This place is the Best Deal in Town. If you are looking for organic or fresh fruits and vegetables, this is the stop. As it is now, Soulard is still the best place in town to buy food for cheap. Though it's open a couple of days a week, most of the stalls are empty save for Saturdays, when the morning brings thousands of shoppers to the well-worn facility. By mid-afternoon, the prices drop dramatically: cases of grapes go for two bucks; flowers sell for pennies on the dollar; meats and fish are slashed.
