I've only had the grilled chicken breast sandwich, but it was delicious. I'll definitely be back for more. more

paragon!! 8/9/2009

I had Birthday at Paragon 8*8*09. What a mess! The food was great my server Sarah was great... BUT her co-worker would like to say Melissa is her name or the sloppy mess from hell, dropped a chk book made a scene as she picked it up then she herself sat on the dinner room floor, Yes on the floor 2:30 int he afternoon fussed around then got up hands on floor pushed herself up and picked her weggie and went about her buisness, I don't think she realized that she is the food industry and someones always watching. The saddest part about all this is the Mgr Paul was actually about a foot away from her and nothing was said AT ALL. Aint that some *#@! Pros: Thayer st more

worst service on thayer 4/14/2009

I ordered ice tea, it was just terrible. I couldn't drink and I asked syrup, they had the syrup only for pancake. How can they serve ice tea without syrup? I told the waitress that I couldn't drink, then she said ""It's okay."" I thought she was nice enough not to charge ice tea but she did charge and was not nice at all! She even didn't ask why I couldn't drink etc. Just say okay and charge! It is not OKAY! The manager passed by, so I told him the story but basically his attitude was the same. I would never go there again and would not recommend this place. They just don't know the basis manner of serving, even the manager! Pros: location Cons: bad service more

Awesome food, entertaining staff 2/26/2009

Dropped in on my way to Boston from PVD airport. Picked them at random from Citysearch. Recent remodeling of the back bar looked pleasently sophisticated. Ken was working the bar and made everyone feel at home. The mussels were fantastic - a little small compared with the monsters I got at Legal Seafood a couple days later, but they tasted better - perfect even and were cooked exactly right. After the mussels I expected the french burger to be a let down, but it wasn't. I tried to avoid stuffing myself but I kept reaching back for one more bite until it was gone. I'd come back in a heartbeat. Pros: Ken is definitely a Pro Cons: A little worried about parking with the panhandlers around, but I'm from out of town more

Still one of the best 11/6/2006

Paragon remains one of my favorite restaurants in Providence and is still one of the more reasonably priced. The food is consistently terrific and is perfect for bringing a large group of people to, since you can get everything from a burger (which are great) to a fancy pasta dish (the lobster ravioli with shrimp and swordfish is the best deal in Providence). Pros: Great food, great value, nice atmosphere Cons: Long wait on busy nights more

cool place 9/21/2006

i really like paragon. the food's consistently good, you can almost always get a table or atleast find room at the bar and it just has a nice upbeat, young vibe. more

one of my favorites 3/29/2006

This is the one place I always try to take visitors to because it is so good! I've tried the pizza and the pasta, but by far my favorites are the burgers and the chicken sandwich with peppers and mozzarella! The french fries and mashed potatoes are also delicious. Parking can be a hassle but the trip is always worth it! Pros: ambience, quality of food Cons: pay for soda refills, parking more

Best burger! 5/5/2004

What a deal -- a fantastic burger and fries at a low price, in a real restaurant that can accomodate children, friendly dates, business conversation or a large group of friends. The rest of the menu is okay (I've had good pasta and salads, and mediocre pizza) but it is the burgers that shine. more

Excellent Food 3/26/2004

Cafe Paragon is one of the best restaurants in Providence. The food is excellent, especially the french fries. I'd say that most meals are from $6-$10, which is worth the price because they give you a lot of food. The decor is very stylish and new age, and the atmosphere is very appealing. The only negative is that on Friday and Saturday nights you usually have to wait at least 20 minutes before being seated. Pros: excellent food, great atmosphere, great service Cons: , crowded more

TOP OF THE PARAGON 7/8/2003

That fabulous salad with gorganzola cheese was a surprise and delight on a scorching june 24, 2003 afternoon. Great service and atmosphere. How lucky I was to walk in there! Everyone should go here often. Pros: upscale, not expensiv, airy atmosphere, great attitude Cons: wish I could stay, with I could eat more, wish I could return more

Innovative Food, Value Priced 12/15/2002

I have never had a bad meal at Paragon/Viva. Have I had to wait? Yes. Is the timing of your app and main course off sometimes? Yes. But having said that, the food is creative, tasty, plentiful and value priced. If you don't mind the Euro-Smoking crowd, Viva (attached) is also nice. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Crowded, Smokey more

Favorite affordable restaurant 12/4/2002

Cafe Paragon is my favorite affordable restaurant in Rhode Island! Great atmosphere for those looking for a 'Happening Place' to dine with all the 'Beautiful People'. You can't find a better value for what is offered. Pros: Inexepensive, Good Food, Great Martinis more

Paragon Makes Me look Good 10/24/2002

I had a few friends visiting from the West Coast so I thought I'd try something new for Brunch. Everyone I talked to recomended this place for its portions size and casual cafe' atmosphere, they were right on target. Most of our party was on time but there was a few that were fashioably late. That let out waitress show her personality and skills. She kept ontop of our drinks and made light of they're tardiness. When we finally ate the food was great. Salads seemed to be the popular entree, and the portion size was much more than we bargained for. After two appetizers,4 entrees and an afternoon of drinking I was very happy with the bill. Not cheap but I think we got what we paid for...A fun casual dining experience Pros: Potion Size, College Atmosphere, Good Service Cons: Parking, Cafe Street Front, Not Closer more

not worth the wait 8/9/2002

The few times that I have eaten here I have found the waitstaff to be rude and the food to be not worth the wait. We always call ahead and when we get there they quote us 15-20 minutes and all three times we ended up waiting anywhere from an hour to two and a half hours. It's just not worth it. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Crowded, Rude Staff, Long Waits more

Table for two, please 8/8/2002

Having just moved to Providence, we've been trying quite a few places and Paragon is by far the best yet! They do what they do and they do it quite well...from drinks and calamari to salads and dinners, we've found this place to satisfy our every dining desire ( and we still have enough money to go back the next day!!) Pros: outside seating, good value, trendy atmosphere more

A Paragon of Greatness 8/7/2002

Of all the things Paragon deserves credit for, it is its location. Centered on Thayer street, the shopping smorgasbord of Providence, Paragon is a great place to stop and eat during a day of shopping. Paragon is also a great date place, and a great place to get a drink on a night out. However, because of its greatness, it seems to fill up quickly during the hot nights of the week (Friday and Saturday), so get a reservation before hand. Pros: Location, Service more

good food, ambiance, and value 7/31/2002

While the Euro-type atmosphere of Paragon make it look like it might be an expensive place, it really is the best value for a burger or sandwich on Thayer street. Everyone has their favorite -- you have to try them all before deciding for yourself. For under 10 bucks you can get a great burger with some gourmet fries. Try to avoid the place during peak dinner hours and weekends when tons of Brown parents are visiting college hill - it gets very crowded and can be a wait. Pros: Good food, Good value, Good location Cons: Long waits, Smoke in bar area more

excellent 7/25/2002

the food is incredible. the atmosphere is relaxed. try the filet. it is the best i have found in the state!!! for 16.50 you get the filet and garlic mashed. you can't beat the prices. more
