaws. First of all, the downstairs dance floor is way too hot (think high school basement dance party sans ventilation) and second, cover and drink prices seem to be be going up without an equivalent improvement in DJ's / Live acts Cons: , Expensive more

CLUB 6 is the BEST 8/26/2003

Since I've been goin to Club 6 for about 2 yrs i know the place very well...Let me just say it is the prefect place to mingle and relax upstairs and downstairs is the best place to dance and drink the night away..The scene is very diverse and there usually are a lot of hot girls there...CHECK IT OUT!! if you read this Angel(the owner and one of the best p ricans i know;)..hope to see ya soon! "j. lo" Pros: lively, fun, great music Cons: not great neighborhod more

Get's a "6" out of "10" 8/12/2003

I've only been to Club Six once, on a so-called "80's night". But, most of the music they played upstairs was early 90's George Michael and remixed Michael Jackson. The music downstairs was 70's disco electronica (i guess?). All in all, it's a cool place to practice your dance moves (I like early 90's music) because it isn't crowded. The staff, bouncers, etc. were extremely friendly. The only REAL con was that I couldn't start a tab at the bar, they only take cash. I guess they don't expect us to stick around all night? Oh well! Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Cash only, Drabby downstairs more

good downstairs, sucky upstairs 3/11/2003

Good music downstairs, pure crap upstairs. They need to stock the bar with more bartenders as well teach the current ones how to serve customers in order. It took me fifty minutes to get a couple beers and a water! Pros: good music downstairs, good crowd Cons: poor bartending, long wait for coats, bad music upstairs more

Fantastic venue; unique parties 12/8/2002

Club six is located in one of the less desirable spots in SF, but once you're past that, and bold enough to venture inside, they throw one of the best, and unique parties in this city. I had a chance to go there for Dhamaal, which is one of the more unusual events I know of. They've got two levels of contrasting moods and sounds; and for this event it was perfect. Lounge area upstairs, with a woman singing (very powerful and melodic), guitar, and tabla. The music on the dance floor downstairs varied from breakbeat, to jungle, mixed in with southasian flavor. I know they've got other great events like this one, and I plan on going back to check out what other novel sounds, and people I'll meet... more

this club is cool 12/3/2002

this spot is cool...i like the different mix of dance music here..it's not the boring elevator house or jiggy hiphop that you see at other spots...it's not the cleanest or prettiest...but it has a NYC indsutrial vibe that goes well with the music and type of parties they have...definitely a dancing club not a chit chat spot...try the basement level dancing experience if you missed the underground parties of the early 90's//// oh and drinks are strong as hell... Pros: music, down2earth crowd, price Cons: gets hot, funky area more

Editorial
  • In Short
The popular Berlin concept of filling bare spaces with tattered furniture and calling it a bar is vaguely honored at this warehouse-style club. The ground-floor lounge features hardwood floors and circular vintage couches wrapped around exposed steel beams. Hard-core clubbers head for the basement, a dark and slightly cavernous dance space lined with enough couches for a people-watching conference.
