We went here because we're checking out places w/ private rooms for an event we're planning. Cascina's cuisine, cozy atmosphere & private rooms seemed like a possibility but this place has no idea how to treat customers considering having their event there. When we arrived, either the chef or one of the cooks was sitting outside - he was very friendly &, later, he directed me to additional restrooms downstairs - he was the most personable one there all night! Our waiter was busy w/ other tables for a while after we were seated, so as we sat looking around w/ our menus closed, a bunch of other waiters & a manager stood by looking at us. None of them reassured us that our waiter would be coming soon, or offered to get us water, drinks, bread, nothing. Our waiter wasn't too friendly at first, even after we disclosed we were considering having an event there. It took a few visits to our table for him to be warm & personable (maybe he was frazzled by the few table he had?! Oh well, better friendliness later than never, I guess...). After the meal, another waiter showed us the upstairs private rooms but he didn't know anything about rates, policies, etc. The manager started to walk upstairs & we thought, great, he'll talk to us all about it. But the manager saw us, turned around & went back downstairs! Even after seeing that we were interested in renting the room! We were appalled, why should we chase after this guy to find out information about having a party there?! He saw us & IGNORED us! Even the hostesses were bored outta their skulls, standing lifelessly & saying nothing as we left. Do they staff this place w/ their ""B Team"" on Sunday nights?! All that aside, the food was good - delicious pizza, tasty specials. If I were starving & happened to be in the area during a blizzard or some other reason to go inside, MAYBE I'd dine here again (my husband refuses to), but it's doubtful. There are many other places in this city that know a thing or two about great service.
Pros: Pizza, Specials, Private rooms (though no one talked to us about 'em...)
Cons: SERVICE, MANAGEMENT
