dr. carl smith heads up the ob/gyn program at unmc and he is truly a wonderful doctor! although i have always preferred women doctors, i felt completely comfortable having him do my pre-natal care for me while i was pregnant with my son...he even was there to deliver my son (which if you have delivered at unmc - you know usually a resident ends up being the deliverer) and he made sure to come back and visit us and hold my son...he has a wonderful, caring personality - plus you can tell he really knows what he's doing - puts you somewhat at ease during a scary time! check him out if you're expecting!
