I called at 9am for a plumber to come out and install a new shower
head assembly and a new kitchen faucet, for which I had all the parts.
The technician arrived at 3pm and did a good job, and finished the job in 1 hour and 45 minutes. I had a $35 off coupon, and the estimate was dropped $50 after I balked at the initial estimate. I still paid $520 which was for labor only. That comes out to $350 an hour. This might be possibly acceptable for an emergency,
but not for a routine job. The fee to come out and give an estimate was $90 which was waived if one signed up for the job.
The dispatcher refused to give any estimate before the technician
came to the house.
