I was having a great time at the bar with some male and female friends one weekend until the bouncer tried to push me and told me I had to leave. I was asked to stay by my male f...

Yesterday, I went to see Josh Groban in Bloomingdales and my husband found the Carriage House. After the concert, I met him there and I was very pleased with with food, service, kindness and overall ambiance. The bartender was very nice and helpful! We even got extra pickles. (They were great!) It was not overly priced as one would think in the city. My husband and I will definitely go back there again. I'll post some pictures, too, of this delightful bar. more

Fun Wednesday night out 3/30/2012

My boyfriend and I were shopping in Bloomingdales and wanted a quick bite and a beer, we were recommended to pop into The Carriage House up the street. we got to the bar and were greeted by a lovely blond Irish girl behind the bar, who made us feel like we were back in Ireland, she recommended we had the great Guinness and a shepherds pie and fish and chips and we were not disappointed, really tasty food, good Guinness and the barmaid had us laughing all night, I think she said her name was Pam.I would definitely recommend this bar forpeoplewho want a nice pint, tasty pub food and a great friendly (tanned) authentic Irish bartender and service, we will be back every Wednesday!! PARTY PARTY PARTY 6/2/2011

Me and some friends from out of town were shopping in my favorite part of town. Midtown. Cute Boutiques along with Bloomingdales, Urban, H&M, Steve Madden, Diesel, Ect..... We were EXHAUSTED and THIRSTY!!! We saw the Carriage House's Irish flag peaking out on 59th St... We got a awesome window seat. Our waitress was very friendly and suggested great cocktails. Typical bar food, but good. more

Review Well Deserved 3/9/2011

On a random night out, we ended up at The Carriage House. From the moment we walked in the door we were warmly greeted and well looked after. I ordered the Lamb Special with Mash Potatoes and Gravy.....YUM YUM YUM!!!! more

Satisfaction!! 2/23/2011

After seeing a movie we were looking for a place to grab a drink. We found The Carriage House!!!!!! Really great atmosphere. The staff was really friendly.. I was in the mood for beer and wings.. Hands down the coldest beer I have had in Manhattan!!! There were ice crystals on my glass!! I had the mild wings and my friend got the super hot.. The mild were just perfect and the super hot were not overly hot... Although I live in Brooklyn, I will be making a trip to The Carriage House in the near future!!! more

Great Night Out!!!! 1/5/2011

Went to meet friends here for a drink before dinner down the street.. To start the staff was extremely nice and accomodating, as our party of 4 grew to 10... They sat us in the back near the pool table. Everyone was having such a great time.. We scratched our dinner plans and stayed here all night!!! Try the passion fruit martini!!! and hands down the Best Burger I have had in a Long time!!!!! more

An Oasis in Midtown East 10/1/2010

This was a return trip... and a good one. There are slim pickin' in Midtown, on the east side... especially after the Khaki crew leaves and Bloomingdales closes. But this place is a find. The staff is as friendly as leprechauns... and as Irish. With a decent beer selection (They had Sam Adams Octoberfest... on tap), and a nice, if not especially innovative appetizer selection (the Super Hot wings were hot enough... but the HOT, nahw...), you can nicely fill up here. The crew was accommodating, holding us a table in a prime spot and then letting us shift furniture when others showed up. This is not a part of town to go beer (or bar) hopping, but if you find yourself thirsty, and it's late, you can't do better than this place. --Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC drinkers... a different bar every week more

Tender, juicy, deliciously good! My first time here was the day before Father's day. A special treat for my husband, our kids and closest friends. Although the service and the prime rib were excellent I more

Great burgers, amazing sweet potato fries, stiff drinks and fun-loving staff. 12/4/2008

There is a to-die-for Passion fruit martini here for those who don't do liquor straight. Lots of flat panel T.V.'s to watch ESPN or music videos on. Pool tables , darts and video gaming to past the time. A great staff that is more than happy to feed you one of their yummy items off the menu. Pros: Great atmosphere. Lots of crazy lil decorations Cons: Bathrooms are not cute but what dive bar bathrooms are? more

Waste of time and money.... 10/29/2008

Horrible fried food.....slow bar service... unfriendly waitresses who spent most of there time texting than working.... Don't waste your time...... more

Friendlier than a puppy! 10/10/2008

Wow! Even the bouncers are friendly at this SLIGHTLY off the main drag bar. Yeah, the music is too loud, making conversation difficult. But that's the only thing I can think of to complain about. The wait-staff is effecient and so friendly you begin to wonder if this is New York. Ann, our waitress, sat down at out table with us and asked about our club. She actually seemed interested. She got our orders right, gave us a free cocktail, and a dish that someone else ordered and then changed their mind about. Even the bouncer, was nice-- and he's SUPPOSED to be mean! I'm sure glad this place isn't as popular as it should be... you'd never get in! --Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC drinkers Pros: friendly staff, decent food & drink, great atmospher Cons: music a bit too loud for conversation more

No women..... 10/2/2008

This bar is the worst bar i have ever been to in New York City.... Tastless food, angry people arguing while playing pool, felt like there was a fight ready to break out any minute.... i love Irish bars but this place is not a bar that you could just walk in and pick up a friendly game of pool.... Was full of angry irish men fighting over a game of pool.... horrible table service..... more

A great bar for getting together! 9/19/2008

This bar is an excellent bar for hanging out with friends. The standard jukebox has a decent selection, and the music isn't played so loud that you can't carry on a conversation. The food offered is better than average pub grub, I highly recommend the wings. The Carriage House is roomy enough that you don't have to continually keep moving out of peoples way if you're standing near the bar, and there is an area at the front that you can actually reserve for parties or whatever reason. more

Great for a get-together or after work drink 9/19/2008

The Carriage House is great for a gathering after work or on the weekends. We've been several times and always have a good time. Attentive staff, good jukebox (not so loud you have to yell to talk like other places), not too crazybusy, near the subway, good drinks and decent pub food. Thumbs up, A++, will go again! Pros: friendly, lots of space, pool tables Cons: none more

Very relaxing 9/18/2008

Cool place to go meet up with friends after work. They have the usual bar fare of deep fried foods, along with some Irish favorites (the shepherd's pie is delicious). The bartenders and owners are friendly, and they have a decent selection of endrunkening equipment. more

Casual and Friendly 9/18/2008

Not too crowded, good selection of beer and liquor, always friendly to me and my friends when we go. Owners are really nice, too. Decent music and prices. Lots of space (well, for a NYC bar)! :) It's a good place to chill. Pros: relaxed atmosphere, service, selection, not too loud Cons: Not particularly unique more

disappointing.. 8/7/2008

Just like the irish would say, SHITE! Keep walking up second to the 80's to a buzzing avenue full of bars, restaurants and great nightlife... more

Avoid is right.... 7/7/2008

All the food is deep fried and draft beer is warm and sour..... I agree, venture a little further up towards the 70's/80's - much better bars with more women and better food.... sorry..... Just don't want anyone to make the same mistake me and my buddies made! more
