We interviewed 5, what we thought reputable companies. Three, including American Custom gave us bids(Am.Cust. the most thorough). One never called back and the 5th called us 5 months after our initial meeting to see if we wanted work done.\r It's been just over a year since we had our siding, windows and much needed exterior repairs done. My husband are so impressed with the service, quality of work, neatness of craftsmen that work for American Custom, we won't call anyone else to work on our home when work needs to be done.\r They delivered what they promised. When something unexpected came up, they reviewed ""options"" with us. I was looking into a siding project and had contacted them for a quote. Their presentation was nicely laid out and you could tell they put a lot of work into it. The salesman was pushy and wanted me to sign the contract that night. The price seemed high so I declined and decided to get a few more estimates. I contacted several other contractors that you see advertising on TV and a couple other smaller ones. Good thing I did. I found that the price quoted by “American Custom” was one of the highest. Several other contractors presented quotes that used the same or equivalent materials for a lot less. Lessons to be learned. Do your homework. I have had both friends and family use this company before and after I used them myself. They were not the least expensive estimate that I was given but I think when it comes to home improvements it is very true that you get what you pay for. They gave me a lot of detailed information regarding my specific project, so I understood what they were doing and what my warranties would be. The staff was available for questions and if they did not know the answer, someone would get back to me. Having work done on your home can be stressful no matter who you hire, so I was very happy and relieved that I found someone that I could trust. They even worked on my home while I was not there. If you enjoy working with a company that will never give you a straight answer, never show up on time, cuts corners for their benefit and doesn't stand behind their work this is the company for you. This company was referred to me by my insurance company so I went with them. In order to get an estimate, you need to sign a contract saying you will use them. This should have been my first flag, but this being my first major repair, I had no idea what I was getting into. They are all very nice upfront and from that point on, they are nice while tring to avoid you and thier responsibilities. Stay away from this one! Cons: Expensive, Slow, Sneaky more
