I have had a good experience with getting a simple trim here. But their coloring work needs improvement: the students are obviously very inexperienced and need more help and attention from the supervisors on the floor. I got a color that was botched and had to be stripped because the batches didn't match. The final result 8 hours after I arrived was ok but not what I bargained for and not a match to the original color selection. The students and supervisors should work on better customer service if they are preparing to work in professional salons. more

A good deal if you have the time 9/26/2005

I love to go to the Aveda Institute and get pampered without draining my pocketbook. All services are provided by students, but as long as you are patient and not in a hurry, they usually do a very good job and are well supervised. A $13 haircut includes a head massage, makeup application, and usually a hand massage from students that are practicing that service. The place is huge and can accommodate a lot of students and customers, but the lobby is pretty cramped and there can be long waits to check in more

Great style at a great price 7/29/2005

Need a new cut on a budget? Try the Aveda Institute. Their students will chop away and create an amazing style...you will forget they are just students after awhile. And how can you argue the smell of Aveda products, your head will smell so good you will actually get compliments on that alone! Great style at a great price and compliments on your head's scent...who could say no to that!?!? more

cheap and worth it! 6/26/2005

aveda institute is a great way of getting "discounted" services from trained aveda-students. all the students are highly-professional and wonderful to work with. they offer everything from massage to facials to haircuts to pedicures. while the time commitment is long (b/c students are learning), you can to commit at least 1+ hour...but it's worth the price! they even offer a little counter for food where you get grab a meal while waiting! more
