I had a slightly different experience than most people posting. I took my dog to day care at the PetsMart PetsHotel and during play, she injured another dog by biting her ear and drawing blood. I want to say that The Petsmart staff acted exactly as they should and took the injured dog for evaluation at the vet. When I picked up my dog, I had a $376.07 vet bill waiting for me. Nice, huh? Apparently that's how much it costs to place 2 stitches on a superficial wound. The actual act of placing those two stitches cost me a whopping $54, and then i had to pay for the suture materials ($15), sterile instruments ($44) and even the gloves. Apparently they had to use an entire box of gloves for this procedure because the gloves alone cost me $5! When I went in to talk to them about the costs, because I didn't even get a receipt at the time I paid, the staff were rude and unhelpful. These people are a bunch of crooks who will take you for every penny they can! How can a superficial cut cost almost $400 dollars to treat? I will NEVER use this vet again, and I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this incident. I can't imagine how this place has any patients at all. For a great vet with reasonable prices in Denver, people should look to Planned Pethood Plus, they rock!
