T & K Transmission & Automotive Specialists did a great job, but not a perfect job. I actually had two jobs done with them. I initially took in my 2002 Mercedes SL500, which was having shifting problems. Ultimately it took putting in a newly rebuilt used transmission and replacing one of the on-board computers. The problem initially was that the manager at the location at the time dropped the ball. I was on vacation for several weeks and my vehicle was supposed to be ready when I came back. Instead it just sat there. The current manager, Tim, came in and took over and resolved the problem. I had an extended warranty that he worked with. He was very flexible with me in terms of getting the job done. The ball got dropped totally for just short of thirty days, but once Tim got involved with the situation, it got resolved very quickly. At the same time while I was on vacation, my 2003 Hummer H2 also developed transmission problems. When I got back, as soon as I got my Mercedes back, I gave them the Hummer. It ultimately required a rebuild on the transmission as well. So far, so good on both rebuilds. I've put about 500 to 600 miles on both vehicles since the repairs were done and have not had any additional problems or issues. The guys at T & K are very straightforward and honest about what they recommend as repairs and the accompanying cost estimate. Every estimate that Tim gave me on both vehicles, and there were many of them because he would suggest something and then I would ask for lots of different potential scenarios, was very accurate. I have a fair background in automotives and automotive repair. From what I could see most of if not all of his staff are very, very well trained and very experienced. It was not the usual get the vehicle out of the shop and you find two or three things are undone or two or three problems still remain, which is a typical situation when you take a vehicle to a shop, especially late models with all of the electronics.
