Great Food. Great service. It is my favorite place to take all my family and friends. The portions are BIG so you might want to get a half order not full. The garlic balls are to die for. I always order the full just so i can have leftovers to take home and they always give me extra garlic balls. If you have not gone there, then you are missing out on a great treat. Pros: great meals, fine wine, great service Cons: valet parking, always crowded, make reservations more

good service, bad food 4/23/2006

we made reservations but they did not have a table inside for us so we were seated outside. it was very windy that day and we had one of those heaters next to our table that did not keep anyone warm. many tables had at least two heaters near them and they were seated in the back where it wasn't as windy. the food was the worse i have ever had. it is pretty hard to make pasta taste bad but the food was so bad that i got sick from it afterwards. the garlic rolls were pretty good though. Pros: garlic rolls Cons: food more

This Is Not Real Italian Food!!! 4/21/2006

Adding a ton of spices to a sauce does not make it good!!! It should be good on its own. This is by far one of the worst Italian places I have gone to in Los Angeles. Thank goodness we got there early and didn't have to wait to park or wait to get it. It wouldn't have been worth it and would have made the experience more of a nightmare. I couldn't believe the crowd that was waiting to get in when we left. I wanted to tell them not to waste their time. If for some reason you have to go to this place, make sure you have plenty of Tums at home. You are going to need them! more

Fun, romantic place with very decent food. 11/18/2005

C&O is a cheerful place, with a crowded open-roof dining area that manages not to be too loud. The atmosphere is festive, the waiters are attentive (we were told that we could call on any waiter, not just the first one who took our order). Even on a chilly November night, it wasn't too cold with the abundant heatlamps. The food is above average--nothing fantastic, but for the price, it works. The real reason to come is the breadrolls. They are hot out of the oven and simply amazing. At least once while you dine the entire restaurant breaks out into That's Amorre! which could be construed as cheesy, but if you are willing to go along with it (in addition to the serve-yourself Cianti), it's actually quite enjoyable. I was sold on this place a long time ago. Shockingly, we were seated here in 10 minutes last night. Pros: fun atmosphere, amazing breadrolls!, reasonable prices Cons: wait to be seated, parking more

cheap italian food in a mediocre setting 11/7/2005

came here once, with a large group of friends. the food was sub-par, although the portions were big; if that's your thing, this is your kind of place. personally, i didn't enjoy the school cafeteria-like atmosphere nor the food. there's an on-your-honor refill of the chianti, so perhaps if you're drunk enough you wouldn't mind sitting like a sardine and just stuffing your face with ""italian food"". if you're that hard up on money and want italian, save yourself some hassle and just order some take-out pizza. Pros: ????? Cons: crowded, cheap quality food more

Loud & Cheap Birthday! 10/22/2005

reetercat Provided by Partner
C & O Trattoria goes off on the weekends. It's filled with everything from yuppies, celebs, high school kids and families. Did I mention a room full of birthday parties? The restaurant is hectic and crazy, but once you are seated, the friendly wait staff helps you forget the mayhem around your table. They fill you with wine, (which runs about 40 bucks for aprrox. 2 liters), and bread until a calm comes over you. The staff has it down to a science! This joint is perfect for the "birthday drama queen" - someone that wants to sing, eat and have a festive atmosphere on their special day. The food is nothing special and the house chianti may give you a headache the next day, but it's worth it for the party atmosphere. (think: express birthday party) The group sing-along gets better as the night goes on! Pros: Group Seating, Affordable, Family Style plates Cons: Crowded, Hectic, Wait w/ reservation more

Guaranteed Great Time! 8/21/2005

Not exactly what I'd choose for a romantic dinner alone, but if you've got family in from out of town and you don't know what to do for dinner - take them to C&O. The servers are always friendly and make ordering easy (which may seem overwhelming because of all the options). My advice - whatever meal you order, plan on wrapping it up and eating it the next day so you can eat as many killer garlic rolls as you want! You can't go wrong with the honor wine system, and when the bill arrives everyone is impressed with how low it is. Oh, and by the end of the night you'll know the lyrics to 'That's Amore!"" more
