I got my whole car painted for $737 with a 4 year warranty. I got a special that they were running that included Light chip and scratch repair, urethane paint with integrated clearcloat (upgrade) and universal sealer plus a small charge for peeling clearcoat on one fender\r \r I worked with Michael who took great care of me but also had a chance to interact with Kevin who was also very attentive. Both were helpful and accommodating. I dropped in unannounced to check on my car and caught them just finishing the sanding. WOW what fine workmanship. I was impressed. every inch was sanded down. I didn't catch the gentleman's name who was sanding my car but it was clear he took pride in his work. I also met another employee who took the time to talk with me while he took great care to attach my side view mirror. I also met Joe in the detail shop who went over every inch of my car before it got released to me. He took the time to tell me what kind of products he used to get the car to sparkle like that and extended an invitation for me to stop back if i noticed anything that needed a touch up. I was struck at every interaction by the integrity of the people I was dealing with. Quite rare today I'd say.\r \r The experience was not without its hiccups. I got a call on the day I was expecting to pick up my car and Michael told me that he was not happy with how the hood came out. He wanted to keep the car for an extra two days to redo the hood and fix a small peel on the side view mirror. Both were fixed when I came back for my car and the job was top notch. I think its easy when everything happens correctly, but its a true test of the quality of a company to see how they handle the problems when they happen and this Maaco passed with flying colors. I think it would have been easy for them to try to pass off a substandard job to me and see if i complained but instead, they held the work to higher standards and kept the car until it was done right.\r \r One last bit of advice. Maaco does not remove lights and trim before painting. (not sure if you can get this for an additional fee or not) They tape off instead. I opted to remove all the lights and trim myself to hopefully get a better paint job. I would recommend you doing this as well. its not as hard as it seems. I only needed a 10mm ratchet and a Phillips head screw driver to get mine done. I should also say that I could not remove the weather stripping around the windshield so I had to let them just tape that off and it came out just as good as the areas where i had pulled the trim. \r \r I'm happy to be able to recommend Maaco on N. Lamar for quality paint job at a great price. I hope to follow up on this review to see how the paint holds up over time. more
