Well Dr. Roberts must have done something right....Hoagie, the Beagle we adopted from CARE in January of 1995 who was estimated to be approx. 6 yrs. old then, is still alive thanks to Dr. Roberts, and the subsidized heartworm treatments that he received there. (3 of them was probably more than he was expecting would be needed). I'm writing this in June of 2007. Does that make Hoagie 18 yrs. old? Well, even if it doesn't, What a lucky dog!! Hoagie makes great friends at his new vet in Rockville, Maryland, every time he goes in for something. (Last word was he has developed a malignant tumor on the back of his tongue, partially successfully removed when discovered during last teeth cleaning. But he's doing well, and we are watching it, and he is happy geriatric pooch now, that's all I can say. Pros: He does excellent work with the shelter dog adoptions, helped us a lot w/ Hoagie. Cons: Too many cooks in that office sometimes, at least back in those days staff seemed hectic, vet tech wrapped bandages too tight once on paw, again this was years ago.
