Best

Hank Aarron is by far the best BMW dealership in the city, maybe in the country. Mike in the service department has helped me for years.

Worst

Wow! They were friendly, but that doesn't make up for the fact they tried to steal $11K from me. For instance: they wanted $273 to replace a $4 dollar part. They recommended ma...

Absolutely great experience 5/17/2012

Absolutely great experience. I went in with the idea of what I wanted and found an extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff that had what I needed. My experience with another Mini dealer was less impressive, but Mini of South Atlanta blew me away. Jessica is a Mini owner and you could tell that she adores the cars that she sells. Mrs. Ruth was straight-forward and kind in explaining the finance terms to me for questions that she had probably heard a million times. I would recommend the dealer again in the future for sure! more

Never steered me wrong 5/9/2012

Quentin Stephens was the first person I purchased a car from 15 years ago when I moved to Atlanta, Georgia. He has never steered me wrong and has guided me in every car I've purchased. Additionally, Mr. Stephens works with a superb group of people. In my most recent purchase, Mr. Tony Lee, assisted me and he was very attentive during the entire transaction. I always feel like I've done the right thing when dealing with BMW of South Atlanta. This is the second car I've purchased from this dealership. All I can say is when you receive excellent service, it keeps you coming back. more

I wanted all of the bells and whistles 5/4/2012

I am a techy nerd and am pretty spoiled so I wanted all of the bells and whistles. Plus I love a manual and had to have the bench seat for Beastie hauling. So with that said my requirements were pretty stiff. I left my stipulations with Jessica to call if she found anything matching so I began my search all over the US. I wasn't able to find any in the US that met my requirements. So back to Mini of South Atlanta where Jessica helped us put in our order. Now I don't know about most people but two months is a long time for me. To make things worse we sold the SUV within the first week we had it up for sale so we were down to one vehicle. Jessica was so good at keeping me informed. It made the wait less painful. I had sort of become obsessed with this car who I named Rupert. I joined a forum for Mini enthusiasts and heard so many horrible stories about people not being able to get in contact with their dealer for anything. I just kept bragging on how good my ""MiniPerson"", I called her, was. Mini offers an Owners Lounge tracking service and it was at least a day behind but Jessica was texting or emailing me any updates as soon as they happened. After production she let me know the boat Rupert was on and the estimated arrival date. more

BEST experience 4/24/2012

Oh where do I begin? From start to finish, this has been the BEST experience I have ever had with a delearship (And.. I've had a lot). I walked in and was greeted warmly, toured a few cars and test drove the car that I ended up purchasing. My 2007 Mini Cooper S has been a dream and even when I was having an issue, I brought the car in and Brian Barrett in Service was nothing short of fantastic. In an economy like this, with prices and rates being crazy, it's really refreshing to know there are great people out there that are willing to make the car buying experience phenomenal and super easy. Thank you! You guys are absolutely fantastic. ""Nigel"" is great=) more

I love my BMW 5 series 4/18/2012

I want to first say ""I love my BMW 5 series"". With the help of my sales person Leroy Simms, who was very professional and quite hilarious. I've been a customer of BMW since 2009 when I purchased a 3 series from Global Imports. My buying experience with Global was so overwhelming and unsatisfying, that I wanted to take my business else where. I shopped at other BMW stores in the Atlanta area and didn't find what I was looking for. Because I didn't want the inconvenience of driving back into the Atlanta area, I searched for a BMW store closer to my home. BMW of South Atlanta wasnt the closest, but close enough than the other stores. After speaking with Leroy over the phone, I felt like family. He very was personable which made feel comfortable. After arriving at the dealership I was negotiating and meet Mr. Stephens. All I can say Leroy,Quentin you guys were a world class act again! I will be back!!!!! more

RUN FROM THIS PLACE(cause your mini won't work)... 9/16/2011

Wow! They were friendly, but that doesn't make up for the fact they tried to steal $11K from me. For instance: they wanted $273 to replace a $4 dollar part. They recommended many things that I know I did not need, or could easily do myself for a fraction of the cost. Of course, the issue I brought it in for ""could not be serviced"", so they recommended a new part at $7743. I fixed it myself for $55. It cost me a few hours of my time, which I was trying to save by taking it to them, but I'd rather keep my 11K. For their lies they charged me $150, which was absolutely wasted. This was the 2nd time I had a bad experience at this Mini service center. I remembered why I left... more

Customer Service Is The Worst 7/12/2011

I took my car in to BMW South for an oil change and they some how reset my brake light so the brake light would not go off in the car not only would they not fix it they denied that the light was not on when I took it to them. The Service Manager spoke with me and he was very rude and it was just a bad experience. I called the owner of the dealership and his receptionist contacted me the day after and said she would call me back that Monday and I haven't heard from anyone. I will not be dealing with this location the Service Manager is the most unprofessional person I have every meet and the customer service sucks..... more

Very Friendly BMW & MINI dealer in Atlanta 5/27/2011

I first visited BMW and MINI of South Atlanta this morning. I was invited to an event that they had at the store for the MINI Countryman. I loved the Countryman and if the family was smaller I would likely get one. I did fall in love with the new, 2012 BMW 650 convertible. What a car! Everyone is so nice and the place is very convenient drive from my place in Atlanta. I met the BMW and MINI staff. I found out that they come from everywhere to work here. One guy, the Service Manager with all of the jokes, drives his BMW everyday from the Columbus area. Very friendly and not at all snobby like some of the high end car dealers. more

The Worst of The Worst 1/13/2011

First don't ever give them your email address they will spam you forever regardless of how many times you opt out of their email list. Second getting the deal in writing from this dealership means nothing. I had ordered a car from them and deposited monies. The car was to be in the next week and I had a scheduled appt. to pick the car up. No phone call or email letting me know the car had not arrived. More than a month went by before the car came in. Only on my way there did they let me know they would not honor the deal I had in writing. They wanted several thousand more than the deal they offered claiming they would lose money if they sold me the car. I wanted my money back they wanted me to come in and discuss it. My only question was ""will you honor the deal you put in writing?"" Round and round on the phone they would not give a straight answer. After 20 minutes I said you either honor the deal or refund my money, they finally said no they would not honor the deal. One week later they refunded the money. Having all the documents in place I thought BMW corporate would want to know how one of their dealers treated a potential customer. BMW was not concerned. Fortunately I did not end up with a BMW. Checking the latest ratings from the J.D. Power survey proved that their cars are no better than their service today. BMW today is not the car it was several years ago, they fall to the bottom of the list in customer satisfaction and cars with the least problems per 100. I experienced why. more

Atlanta BMW Dealer treats customers right 12/22/2010

Okay, I'll admit that my wife's BMW is not new and we have had it since before we were married 8 years ago. It is a fun car to drive and we take it to the beach in the summer. \r A couple of weeks ago a trouble light came on. The car still drove well, and since it wasn't a daily driver, I put of taking it in. The closest Atlanta BMW dealer to my home is BMW of South Atlanta. I made an online service appointment and showed up. \r It turns out that the problem was a software upgrade was needed and it would be fixed later that day. I took them up on a BMW loaner car, even though my car was far out of warranty, and went about my business for a day off.\r When I got back my wife's BMW was spotless! They had it cleaned, and it looked like it went through a professional detail. . . and the service light was out. Unlike other BMW shops in Atlanta I was not kept waiting, the bill was inexpensive and everything was done on time.\r Mark me as completely satisfied! more

Shopping Experience both online and at store 4/17/2010

Friday afternoon I sent in an internet request for information on the mini clubman. A couple of hours later I received an email from Amanda saying she would get right back to me but as of late Saturday afternoon I never heard back. I visited the showroom today and was greeted by Vince who turned me over to Mary since he only sales BMW's. Mary was friendly enough until I told her I did not want my license photo copied in order to test drive a mini. (I suppose I listened to too many Clark Howard shows to want to give out my license and deal with the potential problems) She said it was company policy and there was nothing she could do. A quick phone call to Asis at Global imports let me know they would allow a test drive without photo copying my license. Stopped back by Vince to let him know my disappointment and that I was off to Global. Vince then grabbed a key and took me out for a test drive. Unfortunately he turned me back over to Mary who insisted on having my personal information again just in order to quote me a price on the car including taxes for my county, tags etc! On my way out the door Mary followed yelling at me... A quick call to Asis at Global and I get the ""walk out the door price"" no problem. Too bad Mini of South Atlanta could not do the same they were actually $150 cheaper and the car was on the lot. Odds are if Vince were selling the mini's I would have drove home in a new car today but I will have to wait a couple of weeks for Global to get mine to GA. As far as I can tell the girls at Mini of South Atlanta have no follow up and no communication skills. They are just there to get your personal information. Very frustrating to deal with them. Pros: Vince from BMW side strong sales guy Cons: Amanda and Mary on the Mini side very frustrating more

Poor Service 3/22/2008

My new MINI had a little scratch on the hood. Hank Aaron Mini was supposed to send me a touch up kit in the mail... since I live almost 4 hours away. I never got it. I always get a voicemail when I call... and no one returns my calls. When I was purchasing my mini and they found out that I had less than perfect credit, I was treated like a peasant. They were all fine and fuzzy when they thought I was loaded with money. Really makes me sick. Cons: everything more

TERRIBLE Customer Service 2/6/2008

The customer follow through/service experience with Mini of South Atlanta is TERRIBLE!\r After I left them with my money, I was instantly forgotten. A few months after the purchase, one of my tires blew out and I called Mini Roadside Assistance to get towed to the nearest dealer. Imagine my surprise when they told me I was not the owner of my vehicle and so they could not tow my MINI. After speaking with the customer service person on the phone for several minutes I finally found out that the car had been registered in someone else's name prior to my having bought it. And although that purchase never went through, their name was still attached to my VIN number. \r \r After spending nearly an hour on the phone with the representative, I was finally able to (through begging and stretching the truth) get in the queue to be towed, but by then, the dealership was closing until the next day AND the car rental agency on the dealer lot that would have been able to give me a loaner car was closed until Monday. AND there was snow coming the next day (for Atlanta this is a HUGE weather catastrophe).\r \r After all this, I called Mini of South Atlanta to find out why my name wasn't attached to my car's VIN in the MINI system and also to get that corrected. But Amanda told me that she'd call me back the next day.Needless to say, I called her several times but got her voicemail. Never once a return phone call. A week later, I called back again and received another promise of a callback from her or her manager, but nothing came of that. The following day, I called back and asked for the manager directly. He tried to be nice however it quickly became obvious that he as didn't know how to handle the situation. \r \r Even though this dealership is cheaper than the rest (in my experience buying parts), I'll quickly pay the extra money and go to another dealership to have better customer service.\r \r Pros: Airport Park and Ride Cons: Cheaper parts more

Do Not Take Your Car Here or Buy A Car Here!!!! 1/7/2008

We bought a brand new vehicle (Mini Cooper) here and as soon as the car was driven off the lot no one would return our calls. The air didn't work on the BRAND new car, and they took four days to fix it. While they had it, they wouldn't even call me back to let me know when it would be ready! I called several times over a few days and got no response. Now the air is broken again, and they got an attitude about it becuase I told them I was going out of town in a few days and I needed it fixed! The car only has a couple thousand miles on it so that is ridiculous. It took them 6 months to get my plates - I live in NY most of the time and NY requires front plates, but there was no place to put it on the car, so when I took it in they charged me to put the plate on!! The place itself it unkempt- the bathroom stalls were falling off the wall when I was last there and it was dirty. All in all, the service and attitudes of the service department and the sales were poor, and they could care less once they make the sale. I take my BMW that I also own to United BMW in Roswell and have an excellent experience, so in comparison Hank Aaron is AWFUL! more
