Hard to Ask Questions if You Speak English 4/16/2006

Broadway Food Mart is a convenient place to stop for gas, or the quick items you may need from a convenience store, and they do offer decent prices, but this is a place where I will not shop. They are located right on Broadway Avenue, hence the name, which is a well traveled area of town, and I pass by their on a daily basis. The reason I refuse to spend my money at their store is because they have horrible customer service. I am a naturally friendly person, and like to interact with people, however, on the occasions that I have visited Broadway Food Mart, I have tried to ask questions about prices, etc. and been treated very rudely by the employees. I am guessing the reason they don't want to answer questions is because English is not their native language, and they have a hard time understanding what is asked, but in my opinion, that is not a reason to treat any paying customer with such a lack of respect. I shop at many stores where the clerks do not speak English well, but they are still very pleasant, and there are a few that I really like visiting, just because of how wonderful the employees are. So, all in all, I would definitely not recommend this store. I feel that their employees need training in customer service if they want their customers to return. more
