Austins Affordable Autos

We bought a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo from Austins a couple of months ago. I wanted to wait to write a review becuase I had a couple of problems with the Jeep after I bought it, and as it turned out the issues were fairly minor concidering the milage and age of the vehicle, and I will point out that the mechanics at Austins offered to help fix one of the issues. The customer service and experience was great and hastle free. Seems like it took all day just looking and seeing what our options were. At the end of the day I put 2000 down and ended up in a decent used car to last a couple of years and help rebuild my credit. At the end of the day my wife has a nice 2009 Dodge Journey as her dialy driver and the jeep is my toy for fishing and camping. When it dies in a couple of years I'll be back to get another one if I dont just end up rebuilding the engine. I would buy from Austins again if they have a suiable vehicle.... I'll conclude in saying this: When you are looking at used cars make sure you find the car you like and take the time to look it over. By rule, older cars with higher milage need tender loving care (eg: special oil, upkeep every 3000 miles) In this new economy Austins is a great resource. Like anything you need to be responsible if you finance. If you use their in-house financing make sure your payments are on time. We haven't had any problems so the experience has been good. If your a cash buyer looking for decent used vehicles I would recomend Austins. If your looking for in-house financing for your credit situation I would caution you to conider the consequences (eg. High interest rates, late fee's and reposession) if you fail to make your payments on time. Those are concidered Hi-Risk loans and companies don't mess around. All around 4 out of 5 stars for what it is worth. Good Customer Service, Good Selection, Alternative Financing. I marked off a star becuase the Jeep had an oil leak and Coolant leak. Fixed for under $300 more

My boyfriend and I just went in there today and had a great experience. It was about the sixth place we had been to today and by far, gave us the best treatment. Our sales guy was great and the owner gave us all the needed details. They even had problems on running my card at first and the owner took care of it. We would have never been able to go somewhere and get bank financing. I have a pending divorce and he has no credit. We really need a second car and found the perfect one for our family. We were in and out in less than an hour. They take car of all the DEQ and DMV. We got a great price on the Land Rover. I am so happy with it. Thank you guys so much! I will send anyone I know who needs a car here first. And if I ever need to buy another car, this will be the first place I go. more

So I have been looking for a great car section for months now. I finally got enough money saved for a down payment. I needed to find a Company that could work with my credit. I found Austin Affordable Auto's, they took the time to find a car in my price range! Thank you so much for caring! I love my New car and it runs like a champ! okay... So I'm looking online & I see all these crazy reviews about Austins Affordable. Like seriously, SCARY! So, I, like a SMART female. Went into the business MYSELF, to check out what deal & whats really going on. But, before that I went in, I did a little RESEARCH, on the business. So I went to Austins Affordable Dealer ship, right off of HWY 99, in Hazel Dell. Vancouver, WA. They had the best car salesmen I have ever met in my life. These guys were wonderful, friendly, very respectful & down right just HUMOROUS!!! I don't think I ever had that much fun at a car dealer ship. The BEST thing about them is... I DIDN'T feel like they were trying to get the best of me. I think I actually got the best of them. Their IN-HOUSE financing works to fit your budget & goal. If anyone goes there these guys will for sure try and get you a great working vehicle for the price that is right for you... The First Car I Bought Was A 98 Dodge Ram V10 AWWW Sweet Still Runs Good That Was 2 Years AGO so far its only needed a Fuelr pump & a COUPLE of little miner Parts Which Is Normal When You Buy A Used Car That Why You See ""AS IS"" In The Window! I Guess I Have Been Lucky ""I Think $20.00 A day Is A Little Obsessive If Your Late But I know thats what happens when you are late on your bill, anyplace that you go! ""But On The Other Hand You Agreed To Those Terms""... ........................................................................................... I bought a car on 9-4 from Austins Affordable Autos for 5103.75. I put 2500 down and was to pay 2603.75 on the 9-18. My father passed away a few months ago and I had to pay for his probate attorney, so I could not pay the second payment on time. 9-20 I called and spoke with Darrell and Michelle they say they would help and to come in. I did they agreed to put me on a 4 month contract at 32% interest yes it is high but I did not have any problem with it because I knew I would pay if off within a month or two. We signed it and I was waiting to give them 603.75 as agreed when Michelle got off the phone. The owner called and said no! to the contract that was already signed. Michelle asked me to give back the contract I thought I should not give it to her but I felt sorry for her so I did! She said to give her a couple of days to talk with the boss. no call 9/21 so I called them back on 9/22 and was told no! they would not give me more time. I told them again I would bring the car back if they will give me my 2500 back! they said no it doesn't work that way! so I asked again for 30 days PLEASE! Darrell said he would call me back, he did not. I called again on 9-23 they said they could not do anything to help me because the boss said no! about a week later I got a call from a man who said he was the person that helps with these types of problems. So we spoke for about 20 minuets I told him the whole thing. And again said I would give the car back if I could have my 2500 back because it is just to much money to walk away from... or I needed 30 days to pay it off. I also told me we have not driven the car it has just been sitting because it needed tires and I wanted to pay if off before I bought tires... he said he would call me back... he never did. 10-27 I called and spoke with Mat the manager! she said they have already filed a lawsuit and that there repo man signed a statement saying we said "" we would never give the car back. that it was hidden and they would never get it back"" Matt also said he has had a repo mam to our house 10 times! I told Matt To our knowledge NOONE has been to our house, we have never talked to any person at our house about our car. we never said we would not give the car back. we have not hidden the car it is and always has been at our house in our garage. we still have not driven it. Matt told me that if I pay a 200 repo fee and 175.00 court filing fee he would drop the law suit... I told our attorney this situation and he asked to see the lawsuit so I called Matt today 10/28 and asked him to fax a copy to my attorney and was told ""no he would not fax the lawsuit, he was doing me a favor buy giving me this deal and if I want to bring attorneys into it he would see me in court! then hung up on me. I have contacted the WA attorney general, WA DMV. I have been trying to work this out since two weeks after I bought this car, I really don't understand how a businessman would turn down someone that wants to give them money! So yes I guess I will see him in court... more

THEY MAKE PROMISES JUST TO SELL THE CAR. 2. THEY LIE TO YOU 3. THEY PROVIDED EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE 4. THEY ARE EXTREMELY DISORGANIZED 5. ME AND MY 3 CHILDREN WAITED 1 HOUR FOR SOMEONE TO HELP US 6. THEY DID NOT FIX THE THINGS THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO 7. THEY QUOTE YOU 1 PRICE, THEN CHANGE IT LATER 8. THEY ADDED $500 ITO THE CONTRACT EVEN WHEN YOU TELL THEM NO LIKE 3 TIMES. 9. THEY WILL PUT YOU ON HOLD ON THE PHONE 10. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS, THEY TREAT THE CUSTOMER'S VERY BAD, AND TELL THEM TO TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT! MAKE THEM FIX THE CAR FIRST BEFORE YOU SIGN THE CONTRACT AND GIVE THEM YOUR $1500 CASH! OTHERWISE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU. THEY DID NOT EVEN SHAKE MY HAND AND SAY THANK YOU WHEN I SIGNED THE CONTRACT AND GAVE THEM MY MONEY. THESE PEOPLE ARE CLEARLY IN THIS FOR THE MONEY AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION OR GETTING REFERRALS. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU SIGNED THE CONTRACT AND THE CAR WAS SOLD AS IS, NO WARRANTY, THAT IS THE LAW. THAT IS TRUE AND I WAS AWARE OF THAT. BUT WHAT THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU IS THEY MADE PROMISES, AND WHEN I SIGNED THE CONTRACT, I DID NOT TAKE POSSESSION OF THE CAR YET BECAUSE THEY HAD A LIST OF THINGS THEY WERE GOING TO FIX. SO IT WAS NOT SOLD AS IS BECAUSE THEY STILL HAD THE CAR AND THEY HAD TO FIX SEVERAL THINGS, AND REPLACE THE BATTERY. 2 DAYS LATER WHEN I GO TO PICK UP THE CAR, THE ONLY THING THEY GIVE EXCUSES, AND THEY ASKED ME TO COME BACK TO GET THE REST DONE. I DID NOT THINK THEY WOULD LIE TO ME, BUT AFTER I TOOK THE CAR, THEY SCREWED ME AND SAID TOO BAD! THE CONTRACT IS NOT VALID UNTIL YOU HAVE POSSESSION OF THE CAR. I highly recommend you drive by and put the pedal to the medal! What turned out as an above average visit of a used car dealership ended with us being verbally abused by a less-than professional dealership manager. We went in search of a used 7-series BMW for my husband. We have been looking for a couple of weeks and have yet to find the one that has the price and condition we are looking for. Austin's Affordable Autos had a listing on Craigslist (dot com) for such a vehicle. We met with a friendly used car salesman who showed us two vehicles and my husband test drove the one he liked the most. We let the salesman know we were looking around the area (Portland, OR) for the right care. Upon the return from the test drive we were informed by the salesman who just leaned from the manager that this car already had a deposit on it. As we were not ready to spring that moment to buy the vehicle the salesman told us if we give him our info he would contact us if they found another one. We walked inside to fill out the forms when the manager let us know that although there was a deposit on the vehicle he would pawn those people off on another vehicle and let us have this one. We were discussing our options when the managed exploded and said, ""Oh, I thought you were here to buy a car, not just to play around!"" We were utterly shocked by his outburst and finished filling out our info for the salesman. I offered that if the person with the deposit did not come through that he should call us. The rabid manager again yelled at us saying, ""Its SOLD! You cannot have it!"" At this point we collected our small children, the salesman who was helpful didn't even tell us goodbye and we headed back to our car. Do yourself a favor. Take your money elsewhere. If they treat you like this when you have cash in hand to buy a vehicle, just imagine if you wanted to look around and not purchase the first car you touch! AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL Experience! more

I have done advertising for this company for years and know all the players. I know the owner, his ex, and the fired secretary. I can tell you i know of hundreds of happy customers , and a few unhappy ones. I think that the thing worth noting is that until all matts ex scorned women got together, he had 8 reviews in 15 years. Now the rantings are daily.. Good man, loves his children, and sells good cars at below market prices. He sells his cars cheap, thats what he deals in. Often financing those who have really bad credit. I have heard about this citysearch campaign against him and his business for months now since his ex left him for a wealthy man she met online while he was in prison for Assault 3, assault 4 and duii... not attempted murder.. I sell advertising to over 60 dealers in the portland area and can testify to the facts that this company does as good or better business than most or near all the others. try them out and dont believe what his baby momma and her new financier fiance spend their days posting. more

Believe it or not, buying from this lot wasn't the worst experience of my life. The employees were cool and the car was just as good. It's not my first time and won't be my last as far as stuff like this goes. more

wow people-seriously-maybe you should find something better to do other than sit on the computer all day slandering someone who SOLD YOU A CAR with obviously LESS than stellar credit and probably a lousy work history. Unless it rolls off the showroom floor it's gonna have problems. Be adults and see things for what they are-used cars. If you want perfection, try cleaning up your credit and life and go buy a brand-new car. Otherwise shut up and go to work more
