Review content:
A new addition to the Boca Raton steakhouse scene, Boston import Abe & Louie's really gets it right. I had visited the Back Bay, Boston location many times while up in Boston, so had high hopes when I saw this place opening. We recently went with another couple for my birthday and it could not get any better. The decor is a dark wood paneled, upscale, sophisticated steakhouse look. The staff was professional, friendly and accommodating. The menu similar to the Boston location is very varied for a steakhouse. Besides some great choices on the meat, they have a plentiful selection of seafood as well. I especially like the sauces and preparations available. My Prime Rib was Fred Flinstone size, done perfectly. The shrimp cocktails had shrimp the size of whales. I had the lump crab cocktail and that was delicious. Everything is a la carte, with the usual steakhouse style vegetables. One thing we had that everyone loved was the sweet potato with brown sugar. Everything is available with cheese, blue or cheddar. As a cheese freak myself this was especially appealing to me. Even the apple pie for dessert with cheddar. A decent wine selection rounds out your meal choices. I had a martini or two before dinner and that was an interesting presentation as well. An ice cold glass with the drink in a large test-tube packed in ice. You pour yourself (you get about two glasses to the drink). Overall, it is not cheap but well worth the money.
In a crowded field with Mortons, Ruth Chris, NY Prime, Maxwells Chophouse, etc., Abe and Louie's stands out above the crowd. My only problem now is that the secret is out and with the snowbird season underway it is hard to impossible to get a reservation at a decent time!
