Our busines had grown to the extent that we decided to use a professional service to do our personal and business taxes for reporting year 2010.
When we initially called we were told the cost would be $450.00 to $500.00, depending if we wanted to purchase the H&R Block gaurantee or not to do our personal and business taxes. I thought if we are going to spend that kind of money, then we might as well get the H&R Block gaurantee as well.
We brought all of the requested necessay paperwork to H&R Block. About a week later, we called and we were informed the taxes were ready. We went in that same day, review or taxes with the tax preparer and we told that we should submitt the electronically. We told the tax preparer that we normally mail them in, she told us you don't want to do that because someone doing the data entry at the IRS could make a mistake, thus causing us problems with our reporting, s it's much better and safer to submit the return electronically.
So, with that said she submitted the forms electronically. Then we were told the cost for the preparation was $987.00?????
WOW, that no where near $450.00 to $500.00 which we were quoted over the phone! We paid because we were happy our taxes were submitted and we had a gaurantee that everything was done right.
Two days later, we received a call from H&R Block in Newberg informing us that our taxes we REJECTED by the IRS??????
H&R Block tried to resubmit the taxes electronically again and again they were REJECTED by the IRS.
H&R Block then suggested WE mail the forms in?? I told H&R Block that their tax preparer did not recommed doing that for fear of incorrect data input?
I called the IRS and asked them, If I would mail the forms in, would they then go through?? They said "NO" if the forms are REJECTED electronically then they will not be accepted mailed in either.
I called H&R BLOCK and told them what the IRS said. I also requested a refund of our $987.00 and wanted to turn in the copy of the return we recieved. The H&R Block manager refused to give me a refund.
So, we did not get the taxes submitted and we are out $987.00. We did do a chargeback on our credit card account and we are waiting for the result.
That's our experience usinh H&R Block!
