Saturday night is not when you would like to find no hot water and a mini flood around your hot water system! Sunday we did some research and it became apparent we would need a new heater rather than a repair. Do Google searches first for a list you can check on your own to determine how serious the situation is - do not panic and do not phone the first emergency number! A friend recommended going directly to Home Depot who have all different options (gas, electric, tankless) and know all the various energy rebates for Seattle. Home Depot's service people put us on the phone with Fast Water Co. who scheduled their technician for Monday. This way we did not pay extra weekend costs. That technician pared down all the options once he saw the limitation of our space plus we were also alerted to the fact we needed to get up to code. Within a few hours he collected and installed a new heater that suited our needs. I also want to be frank with readers and mention Fast Co offers a rebate for such reviews. However, rest assured - we were very impressed with the speed and know-how they offered.
