My problem is with the owner and the pool being available.\r Last year I went to use the pool. You need a key which is provided once the HOA dues have been paid. I spoke with HOW and they informed me that the dues had not been paid. \r I emailed the office several times last year between May and July about the home owner not paying dues for us to use the pool. Well finally the dues were paid but the pool was closed. I was very upset.\r We haves paid our rent on time, had no complaints, very minor maintenance issues. But yet our rent has been increased. I signed an extension on my lease for 4 months, my rent increased by $25. If my math is correct you multiply that by 12 and the dues should be covered. With a possible chance to renew for another year the home owner asked to increase my rent again. He didn’t raise the rent for tax purposes since his taxes decreased by $40 so that can’t be the reason. I can’t imagine that Homes 4 lease has increased the price of their services in the last 6 months. So why must my rent increase?\r Hoped to use the pool this year, I contacted HOA again Feb. 7th; April 18th; April 24; May 30. Confirmed the dues had not been paid. I contacted hte office again. The owner stated he needed an invoice. I forwarded the contact information to the HOA so he could get that. As of the 30th of May those dues have not been paid and the pool once again is open but unavailable. \r \r I feel the company should pay these dues and then follow up with owner for reimbursement. \r Due to the lack of resolve we will no longer be staying in this home. more

. This is the most awful renting experience I have EVER had to deal with. I have worked in property management for four years and know how things operate. My husband and I moved in just a few months ago. The duplex was disgusting, has cockroaches, and they will not fix ANYTHING. Furthermore, I have had several harassment issues with them stating I have extra pets that they cannot recall if they are cats or dogs. First, I was told it was that I had 3 dogs and a cat; next it was that I have 4 dogs. They have sent two different people to my house within a week to ?look at the house.? I allowed them to go in and snoop around. Then I get a certified letter stating that I owed them $600.00 in ten days for pets I do not have. Later I went up to the office to talk to the owner. He proceeded to yell at me in his office telling me that I know exactly what that letter is for and we?re going to court. He continued yelling at the top of his lungs at me telling me we are crap tenants. I proceeded to ask him why he would say that because we pay our rent on the 1st every month, paid our deposits, have never been late on rent and he continued to yell at me telling me to get out of his office. My husband went back up there later to speak with him about the disrespect to me, the unprofessionalism, and unwillingness to speak to us about the letter he wrote and mailed to us. He refused to speak with us and had the lady up front (who I must say she is the only good thing that place as going for them) tell us he didn?t want to speak to us and sent us away. Not to mention, we moved into a duplex where the owner of the duplex that hired homes4lease lives right next door and never said she was the owner. We didn?t know that she also put up cameras around the duplex that are constantly recording us. Without telling my husband and me she is the owner, she proceeded to constantly come onto our property, try to come over to our house and I have caught her going into our back yard and other parts of the property unannounced. My husband went to her house and had to tell her to please stop coming over unannounced and to stay out of our backyard. Her response was, ?I didn?t realize anyone was even home.? That statement made it worse, because what are they doing when we really aren?t home? This experience has been just like a nightmare out of a movie. If you want normal neighbors who don?t sit inside their house and watch you on camera and you don?t want to get harassed I suggest you live somewhere else. more

Poor Excuse for a Rental Management Company 5/9/2012

The only rating Homes 4 Lease deserves is zero. Do not rent or place your valued property in the hands of these scam artists. They are letting the properties deteriorate. The move in condition is less than desirable. They promise to clean, paint, fix and repair, but do not follow through. So, you are stuck with problems the moment you walk onto the property. Phone calls do not always get returned. If they do, they are extremely delayed. We waited one year for an airconditioner to be replaced. We went the entire summer, the hottest summer on record without AC. It was an old unit that stopped working, but they claimed it was a filter problem. There was a dying tree in the backyard. I was told to take it down (I was 8 months pregnant). Unknowingly, we acquired a leak in the upstairs shower when we signed the lease. When we noticed it leaking, we reported it . Twice! We told them it was causing problems to the patch work on the ceiling from prior damage (before our time). Nothing was done! The documentation and pictures required upon lease signing do not mean anything. You will still be held financially responsible for any and all pre-existing problems. Do not expect to see a dime of your deposit back. Fictitious lists of repairs are created and you are held accountable for them. They are stealing from their clients and their renters. Shame on them! If this saves one person from getting into the same predicament we fell into, I will feel justice has been served. more

Disrespectful Company 6/9/2011

I am not normally the type to write a bad review but my experiences with Homes 4 Lease were horrible. They posted the house I was renting on Craigslist which made people knock on my door at all hours of the night. Then when I contacted them about it they refused to help me. I was further displeased when they told me if I moved out early they would pro rate my rent. What they actually meant was please move out early and we will give you NONE of your money back. When I contacted them to discuss things they would never call me back and I even had an employee hang up on me. Instead of listening to my complaints they said they did not have to deal with me. I would suggest not renting a house from this company because of their complete disrespect for their tenants. Also, they have no intention of giving you your security deposit back. They will find a reason to take a majority of it. The house I lived in was a mess when I moved in and it was much cleaner when I moved out. Yet, I barely got any of my security deposit back. Please be careful in leasing a home from this company. They will have their sweet accountant call you because the people who cause all of the problems refuse to deal with their tenants. I feel completely sorry for their accountant. She is a sweet woman who has to deal with a completely disrespectful boss who does not care about anyone. more

horrible company 3/24/2011

This company is an absurd joke. Unprofessional is the best word to describe the lack of attentiveness that both leasor and leasee can expect from the owner and employees of this poorly run company. I wish one could give a negative rating which this company deserves! more

Bad management company 3/8/2011

Whether a landlord or tenant you should definitely think twice about entering into a contract with this outfit. They don't keep in proper contact with the owner of the property and cause possible legal harm to owners by their neglect of resolving issues. They have been criticized by real estate professionals for their lack of internal communication causing both owner and tenant stress, financial harm, and possible litigation. You are far better off renting the property out for yourself and taking your chances ... otherwise you are guaranteed loss of profit or potential lawsuit. If you are a tenant looking for property to rent you are far better paying a little more and renting from an individual who has a vested interest in making sure the property is cared for.\r more
