A Fast Water Heater contractor came to my home to fix my water heater. Charged me $139.00 for the initial service call and told me my warranty for parts and services had expired. He said the repair part from Rheem was going to cost $260.00 plus shipping & handling. I was then told I'd need to pay an additional $99.00 service call for the return trip to install the needed part. When I called the Fast Water Heater Co. to say that I didn't know about the $99.00 additional return fee, I was told that Fast Water Heater Contractors never carry Rheem parts in their services vehicles. I said if that's the case why not just tell people upfront that they will be paying $238.00 in service call fees. At that point I told the company I would look elsewhere for service. Later I called Rheem myself and the part is under warranty resulting in no charge. Now Fast Water Heater Co. called to say they can install the part but I would now have to pay an installation charge of $260.00 plus their $99.00 return service call fee. Yikes, not a reputable company in my experience.
