Worst

good food, rel cheap and good uptown alternative atmosphere- perfect for laid back days Pros: local hang out, good food, rel. cheap Cons: bad service, busy

Amazing in every way 6/20/2010

Love it, can't say anything bad about this wonder. The service food and atmosphere ROCK! THANK YOU BLB! YOUR NEIGHBORS LOVE YOU! Pros: Service, food more

Unique 7/16/2009

Nice alternative menu. The only thing I would change is the coffee policy. Please go back to unlimted refills. more

Disappointed 3/11/2009

Tables are too small, the food was bland and over priced, and the service was extremely slow. No way I'd ever go back. more

Great food, not your typical bowling alley 2/22/2009

The food is fresh and wonderful with many organic ingredients. My party ordered the bison burger, the chicken philly steak, and the latka ratatouille. The rataouille was a great example of how vegatarian food doesn't have to taste bad and bland. This dish is full of flavor. The bison was execellent with a nice fresh taste. Service was good; our waitress was very nice. We went on a Sunday night so we didn't need to fight a crowd and we found parking easily. Will for sure come again to try the ahi tuna! Pros: Fresh tasting well prepared good food, organic, wide variety Cons: parking is a bit far if you can't find street parking, tight seating areas more

Busy but fun! 7/18/2007

Just a very cool place to hang out, great atmosphere, with a really interesting (and tasty) menu of free-range/organic foods. Cheap, too! more

good atmosphere, spotty otherwise 10/30/2006

Be aware that when it is crowded it is very unlikely that you will get the opportunity to eat or bowl. I went on a saturday at 8, interested in drinking and bowling. The tables were all full so we sat at the bar. we were told 1 hr to bowl. at 9:30 we were told it would be at least an hour to bowl. at 11pm, with still an hour+ remaining to bowl we called it quits. by that time some of the tables opened up and it felt more like a bar than a restaraunt. The bartender was kind of indifferent to us. The waitstaff was not friendly in passing at the bar. the crowd seemed a little pretentious. Pros: cool place, fun to bowl, parking Cons: long wait, staff, crowd more

Great Place for Everyone! 8/3/2006

I recently went to the Bryant Lake Bowl and found it to be fantastic in every way. My boyfriend who came with me is normally very picky about his food and he ordered the bison philly and he thought it was amazing. I had the organic chicken and it was delicious. I did notice the menu had a wide selection of food that would cater to the masses. I found the staff very friendly. And the atmosphere was very quaint. I highly recommend visiting the Bryant Lake Bowl!!! Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

Best Spot in Uptown, dont pass this up! 8/3/2006

The Bryant-Lake Bowl is my favorite bar, bowling alley, restaurant, breakfast place, theater venue, and place in uptown. I live in the area and this is the place I love to be! The staff is sweet, sincere, and attentive. The food is amazing! I have dietery allergies and they are always kind and helpful so I can find something to eat and drink, they never fail to impress me. The Bryant-Lake Bowl throws two free Block Parties every summer (their sister restaurant also doe Bastille Day) and offer reasonably priced, delicious, organic, sustainable food, and a free concert to boot. The Bryant-Lake Bowl is a great neighborhood restaurant that really seems to care about their customers, staff, and local community. If I could marry the BLB I would! Pros: Great Neighborhood Bar Cons: Long wait to bowl on weekend nights more

Fun place, great food 3/22/2006

My boyfriend and I ate there on a Wednesday night after hearing the food there was good. It was excellent! He had a burger and I had the pesto giglio; both were wonderful. We shared guacamole dip and chips for an appetizer and that was also good, although the onion was quite strong but we both like onion so it was fine. Our server was adorable. Great beer selection, and prices for food and drinks were reasonable. Our bill came out to be about $40, not bad for an appetizer, two entrees, and four beers. Will definitely go back. more

Best beer selection in town 12/1/2005

This is one of those spots that's just cool with even trying. Interesting menu items, AUTHENTIC retro-cool styling, and one of the best beer selections in town. And cheap date night is an all out steal - two entrees, a bottle of decent wine and two games of bowling? I can't think of a better way to spend a monday evening. if you're a serious bowler, this place is not for you - the lanes, balls, and shoes all look to be original. And all of this attracts a hip and diverse crowd. Pros: Beer selection, clientele, atmosphere Cons: Bowling Facilities, Long waits for bowlin more

No Service 11/18/2005

Went over to Bryant Lake Bowl this morning for breakfast. The restaurant floors were very dirty, the menu had pieces of onion and other food items left on the plastic cover, the coffee was served without a spoon, and the waiter never returned to take our order. We got up, paid for the coffee at the counter, and left. It was easier to go back home and cook our own breakfast. Pros: Interesting Menu Cons: No Service, Dirty Floors more

Josh and Scarlett 9/25/2005

Good place, great clientele, fun atmosphere, tastey breakfast. Apparently frequented by local Josh Hartnett. Recently was there with gf Scarlett Johansson. more

An evening at an alley...for bowling... 3/6/2005

Choice venue for quiet late afternoons, each plate made to order with locally grown produce, charming beer-savvy staff, great music, an armada of the best taps and bottled beer in the city, daily meat and seafood entrees and the best vegetarian (though you wouldn't know it) chili I've ever eaten. A steal with cheap date night set against geometric, uniquely chromatic, 1950's decor and lighting. Breakfast on weekends is bustling, but worth the wait, superb coffee, the best of breakfast burritos and great combinations with their BLB scrambles. Breakfast til early afternoon on Sunday. Pros: Food, Beer, Bowling Cons: Smoke more

If you don't ""belong"" you're out. 12/25/2003

Be very careful of how you look, talk and dress when (if) you go here. Servers are nasty, rude, slow and condescending. They act as if they are doing YOU a favor, and even your existance is abhorent to them. Ask for nothing and tip very well, you might be treated only slightly rudely. Food's good, but nowhere near enough to fill up, and the prices are way too high. Pros: Bowling alley, good food, people watching Cons: lousy service, rude service, snotty servers more

Very smoky 3/1/2003

This place is interesting b/c it has a theater, bowling alley, and restaurant all in one. The food here is good, the service is a hit and miss. I avoid eating here only because I smell like a college bar when I leave. The ventilation system can't handle the amount of smoke and it actually ruins my appetite each time. I can stomach bowling there though, which is fun along with great selections of beer. Pros: bowling alley, good food, interesting staff Cons: only beer served, crammed tables, lots of smoke more

What's the hubbub? 1/22/2003

I cannot possibly conceive why this joint gets all the acclaim. On what could be called one of the worst dates I've ever been on, we waited 45 minutes at our table after our ""server"" told us he'd be ""right back"" before we left. It's loud, crowded, the tables are way too small, and the food isn't worth what they ask. Sorry, Bryant-Lake Bowl... I'm not coming back. Pros: Bowling!, Beer!, Veggie Food Cons: Service awful, Too pricey more

Locals abound (hopefully) 11/24/2002

The beer selection is top-notch, and the food is phenominal. You can bowl (if lucky enough to get a lane) or see bands and theater. What more can anyone ask for? The bartenders and waitstaff are professional and friendly (and really know their beer). A disconcerting trend of suburban teenagers attending has begun, but it is usually not completely disruptive. No liquor, however. Pros: Beer Selection, Good Waitstaff, Fun Bowling Cons: No Liquor, sometimes packed, can be spendy more

slice em and dice em 7/18/2002

good food, rel cheap and good uptown alternative atmosphere- perfect for laid back days Pros: local hang out, good food, rel. cheap Cons: bad service, busy more
