Review content:
Lamps Plus! has both retail and catalog/internet stores. The same sales and prices usually apply, which means you can find something you want online or in the catalog and nip on down to the store to buy it. Or vice-versa if it's not in stock or you just want to see it.
They have some big names - Minka, Lightolier, Lutron, Philips, etc. But they also have names that SOUND big and aren't. Often these are "captive" brands - which means made by contract firms in asia (mostly China) for them. Lots of places do this - Home Depot does the same thing with Hampton Bay and quite a few other names, Sears has Craftsman/Toughskin/etc. But the quality of the Home Depot captive brands, or of Craftsman, tends to be a bit higher than the quality of Lamps Plus brands. The Lamps Plus! brands don't have the brandname on the box, on the lamps or even on the single-sheet instructions.
This isn't a problem. Lighting isn't that complex and if you get it on sale, it will be a GREAT price. Just be gentle and use LocTite anywhere you can. We had a chandelier fixture work itself loose after a year and fall down at one point! On the bright side, their stuff looks real nice, works great and is lightweight enough not to stress old boxes.
We've been happier with the salespeople at Lynnwood than in Bellevue.
