Good food, service with a sneer 9/14/2002

The margaritas are pretty good, the food is great from what I have ordered -- particularly the guacamole. Just such lousy service - can't believe some of the wait staff - just plain rude. Too bad. more

A friend and I went to Bar Abilene after a movie and got a full dinner at around 12 am! that in itself is fabulous, but the fact that the food was actually decent at that hour was something rare and noteworthy. Our service was outstanding. The waitress was knowledgeable about the food and courteous and professional without being stuffy or pretentious. She even talked us in to sharing a ""flight"" of some very exotic tequilas. we washed that down with the best margaritas either of us have ever had. I would definately go there again. Overrated? Possibly. 8/11/2002

I took a first date to this restaurant and I must admit, it fell a bit short of my expectations. The service was lousy - our waitress seemed snobby and very impatient with us. The atmosphere certainly was appealing to the eye, but it was so loud that it became difficult to have a good conversation. The food was good and the presentation of my meal was excellent - but we were both rather surprised when the waitress responded to our request for bread with ""we don't do that here."" If your looking for options and flavor, this is the place to go for an incredible variety of margaritas. Looking for something fruity? You name your fruit. Something a little rougher? Dirty margarita is a fine option blending the best of the worlds of martinis and margaritas. Ambience is decent for mpls. A place to go with friends and no expectations. more
